I've been to Sweden multiple times, and you don't have anything approaching the level of poverty and crime that we have here. There's no question that being rich in the US is probably better than being rich in Sweden, but what about the other 80% of the population?

The weather in Florida is good for playing tennis all year round, although You might only want to play at night during the summer because the heat and humidity are pretty rough. I have friends from Sweden, and they had a rough time with the summer in New York, 90 F and high dew point. It's like that in Florida half the year.

If you wanted to play tennis all year round in the US without being filthy rich, basically south of the Mason-Dixon line. The hotbeds are Florida, Southern California, and I think Texas is big on tennis in some areas.

Also, University of Virginia, Athens GA..those college towns have a big tennis programs.

There aren't many cities in the world like NYC, never mind in the US. However, it's an IMMENSELY tough place to play tennis regularly compared to even where I live 50 miles away, where there are numerous public courts. You have to pay and WAIT for everything in NYC.

"your country is terrible, how could you vote for George Bush and support a war of aggression in Iraq..."etc, ad infinitum, even though I did neither thing!

I didn't mind it so much when it was coming from an incredibly hot 20 year old blue eyed super trim chick with a silent J in her name, but I digress.

America has it's pros and cons, so does Sweden.

There is indoor courts everywhere here, that was built during the "Bjorn-Borg-boom" and they charge you 10 dollars/hour, but i get to play for free in most places. There is also lots of outdoor-courts but that is just simply ironic because you can only play there for like 2 months/year, rest of the time it is to cold or to windy or whatever. 500 bucks to play 12 matches?? This is one of the most expensive areas to live in the country. Real Estate is at a premium, as are property taxes and utility bills. I doubt that the club is really even turning that big a profit charging that much. Other clubs are even more expensive. There are some very wealthy people who have their whole families signed up to play there..they probably keep it open.
