^ Great collection of older Fischers. I see you are probably a collector since they are new...
Those babies belong on the court hitting balls. Great racquets.

yeah i'm a massive collector, but tend to play with all or at least most of my racquets. These fischers were a recent purchase/addition to the collection, and will be stringing them up in the next week or so and having a hit with them, can't wait

You are in for a treat. Best "feel" racquets out there IMO.

Those models have changeable pallets and the pallets are easily available for Fischers unlike those for some other manufacturers.
You could buy a different grip size and "swap the pallets" later, I would expect that grip sizes L3 and L4 are much more common on the used market.

unfortunately now is a bad time to find fischer equipment, i have been trying to Fischer buttcap without must success

the piece of rubber with the fischer logo is coming out from my racquet - i reckon i'll use superglue on it

Superglue is what is actually included in the pallet kit to glue the rubber logo onto the pallet. Just make sure you don't use alot or it'll go everywhere.

Just picked up an M Pro 1 98 NT and wondering should I string it up in the higher ranges. I read most of you are stringing it around 55-58 while I string up my hybrid around 65-60. Does the M Pro play better with a mid range tension?

^ I wouldn't string that racquet anywhere above 25 kg's ... especially with a poly hybrid. Strings and tensions are still a matter of personal taste though.

I love fischer rackets. I love how light my racket is and no matter which racket I use i always have the same weight! the only reason i switch between rackets are because of my strings

Hi I'm Ray

I guess you can count me in. Tried pretty much every well known player's racket out there in 2000 and ended up choosing the Fischer Pro Number One over the Wilson 6.1 Classic. Great feeling racket, more demanding imo than the 6.1 (which imo is a well rounded, easy to use racket) but lets me play a flatter shot and felt better on volleys. Currently leaded to 12.6 oz and about 350 swingweight with a very nice solid feel.

Hi I'm Ray

Just read the bit about Fischer getting out of the racket business. It's too bad really, as they made some real quality frames. Used the Fischers through college so I definately have some sentiment towards my Fischer Pro No.1's. Oh well, at least I still have them and they are still in great shape.

I still have my old Kafelnikov Pro no. 1 (red/black/white). Nice frame apart from mishits in the top hoop (ouch!)

I've been rediscovering the "Fischer feel". I previously had the red/silver Pro No. 1 a few years back but stupidly sold it.

Hopefully I'll stick to these even though Fischer is no longer in the tennis racquet business.

Is your red/black/white Pro No. 1 the 330g or the 320g?

I have three fischer mpro 1-105s, two regular wieght, on UL, strung with live wire mains, prince premier crosses, and i love them. I can't remember if it was tennis magazine or tennis warehouse, but when playtesters tested the m-pro 1s, they tested both the midsize and the 105s. The review stated it was the first time the playtesters actually prefered the larger sized racquet. I think the m-pro has the best blend of power and feel for a baseliner.

Sorry blackfrido. Can't help you much as to my string and tension preferences. So far I've only been using the strings that came with the frames. I have not had any of them restrung yet.

When they say shaft, where is that on the frame? Specs say 25 mm shaft, and 20 mm tip.

I think it's 20mm at the throat just above the grip then 23 at the position around 3 and 9 and 25mm at the top of the hoop. So shaft would be where 3 and 9 o'clock would be?

I see.

I hit with it again today, and wow, the comfort and forgiveness was great compared to my ag100. The jarring in the top hoop honestly isn't that big of deal, especially compared to teh AG100.

Check out this old photo I posted on another thread:

It says 20-23-25mm and then it also says the recommended tension (54 to 56 pounds).

I am kicking myself every day for getting rid of this frame. Stupid me!

That's strange. TW must have messed up and flipped it, since their tip measure is 20 mm.

Anyways, it's a shame you sold it. Would you say the old red/black/white hits similar to the no tolerance, etc?

And the beam def does not feel that thick.

They have similar feel. But some people have also mentioned that the no tolerance M Pro No. 1 feels almost like the earlier silver/red Pro No. 1 and the VT Pro 98.

I still have to try this out. I am waiting to get my older frames restrung and then I'll do a comparison hit.

I think it's thicker at the top of the hoop than at the grip. Check out the photos above especially the red and silver Pro No. 1.

The older one is more headlight and a little stiffer. It definitely feels more crisp than the MPro. The harshness at the top of the hoop may be because the sweetspot is a bit lower than what you are accustomed to. Try adding some weight to the tip.

Thanks, will do. So the newer ones are flexier? Sweet!

new member and quality question?!

Great club :)
Always a fan of the Fischers, I've switched away from a 90 head size for the first time since early college and now I'm in a Pro No 1 98 SL NT. I love it. One of the most brilliant sticks ever designed.

Randomly, I was hitting with a new one all week, and it snapped in half on me today. That's right, I hit a clean ball on the strings (no frame!) and the Fischer actually snapped. right at about 4 o'clock (maybe 3:30) on the frame on one side only. Just below where the frame "grows" in size for the perimeter weighting and magnetic stuff. Strung with cheap syn gut at like 60lbs, nothing special. I've never even see rackuet break here that wasn't cracked on purpose, and this thing folded.

Anyone EVER seen anything like this before? I've seen plenty of sticks crack from a serve, smash, or stress riser, but this is just plain weird.

And of course, now I need to replace it... :)

We are the proud users of Fischer racquets! Post here if you are a believer in the greatness that is a Fischer racquet.

Members should specify which racquet and string they are currently using.

Right now I'm using an M pro no. 1 SL strung with a full Babolat VS string job at 60 lbs.

Come out wherever you are, Fischer owners! I know there are a few of you lurking here somewhere!

man, i love my fischer rackets. i have had tennis elbow for over 9 months now.
i bought 2 fischer pro 105 last year and they are the very best rackets for the arm.
i also bought a kennex 5G but was very disappointed in it. it was not nearly as arm friendly as the fischers.
i just bought another fischer and i love them.
too bad they are going out of the tennis racket business.

Pacific will have the "fischer frames" now.

I like how it hits, and still, the beam really doesn't seem that thick to me, especially compared to the APDC. No idea why.

And yes, they're pretty arm friendly. I also ask, don't most frames give vibrations on mishits?

The Aero Pro Drive and Pure Drive both have 27mm beams so compared to that these are slim. Plus it's tapered so it starts at 20mm and goes all the way to 25mm at the tip.

Makes sense. Have you ever hit with the AG100 by any chance?

From others, i'm told that it's a pretty comfy frame, but i personally found it a bit stiffer than I'm used to. (I've played with the Fischer and Yonex rdx500 mp when I first started tennis fyi)

Who's your tennis idol?
To be honest, I've never had an idol. I liked Kafelnikov very much and this is why I've been playing for years now with Fischer racquets. I like Courier for not giving up. I like also Radek Stepanek who is my friend, we sometimes hit together.

Fischer pro no. 1 is feeling sweet. Honestly, it feels nice and firm, yet soft at the same time. In other words, I don't feel I have too little power :D

Are the no tolerance ones comparable (I have red/black/white)

Hi, anybody here played with the Mpro no 1 98 red/green to the Mpro no 1 98 yellow/green version aside from the no tolerance of the later what's the other difference in play? the red and green version is my current stick and I was offered the yellow/green, and since Fischer Tennis was bought by Pacific(means Mpro or any other Fischer sticks are no longer in production), I am tempted and intrigue and knowing the yellow/green is an update to the red/green version..........I can't find any specs on the red/green stick, would be very interested about the diff in swingweight of these since I don't have the instrument to measure mine ......thanks..

Is the newer M Pro #1 softer in the hoop and more forgiving? Is it worse on serve than my red/black/white version?
