I think Croats and Americans have the best servers ever.
Although I think Americans are a bit better.
Spain produce many good servers
Nadal (He won a poll for the best serve so must be the best!!!)
Fererro
Ferrer
Robredo
Granollers
The exeption being Nicolas Almagro who's serve sucks.
I'm not trying to brag but Sweden has produced many good servers:
- J. Johansson
- M. Larsson
- Söderling
- Edberg
- Engqvist

Roddick, Sampras, McEnroe
Also Isner has a huge serve.
So where are the Aussies ?
TheSwedes don't compare to:
Neale Fraser
John Newcombe
Wayne Arthurs
Mark Philippouissis
Pat Rafter
Apart from Ivanisvic and Karlovic, the Croats have nothing special.

I was being sarcastic :shock:I'd venture to say Almagro should be on that list before Nadal.
I like Nadal as a player... but his serve is not one of the stronger aspects of his game.
Yeah its a joke.. forgot about lopez actually! It's a joke, right? Almagro is actually quite a big server. Lopez too. But Spain is not known for his great servers. Nadal the best server? Even I, who don't like the big servers, would like him to become slightly better. It would help.
It's either Croatia or USA. For such a small country, Croatia has Karlovic, Ljubicic, Cilic, Ancic and Ivanisevic. USA has Roddick, Sampras, McEnroe(not big per se, but it did open up the court for an easy put away volley) Querrey, Isner, Dent, for the sake of being retro, Gonzales and probably many more. Since I can't decide which country has the best, I'll go for Sweden simple because we have and have had good servers, and because I'm swedish myself.
On an unrelated note: Federer is leading a poll on the ATP tour website on who's got the best serve in tennis today which is weird in a list with Karlovic, Isner, Roddickand I think it was Söderling.Worst part of it was that he had 69(!) percent of the votes! While he has a good serve, I think Karlovic has the best one today.
in recent years Arthurs, Phillippouissis and to some degree Rafter yes..
but compared to Croatia, Ivanisevic, Karlovic, Ancic, Ljubicic and Cilic. who can beat that???
USA has/had :
1. Sampras, topples anyone on that list. Karlovic and Ivanisevic may have stronger first serves on a good day, but Sampras by far has a much stronger 2nd serve than either of them.
2. Roddick, day in and day out the most consistent, one of the biggest, and by far underrated on this board. Everyone thinks it's about pure speed when he's nailing lines.
3. Todd Martin, one of the more underrated serves from the U.S. One he's in a rhythm he has a great serve, and great motion.
4. McEnroe, hands down one of the best serves if not the best serve of the 80s.
5. John Isner. Easily beats out anyone on that list but Karlovic and Goran.
That's not even including guys like Fish and Dent, both have great serves also.
sure but only # 2 and 5 are active players, look at Croatia (only Ivanisevic retired). Im talking about today not in history. if you look at the number of Croatian pros they pretty much got huge serves all of them.

I'm not saying they are better, but I'd say they match up to the Croatia serving team
I do have to admit, Croatia's players have much better kick serves than the American counter parts. Only Isner and Roddick really have good kickers on our side (Sampras really didn't have a kicker; it was more of a monster topspin serve that flew at you at 100+). Ljubicic, Ancic, Karlovic, and Goran all have disgustingly good spin serves.
goran, marin, ljubo, mario
Croat is sinonim for ace in Tennis language...
Quoted for truth.
I hope Mario makes some good runs this season.
