There Is A Virus On The Tennis.com Link
Something popped up on my computer anyway.
its malware. Advertising for a fake antivirus program, MS antivirus I think. Just x out of it.
Well, I give her credit, though - at least she opted to play the sexism card rather than the race card.
I was at that 2001 IW match in which Serena was booed.
After reading this, I regret that I didn't join the chorus of boos.
Read some of the user comments off the 2nd link. Its amazing
Its a hip hop site, but, damn those people are stupid.
**** THEM RACIST, SEXIST CRACKERS!!!!!!!!!
YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!
STAY POSITIVE AND STAY WITH GOD!!!!
YEAH!! I use the ****ing "F" anytime I please....Humans with "powwer" are forever trying to takeover Gods role...when to breathe, where to walk, what to say, how much money, when to do what to do! **** YOU CRACKERS!
That was freaking great....THis is what I've been saying all along!!!! I'm so happy you said this..let these people know how wrong they are treating you, and i know you don't wanna put this out there, but your African American to, lets no forget that(not to say you did lol) but yeah If it was Maria Sharapova or Steffi Graf...the fine would have been 900 dollars, real talk...so glad you said this
I'm just going to be REAL. It's not only because you're a woman, but because you're a black woman. "America" loves you and your sister, but "Tennis" HATES both of you.
"How dare these two negro "girls" come and take over our sport? They can't stand it, but yet they have to respect it... as long as you stay on your best behavior. However, if you show your human side, then we will tax the hell out of your black azz!"
This is how they feel. Personally, I think you should sport the number 92 on your clothing for the rest of your career... and as you beat everybody in your future matches, and they as you, "Why do you wear the number 92? No one else in tennis wears 92", you can tell them, "GOOGLE, and you will find your answer."
Stay strong sweetie,
Sister Serena, thank you for your gracious explanation and your excellence on and off the Courts. You were being generous by leaving out the word BLACK, while describing the unequal treatments of SHE. Is it too late to stage a protest from your fans and other fair minded people, based upon the unprecedented treatment you received? I will be willing to lead a letter writing protest to the appropriate agencies. Let me know.
That is one of the most absurd things I have ever seen from a sports figure. She really doesn't get it, nor is she sorry, nor does she even realize what she did wrong.
I can't believe she thinks that one bad call against Capriati stole the US Open title from her, or that Indian Wells was simply booing HER.
She's lost it completely.
F you! You don't have to hide your racism. Just come out and say what you really feel. People with your mentality is what's really wrong with this world. Such meaningless, unprovoked hatred. What you read was support and "those People" have an opinion just like you do, only difference is that yours is based on hatred.

On second thought maybe you're right..
On second thought maybe you're right..
just shows she wasn't sincere at all about apologising etc over the incident
I think the funniest of all is Serena asking for equal treatment, by bring up the male player that got defaulted and and received a banned from a few tournaments.
so I hope ITF reads her post and grants her wish so that there is no inequally or double standards.
give her back the $87k, keep the fine at $10k.
but ask for her $172k paycheck back (because to be fair, she should've been defaulted)
and then ban her from the next few GS.
Are you trying to say that she's fat? Please post a recent picture of Serena and then call her fat. Once again; You dudes on here need to stop using the "fat" thing and the "female" thing and the "she threatened a lineswoman" thing to mask your racism. Just come out and say " I hate black people". There is actually more honor in that than hiding behind silly comments. Still mad 'cause 2 black girls came along, took over your little white sport and made no apologies about it. Get over it!!
what'd she say about Davy!?
this racism is nonsense. No one hates Tsonga, Monfils, Ouanna, Blake like they hate Serena...why? Because they are not crazy people.
What was the story there? Why did they start booing?
She needs to be banned>>>>>>>>> forever.
The people who commented, regardless of race, are pretty damn stupid.
Ignoring the irony of dubbing the same people this person refers to as racists "crackers", this world-beater demonstrates a profound lack of understanding of grammar and logic, thus nullifying any point this fool was trying to communicate.
Again, by introducing racism, this commenter ultimately voids his or her own opinion, especially by saying that special treatment is thrown towards "fan favorite" Sharapova, one of the most disliked players on women's tour, even by her compatriots.
"Yeah, what a great idea! Serena should TOTALLY wear number 92 to symbolize all the oppression tha - what's that? They don't wear numbers in tennis? Oh. Whoops! Wrong sport! I was probably thinking of Candace Parker. Woo! Go Candace Parker!"
"Sister Serena, good news! I have organized a letter writing contest, er, protest, and I am proud to tell you that I have garnered dozens - literally, dozens - of supporters willing to wage a war of words against the white establishment and I have notified all of the appropriate agencies of our displeasure, and ALL THREE OF THEM are soon to unleash righteous fury upon... the guilty party? You're very welcome."
I turned to ask the person next to me why everyone was booing. He gave two reasons: (1) the night before, just minutes before her semifinal match with Serena, Venus had withdrawn without an explanation; (2) Following that, there had been an article printed in the local paper examining past claims that Richard liked to fix the matches between his daughters. Add (1) and (2) and you get the booing.
You need to add (3): a racist crowd. Without that, people would not have behaved like that.
I was there. You weren't.
I never heard a single racial slur during the match. Neither did my friends who were sitting in the same section as Venus and her father.
Other Black players have been well received at IW. Serena is the only player (white or black) to have been booed by the crowd like that. No other Black player ever joined Serena's and Venus' boycott of IW, that is telling.
What i don't like about Serena is she blame on the IW organizers during the incidence in 2001. It was the fans that was out of control and the organizers had no control over them. In early 2009, the director(Erma Casey) try to reach out the william sisters, oppologize, and asking them them to comeback since they boycotted the tourney ever since. It was 8 years past and the sisters can't let it go. They act like they've been put in jail for 10 years and IW should owe them their lives. It wasn't the organizers fault, had they knew which fans is going to boo them, they would never let them enter the gate, but they have no control. The sisters should of accept the the invitation, they are not bigger than the sport, and it was embarrassing for Casey getting rejected by them.
Other Black players do not matter. They are insignificant and bow down to the establishment. Female Black players are a different category. They bring out the hate in people, as is proven in the hate threads that pop up here regularly.
The newspaper article you refer to might itself have been fueled by racism.
A couple of days ago I saw a blog on tennis.com about Serena doing a cricket publicity event in the Barbados. The author suggested that Serena is now going to use a cricket bat to hit people.
Pretending that all is kosher is not going to help. You have to see all sides of the picture.
