You need to quit cold turkey.

Pack up all your frames and ship them away immediately!

I'll kindly provide you with the proper address for their "disposal" and I might even provide the funds for shipping. Consider it my way of showing concern for your mental health.

I too had this same problem, it's a form of ocd. I now need to open a shop as well just to clear the clutter...glad you're honest about it man. Like me it seems that at least you got sweet deals on the frames, that helps somewhat...I guess (???)

I better send them to my tennis museum than to you VGP. You have fun with your guitars. :)

After I was brutally shamed out of my racquet addiction really good things happened. My life blossomed in several other directions. Now I miss the addiction and fear letting go of the frames. I'll always love tennis racquets, and I'll always be a racquet collector. Just time to move on and put this ocd to work in other ways.
Love,

I'm the same way... I have four now with a fifth on the way, all Prince:

- Magnesium Pro 110
- Thunder Cloud Titanium 110
- O3 White 100
- Ozone 7 105
- Ozone Tour MP 95 (coming this week)

I'm miffed that my dad gave away my old (original) aluminum Prince Classic that I had waaaay back in high school. I gave it to him after switching to a Pro Kennex of some sort. Then went from that one to a Mag Pro 90, which got destroyed in a move about 15 years ago.

Are there any special racquets you're looking for for your collection?

Only the ones that I have fun playing with, now mostly classic Wilson Pro Staff Tour 85-90 and Head Prestige series.

Otherwise, it's a case by case. For instance, I just added a JK Millennium Limited edition b/c it looks like a cool woodie and plays like a "recreational 95 sq in classic" (excuse my choice of words and please don't start a fight again - it will lead to an "ignored" list).

I can let you have some pics, i've got 6 siitting here next to me, 4 never used actually......Send me a message if you wanna know what they look like!

Why don't you post them here for all to see. Actually, I did ask not to offer me any more racquets b/c I have a tendency to buy them. :)

FYI, there's a guy on the 'bay who's got a lot of "new old stock" of Wilson & Head for sale in brand new condition. They would seem to fall into that era you're looking for. I've been so tempted to pick some of those prostaff & hyper prostaff that were new about a decade ago. Among others he apparently has some:

WILSON PROSTAFF TOUR 90 & 95
WILSON PROSTAFF 6.1 STRETCH MIDPLUS
WILSON HYPER PROSTAFF 6.5
WILSON HYPER PROSTAFF 6.1 MIDPLUS
WILSON HYPER PROSTAFF 5.0 STRETCH
HEAD CLASSIC TOUR MID PLUS MP PRESTIGE
HEAD FLEXPOINT FXP PRESTIGE MIDSIZE & MP

TW seems to have a dislike of that site with "bay" in its name, because it's been *'d out in your link. If you right-click, choose "copy link location", then paste it into your browser, and then replace the *'s with the proper domain name (hint ends in bay and also has .com on it), it'll bring up the store.

I dunno why TW has such a problem with them; TW's prices are pretty fantastic on most of their stuff, and they price-match. I'll admit it's the one reason I dislike retailers running forums like this, because they try to block anything resembling competition, and that's a bad thing.

Meanwhile... the racquet I'm waiting on to arrive is actually an O3 Hybrid Tour, not an Ozone Tour. I goofed. :)

50 rackets in two months -- wow. I thought that I have collected too many rackets (about 15) in 6 months. Anyway, I am slowly getting rid of the ones that I do not use very often.

Thank you, plasma ... I will keep posting until my walls are covered with good stuff. :)

Btw, I decided not to keep anything in new/mint condition anymore, only the ones my friends or I can actually play with.

I guess I'm weird, but I'm the type of guy who searches for the holy grail racket for me and my playing style and once I find it, I want several because of a stupid fear that they might stop making it or if something happens.

I do this with my favorite things. I have backup colognes of the same make and shoes and some other things as well.

Then don't forget the grommets!, always been my biggest worry... (especially on clay)

l love them and i am going to keep them. as long as i can hide them from the wife. lol

Funny, I know this is old, but I had just a look through that store on the site with the name that we can't mention. Looks like they have some PS 6.0 85 up for sale, new and for 149$ Makes me wonder if they are older stock or the TW re-edition. If so, how come they have them?i thought only TW has them

I cant seem to stop myself, 350+ and counting.....
Beautiful collection!! I must say.

I used to have a decent count (> 60). Now, I only keep the ones that I actually use: Head i.prestige mid, Prince Spectrum Comp 90, and Pro Tour 280 MP.

I just bought my 7th Prince POG Longbody. I really like this stick, and since it's discontinued and becoming semi-rare, I'm stocking up. Especially since, years ago, one of my POG Mids developed a crack near the throat.
And yep, I've stocked up on grommet sets.
If Prince re-issues the Longbody next year, it'll probably play different from its 1st generation. I ain't takin any chances.

I think this qualifies as a symptom of terminal racquetoholism.

We were issued a mandatory evacuation order yesterday by the authorities, because the third largest fire in California history (only 10% contained so far) is inching too close to our community for comfort. This is what the inside of my van looked like when we left for safer ground:

D2NpjBS.jpg

I only had room for less than a tenth of what's on my racks, so I tried my best to save all the "irreplaceable" examples, using a list that I had compiled the day before. It wasn't long after I reached my destination that I remembered a few "irreplaceable" units that I missed; which gnawed at me all night. I tried to go back this morning to execute a rescue mission, and to pick up a few essential items that I forgot, which I actually need in order to sleep comfortably, but the police wouldn't let me through the road block, even though the fire is no closer to our home today than it was yesterday, and a fair number of my neighbors had actually defied the evacuation order and are staying put (what is the point of calling an order "mandatory" if people can ignore it like this without any obvious consequences?). On the positive side, a lot of precious firefighting resources arrived in our area soon after our evacuation, so they are finally turning their attention to this side of the fire, which has been treated with little urgency until now because it is downwind from us, with a lot of inaccessible terrain in between.

Hopefully mother nature will have mercy on us and give us a break in the end, even though she has not shown much of it this year despite a surfeit of opportunities.

As for me, other than having to again acknowledge the fact that my sickness is incurable, I am also discomforted by the closeness with which I am experiencing the process by which "extremely scarce" artifacts could turn into "one of a kind".

It would be tragic indeed to be the last person to hold and enjoy a rare artifact, especially one that has an interesting history behind it!

Because I am accumulator and not a collector and only get these sticks to play with - if I had to evacuate I would grab:

Chang Ti 95s and OSs
POG Tour OS
Volkl C10 Pros
Volkl Quantum Tour 10 Mids
Head Rad OS's in all their varieties

The other 60 rackets could burn and I wouldn't look back. Oh, I might grimace at the loss of my Bab Pure Storm GT LTD+ GT and several others but they had their day.

Oh dear. Hope you have a safe place to land at, @Sanglier ! You certainly can store your portable collection in my basement for a while, if needed—I’m a scant two hour drive to your east.

@Sanglier - stay safe dude. I hope everyone over there escapes with as little loss as possible and I doubly hope the rest of the frames you weren't able to pack are ok. My car would have looked pretty similar!

Thank you, gentlemen! As it turned out, the second wave of dry thunderstorms did not materialize in the east hills yesterday, so the nightmare scenario that mandated our evacuation has been averted for now, causing the order to be downgraded back to ‘warning’. Consequently, many of us have been allowed to return to our homes as of last night while they work to contain the remaining fires, which are still huge by non-apocalyptic standards. If the weather continues to cooperate, we may be able to dodge this massive bullet within the next few days, though we are already being reminded that this is just the beginning of our fire season, and there are reports that many of our unbelievable firefighters are approaching their breaking point from exhaustion.

I don’t think I will unpack my van for the rest of 2020, unless it is needed to rescue people.
