This definitely makes us the premier contender come next season. I am not ruling out this year yet, however..

I'm very happy for both Kristie and Nicole, both great girls.

But the reality is that these girls were part of the USTA junior tennis development program, who were being groomed for the pros but choose college instead.

Another product of the USTA High Performance program that ended up going to college.

Guess how much money was spent on these girls by the USTA?

LOL Don't give up hope on them yet.
They can still go pro, especially Nicole...she has the talent.
Just wait...only time will tell.

Who can blame them? Chance to get a great education at Stanford is tough to turn down.

I think these girls are being realistic. It's astounding how many talented juniors work so hard to become pro and even they fall short...it's not an easy feat for sure. Good for them though, Ahn is a tough competitor and very quick. She'll accomplish a lot at Stanford, I think.

Ahn's going to become the next Amber Liu.

Kristie Ahn is Korean. She a good competitor and ball striker. Nicole Giibbs is a pusher grinder and part time moon baller. She will be a fine college player but has no chance of making it to the pros. USTA High Performance was wasting their money trying to groom her. She won in the 12s and 14s by moon balling. When the hitting got bigger in the 18s and she couldn't sustain hitting, she would constantly throw up a moon balls out of of nowhere. She is a typical USTA pick would grinds to win in the young ages so she was taped to sponsor. Ahn was never a USTA kid, she was always privately coached and only when she was winning nationals was she picked to play for the USTA. She never roomed at USTA Evert.

I thought Ahn was Korean american. Anyway, if Ahn can make into top 100 in WTA, it will be a historical event. She will be the 1st Korean american to make a mark in WTA tour. I hope she makes it. She is full of talent but i only hope she has the strength to compete with big hitters in WTA.

Moonballs? Ugh. The reason I never buy a WTA ticket.

Lets hope she makes it. but in the past, too many disappointments from USTA bread asian american girls. when they get older and start competing with the big girls in WTA, they just get over-powered and get blown off the court. WTA has turned into a Big girl tour with big hitting from russians and Williams. Otherwise you just can't make it in WTA anymore......Days of Chris Evert is OVER...........:(:(

"USTA bread asian american girls"?? Whole wheat or rye? Personally, I think someone might have wasted 200k on a Standford education.
