WOW so realised why adding 8 grams of lead at the top of my rackets was silly! Couldn't keep a ball in court! Also realised how crap tecnifibre overprices are, need to get my yon overgrips back in

Guys, I think you all need to give Topspin overgrips a try, especially if tacky white grips are up your street. I bought 60 for £30 (incl p&p) from Torsports as a replacement for Babolat overgrips, which lack durability and tack. Whats great is that they retain tackiness even when dirtied, meaning a change isn't necessary every other match.

Love them mate. Can tell how my game has improved in the last 6 months after switching to the PB 8's and then to my coaches Tecnifibre stuff, the rackets are practically the same. Not adding lead like that again though, just to powerful and not needed. Defo think getting rackets and sticking helps in the longrun. Whats ur set up at the min dude?

i curently have a PT167A, a dunlop pro line 2 200g,(something like that) a swirly pure control (none of which are quite right and should all be moved on)now i've had my recent delivery of pro one limiteds......i'm hoping the pro ones are going to be it because all the chopping and changing is killing my groundstrokes!(suprisingly i actually dont like buying and selling frames anymore):shock:

given my usual ambivalence to or dislike of lots of strings, i'm going to surprise you all by saying that it seems i like tecnifibre black code. strung it up at 25.5/26.5 just before i hit today. it was absolutely perfect. i could just stroke the ball around pretty effortlessly, then when i wanted to rip it i had all the control i needed. will have to see how it holds tension, then try it out again when i get back to england and have to adjust to stringing on a different machine and playing on a different surface again.

No problem and pleased you like them. This was the "mystery six" rackets for £120 deal that I offered a few weeks ago. I may do another one -- perhaps slightly fewer and better rackets for a slightly higher price -- in the near future.

Have been mucho busy since end of summer on the work front, and abroad also for nearly 3 weeks. We returned back to London yesterday and the word 'gloomy' springs to mind...
Also a bit confusing (though maybe that's jet lag and culture shock?) with the old thread erased, a new UK for sale/trade or whatever section, plus the FB group too (don't know about anyone else but the weird ways FB works - like when it sends you 25 emails in 2 days, for example - can do my head in.)
Have played no tennis for maybe 4 weeks, so not much to say on the rackets side of things, but hope to resume again where I left off soonish (the YT PP and APD being, for different reasons, the frames I seemed to like best lately.)
Anyhow, thought I'd say 'hi' and see who's around on this, er, new UKRHs & TBs... here's one from the archives you'll doubtless recall!

You have to do one of these if you don't have a rating. There making sure you are capable of coaching at level 3.
Now because i haven't had a rating since i was 17 i had to do one. Grade 2 is the equivalent of a 5.1.
Will try the Grade 3 at some point i think, could be fun
Haha, sounds good, what sort of things does the playtest involve for them to get an accurate reading of your rating. (Drills? Matchplay?). Also what happens if you have a rating but think it should be higher. Can you do the playtest to try and improve it? Sorry for all the questions
Cheers for any help you can give.It's not something that i can do for the group as i tried that originally it's a personal settings thing.

The muscle weave is a great frame. I really enjoyed that one when I tried it a while back. I second the RDX500, I just found it very low powered, to the point where I was banging the hell out of it to no avail (said the bishop....).

At best it's a real Asian model but I doubt it as the guy who sold it is no longer on **** (under that username at least).
Very Very pissed off, from now on I shall only buy from trusted sources on TW or similar.
Any of you guys have experience of the process from here?
Oh and if anyone has a BLX or K90 6.1 tour (real ones only please) going cheap then drop me a line.

My normal frame is Tecnifibre 320 Tfight Vo2 Max but have used or tried virtually every players frame of the last 15 years so I didnt expect too many surprises. My preferred game style would be closest to early Agassi.
So lets start wth the two that deffo didnt work for me and....
Lets get the BB becker Pro out of the way first. I would put this in the category of granny stick, and if power is your thing then great, but beware because this thing is a TRAMPOLINE and the taming of that power and slight lack of return stability will always be an issue. Serves are absolute bombs though and there was a surprising amount of spin but even this wasnt enough to bring the ball in court when rallying. Mr Becker you are dismissed!!!

I wanted to like this, I thought I would like this..........I cant quite put my finger on why it didnt work, though I had some real issues getting ANYTHING out of it at all on serve most noticably.
The spin potential seemed massive when using this and particularly suited my SW forehand allowing for pinpoint accuracy when rallying, but what was strange was that when I became more agressive and wanted to finish a point nothing happened..... It was like putting the accelerator down on a motorway after doing 65mph in a sleek supercar and finding nothing happenned ... nothing at all, and being alarmed that something you took for granted wasnt there and the faster you moved your racket head through it the less response you got. It seemed to defy physics.... but then guess what going back to a rally ball and it was smooth as anything once again.
My serve is not the fstest out there but this felt like swinging a heavy cricket bat over my head and service speed felt markedly lower (maybe 15-20mph) less than my usual efforts. I just couldnt get it moving even though some of the other frames I used were heavier. On the upside but rather a strange contrast is that volleys seemed very easy and accurate.... so its manouverable on volley but not serve?!? How can that be.... I really didnt understand that myself but one things for sure if you serve with it your volleys better be good otherwise you will get twatted.
Its got to be a big thumbs down for me and thats unusual for a frame that you want to like as usually you can find enough good stuff to convince yourself... but ...er no ! I guess if you just want a rally to practice with this would be ok but unless you want to feel like a single bullet sniper running into the teeth of a machine gun blitz dont take it into battle with you!!

Im with you on the RDX Origarm.
Was there an Aeropro Control .. Oh yes OH YES, YES YES YES !!!!! Think back to the original Aeropro Drive the dark gray one Nadal used originally when they first came out, and imagine that same racket with 320g 98head and a narrower beam the only cosmetic that was different is that it has the Red colour of the control series where the aeropro drive had a little splash of blue. VERY nice indeed.
Cant believe Babolat gave up the Control line, it was a great series and I just dont think the storm line has the same heritage or will ever match it.
