See, that's the thing, though... I don't want used. I know there's no way in heck I'd be able to find brand new ones, either.

Checked out the 320g version at Indian Wells. Wider-looking beam than I'd expected. Very nice paint. Asked about flex and rep said 62. Also asked if there would be a Tour version, and he said to consider the 320g the Tour version. The lighter version is the alternate version. Rep also mentioned the phasing out of the RQiS 2 and RDS 002 racquets. Finally, he claims that the RD Ti-80 on its way is better than the one previously received in the U.S. He said the frame is filled (more solid) and along the lines of the Japanese version.

Can you explain more about this racket?

rdis200 tour looks very appealing. Im excited to give it a try. I really like the rdis mid and I hope it has the excellent feel that Im looking for.

Its strange, the 100mid feels like a 95 and the midplus feels/looks like a 100. I hope the 200 isnt the same because the 100mp seemed way to big of a head size.

At the begining of the year I heard it's a Japanese release only... but I was asking about Europe so maybe USA will get it... T-Dub we're counting on you guys! ;)

Am I correct saying that it's the only box frame Yonex in the current lineup?

I was also hoping for a 93" version. The 93" kind of physcs' you out, as you'd swear the 100 on the side means 100", as the sweetspot is huge. I wonder if the 98" will make you feel like some silly Big Bubba or something is in your hands!

Introducing the new Yonex RDiS 200....200 square inches of raw hitting power!

eeek!

I would like a review and demo of this new stick compared to the rdis 100 and the yonex 002 tours. Yonex needs to step up its product support in texas IMO!

I got one from my rep yesterday!!! Gonna give it a hit today. Can't wait.

And yes, the frame is very boxy...love its classic yonex look.

I hit the RQis 1 tour and putting them up together they look virtually the same. As you know the 1 tour is 95 sq inches.

What's the flex? How does the RD compare to the RQ in flex? And isn't the RDiS 200 thicker in the throat, too?

I will let you know once I hit tonight. The beam is def thicker than the 002 tour (its predecessor). It feels a lot like the 1 tour in my hand though. Not much help, I know. Sorry.

Charles I was referring to the Ultimum RD Ti80...

The RDiS 200 has a hexagonal cross section beam.

Oh, sorry, must've gotten carried away. Here is my opinion of the new 200. It is less stiff than the previous 200 tour, a bit more power. At net it is super crisp and maneuverable. I have a one handed backhand and felt that I could get through the ball easier with this stick. I currently use the RQis 1 tour and feel that the 200 is a bit stiffer, but the smaller beam helped me out for sure. I am a solid 5.0 and I still would shank some because of that big beam, but with this I didn't once in an hour and a half hit. It has tons of access to spin and again I have to reiterate that it gets through the ball really well. Better than the 1 tour for sure. I am definitely switching and I swore off other rackets a while ago. But this you have to atleast give a shot. Very nice, IMHO.

The new 200 looks boxier (just made up a new word, call webster) than my 1 tour so sure its boxy. That's relative to my racket at least.

I understand you're excited with the new frame and all but please do not misinform others. The RDiS 200 has a hexagonal crosssection. End of story.

Charles thanks, I wrote the rep to see if he had em to try! No word yet!

Sounds right up my alley! I take it your is about 12 oz, and a SL not an UL, I had to weight up my UL for the 1/2 with my 002 tours!

There is no reason for me to change since i lime my raquet unless the 002 wear out and hard to get .. IE Blakes problem LOL

Here's the product page: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Yonex_RDiS_200/descpageRCYONEX-IS200.html

Maneuverable and spin friendly, the RDiS 200 is the perfect match for players with aggressive, fast swings. Modern strikers of the ball tend to hit higher up in the stringbed and this racquet excels in feel in that area. From the baseline players will find lots of control allowing them to stay on the gas to maximize spin and pace. In typical Yonex fashion, the handle offers ample room for players with two-handed strokes. At net the racquet feels fast and easy to get around. A solid blend of comfort and feel greets the player. Theres some nice stiffness to the hoop coupled with some classic Yonex shaft flex for a combination of crisp pop and deft touch. On serve this racquet offers excellent access to spin. Control is also very impressive on serve and there's just enough power to help get first serves away. All in all a great option for the 4.0+ level player.

Yeah. That's a typo... unfortunately... Yonex doesn't offer anything with a closed stringpattern... an 18x19 frame would be something new.

The flex of 61 is very, very good news!

Yonex needs to thin this out and add more mass. It's going to feel like crap guaranteed compared to their real racquets that they stopped making long ago...gotta follow the awful trends I guess (don't be sensitive, I'm criticizing a co., not your momma). Have to give them credit for the flex and swingweight though. At least it's not nearly 70 and 330+ like the last batch of junk.

Very easy to predict - thick beam, too light = terrible. Not rocket science.

I don't know,.. i have hopes for the 320 gram version.. it has a chance.. maybe :) No company is going to produce old classics like they used too.. and even now if you hit a brand new 12 year old (unused) racket it will not feel like it would have done 12 years ago.. shame because they were better :)

Stevewcosta - yeah i think a bit more mass would help . i Have to put lead tape and head tape and I add 2 big dampners to heavy out my 002 tours. I did not have to do this until i hit with big 4.5 hitters.

I firmly believe there is absolutely no reason to make these racquets so damn wide. They suck. I learned to play tennis with a R-7 (97 or 98 sq. inches and 18.5 mm box beam). You don't need anything fatter than 19mm. Most racquets are hollow and feel terrible. 26mm, 28mm...what the heck is that for anyway...? Let the grandma set use their 28mm 9.0 ounce racquets...out of 25 damn racquets in each manu. line-up, you would think they could make a couple decent options (and I don't mean all 90 sq. in. I prefer 95s but not with a 22+mm beam or with a 350 sw... or the opposite extreme of an awful 300 sw). Make them substantial and playable...it's possible and was done for a long time until the last 15 yrs.

Yep, 16x19 is the true string pattern. Just got off the phone with TW, they're going to change it soon once the web editor gets back (from lunch, presumably). Everything else looks good. I think I'm just gonna take the dive head first and order it now... despite what someone *cough Preston cough* might think should do.

I'm tempted to do the same. Usually like to demo first. But for some racquets, I can't get them locally to demo. Even with the mailed demo program, sometimes I'm not interested in adding 2-3 extra racquets (to get the $ worth for shipping charges) or waiting in line for all the racquets to become available to ship out. I sometimes hit with my wife's RDiS 100 MP and the RDiS 200's specs seems very close to what I wish that racquet was.

Well, my theory is that I like Yonex and I basically jumped into the RDS 001s and the RQiS 1 Tours w/o demoing them soley based on the fact I liked the RDX 500 (which I demoed first). I like Yonex and I'll find reasons to like it. The flex is what I like and I liked the feel of the RDiS 100s. None of the racquets I've tried feel crappy or cheap. And I don't have an inkling in my mind that Yonex will cheapen this racquet.

I've gotten used to the racquets from the RDX to the stiffened RDS to the flexy RQiS... I'll get used to this one, too... and the new technologies (Toughlex, CS Carbon Nanotubes) will help my game! Or so I'd like to think.

Just trying to look out for your best interests lol. But if you buy it, that just means you may be nice enough to let me hit it, and then i don't have to wait for the demo.

Now that I think about it, yes, do buy now.

You are not pulling me away from my Rebels... yet

UPDATE!

Just call Yonex (again). So, flex rating of an unstrung RDiS 200 is 61. Flex rating of when it's strung? 58!!! That's what the Yonex CS rep quoted from a Yonex sales rep who actually had a racquet to measure. The RDXs were rated at 58 by TW (I'm thinking that's most likely the unstrung flex). I never knew stringing affected the flex, but it makes sense, I guess.

No question. I'll like it. And I'm gonna buy it. And Preston, you'll get to try it. And you'll switch to it.

Does anyone know if there is also a Tour version of this racket (or is this in fact the Tour version)?

Many thanks

cc

No "Tour" and "non-Tour" versions. Just a heavier and lighter version. And they only really differ about 15 grams or something like that.

looking good - glad they got rid of the 24mm 3 and 9 beam of the RQiS1 Tour

I was wondering what yonex Monaco was playing with - he is playing good with it too.

I know! I'm using the RQiS 1 Tour and I'm sick of hitting the rim all the time! I suck and I certainly don't need a thick rimmed racquet! I remember framed shots on the RDX 500s were still good with my strokes. But a framed shot with the RQiS? I might as well just hit the ball into the next court.

dammmmmm this racket feels sooooo nice. I just got back from indian wells, and they had it at the demo court, soo i tried it out. It feels amazing.

Demos due later next week. :-( I'm ordering it first thing tomorrow. I'm just afraid after a month, they'll have a bag special and I'll miss out.

Yep, I ordered a demo yesterday. I'm kinda excited, because I've never hit with a Yonex before, and am interested to see if there's any difference in feel considering the shape of the racquet. The specs sound awesome though. I'm about to switch from the stiff (yet still pretty good) Speed Pro to a flexy, weighty racquet (probably with an open string pattern; I'm gonna try out some closed ones for kicks and giggles) and this one seems to fit the bill.

From your (or anyone's) experience with these flexy Yonex types, how's the ball pocketing/flex feel?

anyone compare it to the oo2 tour? more power ? less power? more feel?
i just bought back up 002 tours, did i do a whoops?
