Pro Supex Maxim Touch Hybrid

Standupnfall

Semi-Pro
Going to string up some Pro Supex Maxim Touch in my HPS 6.1 95sqi.
Should I go right for a full bed or hybrid from the start?

I don't have much experience with Multis yet.
Looking for Control, Feel, arm friendly and medium to low power.

My favorites so far are Gosen 16 at 59lbs and Gut mains 62, Gosen Grosses 59.
I will be using my freshly strung Polystar Energy Friday night and depending how I like that (and how my wrist and 'bow fell) I may want to Hybrid the Pro Supex and Polystar but not from the start since I'm scared of Polys and at 3.5-4.0 I don't think they are for me yet.

If I go full bed what tension would most feel like Gosen Micro 16 at 59lbs?
This is supposed to have better control and better for my arm than syn gut right?

Thanks

I just started using the Maxim Touch (I am using the 17ga), and I have it hybrid with the BAM 18L... it feels great. A really lively setup.

It is hard to tell someone what they should be using or at what tension to string it at... but the best starting point usually is to string it like you always do and take it from there. It gives you a point of reference to start from... if you start anywhere else you have no idea if it is the string or the tension you are evaluating.

How about try Gosen OGSM 18 gauge: it'll give you more spin and feel.

Do you mean as a hybrid? Where would you put the Gosen, crosses.

I do love me some Gosen but only have 16g and 17g

I think I will try the full bed of Pro Supex Maxim Touch to start.
I have Gut w/ Gosen, and Full PolyStar Energy in my other 2 HPS 6.1's right now

A full bed of Maxim at 61lbs id say it isn't the most firey of multi, but i see where your coming from looking after the arm :)

i would always reccomend a poly hybrid though normally and say start going lower as 61 is a pretty high tension really, i dont string much more than that for most players.

to give you an idea im using 55poly 57multi at the moment

So Im thinking Ill string the Multi about the same as Gosen? 58 or 59?
I agree with Ripper014. Start with the same tension. Maxim Touch is a lower-powered multi, so I wouldn't up the tension -- at least to begin with. MT is a very nice string (I've used the 17ga full and as a cross with Big Ace mains). Hope you enjoy it.
