post pics of your own custom pjs. They can be fully pj'ed, have your name ingraved, have a different shade of green, anything but it has to be custom.

It used to be a pure drive with cortex.

Do you already have a design for yours?

Looks real nice....like how youve got your(i assume its yours) signature above the grip.
Howd you get the barcode like stripes on the bridge?
Also howd you paint over the cortex so well?
Also what type of paint did you use?
Im thinkling or using automotive paint, would that work?

sorry if im asking to many questions

Its not set in stone but im thinking

-white inner hoop
-black face sides MAYBE some either Dark Crimson/Orange lines
-Dark Crimson/Orange bridge
-and keeping the edges the braided graphite

im pretty keen and basing it on youtek pjs with abit of personnal touch

btw the crimson would be the red used on youtek prestiges and the orange a darker vesion of the youtek radical pro

Not a problem.

It is indeed my own signature. The LIEM on the throat is my last name, and the barcode is my full name, in a barcode font. All graphics are transparent stickers I printed and stuck on before I sprayed the clear coat. The barcode is just a sticker right on top of the wood grain sticker.

I didn't paint over the cortex. I removed the cortex (it's a flimsy piece of plastic that really doesn't do anything) which left a 1/8th inch deep ridge where the cortex used to be. I filled it with filler and sanded it smooth, then painted it.

I used cheap acryllic spray paint from the hardware store. It holds well, but does seem to chip easier than the original paint. Automotive paint is probably good. There was quite an extensive topic about custom paint jobs (link in the sticky) and I think they advised to use that too.

Curious as to how yours turns out. Also, you might like this one:

Here's my first attempt at a custom paint job. APD+ painted in orange mist and dark spiral gray. It was great until I put the grommets in, now there are small chips around some of the grommet holes that I have to touch up. Guess the paint didn't stick too well around that area. Oh well, just the learning curve I guess. Took the opportunity to add 6 grams under the bumper guard, 8 grams under the grip, and 6 grams inside the handle. Now weighs in at 12.4oz, 4 pts HL, and has a swingweight of 369 (measurements taken at a local tennis shop).

There r some really good custom paint jobs that I have seen on this board. One especially he has his avatar as a graphic he used on one of his racquets. I think he's a designer anyway if he reads this hope he post his frames.

Cellofaan - What bumper guard are you using? It doesn't look like the normal Babolat, unless my eyes deceive me.
It is the original bumper guard (and damn those things really don't want to go back in after you've taken them out). You probably asked because of the thicker portions at 10 and 2 didn't you? That's lead tape, covered by black tape.

By now I've restrung it and the tape is hidden under the bumper, so it doesn't look as weird anymore.

Yeah, the black taped lead tape threw me off. Thanks for clearing that up!

Just a suggestion. On your next paint job, before putting in the grommets, get an exacto knife and carefully "cut out" any paint that covers or goes over a hole to make sure the grommet doesn't hit anything as it goes through. That would prevent the chipping.
