I'm hoping for Quarterfinals, atleast.

Ideally, a Semifinal appearance or better would give him a fighting chance to keep his #2 spot before the USO if he can follow up with good results in Cincinnati.

That would mean going through Del Potro, most likely.

quarters or semis. But I don't really see Murray taking over the #2 ranking atm, Nadal has before been close to losing his ranking before to Djokovic but had been able to remove the threat

It's pretty hard to make a good prediction. But if his knees are REALLY bad, then i would say QF.

Del Potro beat him on hard courts last time they played and is picking up alot of confidence with more and more wins and strong performances vs top players. Even if fully healthy I would be worried about that match, of course with the question marks over his return after the knee injury layoff it becomes even more dicey.

Is he seeded to meet Del Po in the QF?

If so, i think Nadal is pretty much done for. Due to his knees of course.

I'm going for Champion. I believe his determination after being out for so long will bring him to the title.

Ok, but his knees are definitely a factor.

I don't think he would be playing if they were, he's had 10 weeks off. If he's still in significant pain, then sure you have a point. But he's declared himself fit to play.

He can't exactly miss anymore tournaments, or his career will be practically finished.

I don't think that's true. He could have easily waited another month or two and would have been back to number 2 or 1 soon enough.

I would guess Nadal won't have any problems staying at the top. It wasn't an accident the first time. Fed did win the past two majors with no Nadal around... pretty fortunate maybe.

Ferrer in his first round would be no easy pushover considering it would be his first match back.......

I predict he will do great, until he loses,,,,,,,,, at which time everyone of his fanboys will say he was injured.

Ouch Drak that was a real jab. Can you copy that to GameSampras as well?

I pick QF but I hope he goes farther. Too soon to have any real good idea how Nadal will do.
