Worst Prediction You've Ever Made

I'm sitting here working on the computer and glance over at the Bryan Brothers double match, and I was reminded of this time years ago. My sister and I were going to a tournament and walking through the grounds we say the Bryan Brothers playing on a side court. They hadn't reached any type of fame at that point, and my sister leaned over and said, "nice idea, but they'll never amount to much."

We all know what has happened since.

Ever been this wrong?

I thought Donald Young was gonna be an exciting new US contender. John McEnroe thought so too. Maybe this was just wishful thinking.

I thought that there was potential for Kirilenko to beat Sharapova at the AO. It was a gut feeling. It was a bad prediction because it came true.

predicted JMDP was going to be big in '10

he was big alright, a big disappointment

You really went out on a limb there didn't you? The '09 US Open champ, world #5, was gonna be big in '10?

Last time I checked it was only April btw.

My most recent one was Berdych straight setting Roddick in the Miami final. His performance against Soderling really mislead me to believe Roddick would suffer a similar fate. Oh well, just reverse the names and it's all good.

My entire NCAA 2010 DI Mens Bracket. Absolute disaster. For tennis, I thought Ted Neilly was going to get inside the top 50, he had a huge serve and forehand.

Predicting that Roger Federer would never win a slam, on account of him being a bigger headcase than Marat Safin.

I was convinced of this prediction until Federer won 2003 Wimbledon. And I didn't believe Federer could be dominant in tennis until he won the 2004 US Open. The way he demolished Hewitt in the final convinced me.

I picked Marquette to make the Final Four--my upset special; they lost in the first round. I did pick Northern Iowa to beat Kansas, though. In terms of tennis, I thought Tsonga, after his 08 AO Final, would come roaring and break the top three. I was wrong on that...

I guess about a year ago I said Roddick was just about washed up and doubted he'd ever reach the semis of a GS again.

In 2003, I picked Roddick and Federer to be the next Agassi Sampras rivalry, with the two competing for slam titles and being pretty much on-par with each other for their entire careers. 19-2 isn't that far off. LOL

Federer stomping Nadal in 09 Aus Open final. Thought Roger would play the way he did at Shanghai against Nadal, but he blew the last set and played silly tennis during two halves in the 1st and 3rd set.

My two worst are as follow

Mid 1990s "Goran will win at least 3 Wimbledons before his career is up give him time"

2001 not sure why Goran is even taking the wildcard it is not like he is ever going to win wimbledon now.

Goran basically made me look like an ass twice..

Don't feel bad, around 2002 I thought Federer would never win a major, lol!

Nadal winning the french in 09 and not losing the 4th round to out of all people soderling.

Double ouch

Don't be ashamed everyone on the free world had that one.

Me nothing too bad so far thought

- Roddick will get spanked by Murray in Wimby Sf 09 was wrong.
- And I had Tsonga making Wimby 09 Sf and possibly final.

One that could look bad.

- I still guarantee Murray to win a slam this year.

I was on that bandwagon aswell. But before that, I was on "Soderling is going to win Miami", and even before that I was on the "Söderling basically got IW handed to him".

So obviously I'm not good at this.

Nah, those were reasonable predictions. Soderling just failed to deliver.

I picked Querrey to make the final of Miami. And nalbandian to beat nadal for that matter. The nalbandian part was more wishful thinking, but I was actually deadly serious about querrey:oops: haha

Who in their right mind would back Tabasco to take a slam. He pisses away too many chances, double faults on huge points and finds a way to lose even if he's playing the best tennis of his life.

Sounds a lot like your boy Roddick.

Actually my favourite player, regardless whether he is inactive is Marat Safin. If you'd check my posts i am also a fan of guys like Ferrer and Hewitt as much as Roddick. Sounds like you are one ignorant poster

And even if Roddick was my favourite player, losing to Federer playing your best tennis isn't ashameful. He doesn't go around handing opponents victories with double faults on match points like Tabasco does.

And i admit, Verdasco is technically better than Roddick and has less flaws in his game and has a better skillset. Roddick should lose to guys like Nadal, Murray and Federer every time. Atleast Roddick makes it that far so those guys beat him. Unlike Tabasco who is too busy choking to journeymen half of the time.

some 6 years ago i was looking at this match between a spanish upcomer and some other guy and saying: wow... there is a new Moya... if he keeps that humble and fast pace attitude i might even be your fan...

boy was i wrong

he achieved 10 times more but infortunately he revealed himself 100 times more dispicable as a tennis player and a sportsman

I've read enough of your garbage posts to know that you are nothing but a Roddick fanboy. The truth hurts, hey?

That explains why your boy Roddick got schooled in San Jose final a few weeks back. I get the whole story now, fanboy.

Your boy gets cakewalk draws en route to finals. Yet he still can't convert 9 of 10 of those finals. God knows how that overrated guy got a slam!

I like Roddick, he's not my favourite player. You can go ahead and say that i am a fanboy but i am actually a neutral fan of tennis. I've actually told you that verdasco is technically a better player than Roddick.

Losing in 3 sets isn't schooling. Anyway Verdasco can have his 250 events. Roddick can keep his slam and his 5 MS titles

Your final point is really disturbing. He's beaten guys like Soderling and Nadal this year and was favourite to go down in straights in both. Roddick had a tough Wimbledon 2009 draw - Berdych, Hewitt, Murray and Federer and still nearly came through.

I thought after the end of 2002 that Safin would have a big year in 2003, and I still think he would've if he didn't get injured constantly, primarily with the wrist.

And yes, I thought Soderlings "best days" had passed him after his awful start to 2009, Sunrise gave a bit of hope though but still didn't expect him to reach the final of RG.

My best prediction was Federer winning FO 2009 before it even started.

My worst predictions was Gulbis winning US open 2008!

I predicted Federer would beat Nadal in the 08 French Open final.

I was surprised by the number of people who predicted this at the time. I was thinking "Nadal can win a French Open final in straight sets here because he's in the best clay-court form of his life". I never expected a breadstick and bagel though.
