Semi-Pro
He lost the final in Basel, and followed up with a defeat today in Paris. Whens the last time he lost 2 straight?
you know when you're a good player when you DON'T win two tournaments in a row and people start asking around.
federer did not win a lot of tournaments in a row before the french open this year.
2 matches in a row, that is. Not 2 tournaments.
And the last time this happened was after losing the Wimbledon final and then to Simon in Canada
and, also, after losing the semi's in Australia and then 1 round in Dubai to Murray in his next match
Last year he lost to Nadal in the Wimbledon final, then lost to Simon in his next match, was a TB away from losing his 3rd straight match vs. Ginepri, prevailing in three only to lose to Karlovic in his next match. Two straight, and three in four matches.
Federer also lost consecutive matches in '07, twice.
Oh, I thought the Fed-Benneteau match was a second round match. I haven't been keeping up with results much this week due to academic studies.
it was; Federer recieved a first round bye.
It's amazing how we're listing only several times in the last two years federer has lost two matches in a row, lol.
The man is very clearly on a downward slope. Still pretty freaking good, but facts speak for themselves - the consistency is not there.
This was not a "loss." It is a pretty obvious attempt to avoid facing Nadal.

After seeing some of Nadal's play yesterday, I wouldn't think Nadal poses much threat to the rest of the top 10 anymore. Serena Williams has a better forehand than Nadal at the moment. And that serve...
What matters is he wins. He is coming back from an injury and personal issues. Everybody (like Almagro) "almost" defeats Nadal, but then they don't. That is why Nadal frustrates someone like Federer, who thinks Nadal should not win. But he does.
