I'm more than willing to play anyone (this includes YOU). If you wish to spend your money to fly down to come play me, and "video it",,,,,, be my quest.
Ok.

Wow, some serious internet chest thumping going on here. Can you guys stop arguing about the size of your e-penis and just post some videos already?
(I can get away with this because I'm apparently the only guy on the forum who will admit that my tennis isn't that good - yet).
I don't care what you self rated at, or what 10 year olds you beat in an open tourney. from when I stated my opinion of your level of play, you were at best a 3.5. If you have improved since then, GREAT! GOOD FOR YOU! HOPE YOU ARE INJURY FREE NEXT YEAR.
Again, the outcome of *OUR* match, would not change any of this, or my opinion of your level of play.
This has been discussed to death, but I'll give you a rough outline.Interesting...
I don't want to go behind the scenes of what is going on between the two of you kids, however, from the edited or unedited videos I have seen of Jolly, he is WAY above the 3.5 level. 3.5 cannot hit those deep shots, those serves, and other shots with the consistency I have seen in the videos. Again, the videos may be heavily edited, but again, I am 99.9% sure that 3.5 or 4.0 would absolutely have no chance against Jolly.
Unless he totally breaks down in the real match, I think drakulies emotions are in the way of the reality here...

1. J011y's videos are edited--- not that there's anything wrong with that.
2. His match record is not great compared to what you see on his videos.
3. His posts from awhile back suggest that he's a high level player, and Drakulie likes to call him on it.
I for one am glad that J011y posts videos. I could care less about his level of play.

Has been talked about. Even somewhat organised.
Don't think it ever actually happened though.
^^^DNShade had also put together some Vegas options for us too. There was also great debate as to when it should take place and then it kind of fizzled.
Thanks, I assumed that is what was going on...
He must be falling apart in the match situations -- I have seen a lot of that many times. I am almost the opposite, don't give a crap if it is a warm-up or the finals...
My problem is closing the match -- I get too excited being ahead and close to the end. Recently (in Prague) I have been playing with this great former NCAA women's top player and came to 5:1 in the second set to let it go 5:7... Nevertheless, great experience playing with someone that is well coached...
Interesting...

Hey, I am a computer rated 5.0, and currently #9 in the Eastern section Men's Open, out of 553 ranked players, the highest I was ever ranked was #3.
Feel free to look up my record.
I've been fighting injuries for the past couple years, and then struggled with matchplay once I was healthy again, but now I am playing about as well in real matches as I do in practice.
As far as edited/uneditied videos, here is one of 8 mins of unedited hitting and groundstroke point play, the first few mins are just the warmup, but I start hitting a bit more as it goes on.

That video is about 5-6 months old, I would like to shoot a new one in the next month or so because my FH, and movement I think are getting much better.
My back has been really bad for the past couple months, and I had to withdraw from a tournament in November, but hopefully it clears up and my 2011 campaign is a good one. I'll start a thread to chronicle my exploits, and we will see how it works out.
Anyhow, if you have trouble finding my record on the USTA site, just e-mail me and I will forward it to you.

Nice hitting. Gotta love the depth on your shots.
Ahh J011y, that beeaauuutiful sound I hear at the beginning of your video....there's nothing like the crack of a bat if you ask me!
Yup.
J
Tony's strokes are better than TB's, and he's match tough to boot. TB's serve would probably hold up nicely, though.

This is good stuff, carry on guys....
- correct muscle groups on volleys (chest/back), instead of the hands pushing the Wilson.
pardon me for being arrogantly frank-
http://vimeo.com/13812530
major swing flaws on both groundies and volleys - and they boil down to 1 sentence.... you are swinging the wrong racket.
all the effort in every one of your shots are focused on moving that Wilson in your hand - wrong object.
I think if you move your focus to what I call the 'human racket' - the unit made up of your arm and the Wilson, then you will see SIGNIFICANT improvement in all your strokes...
you want extra butter with that?
I don't wonna argue against your rating... 5.0 is 5.0... but so is this guy LOL.. his strokes are actually less focused on the graphite racket, but also obvious swing flaws in his ground strokes.

is your middle initial R?
I don't think the chest should be the main muscle group on the FH volley.
It should just be hit in front w/the arm behind the racquet handle.
If anything the main muscle group should be the legs as they propel you
forward while the ball is in flight.
A post of that guy always shows up in this forum. He isn't or he wouldn't be in Florida. Not even close.
I think everybody should post a vid and put the URL in the signature..... you know what, why don't we turn this thread into 'me hitting' thread, so we have a collection of 'who's who' and 'who hits how'.
It will be interesting.
and I promise I won't give uninvited advices LOL

- better unit rotation
- better racket release
- follow thru with more room (thank goodness you have good flexibility, but still, that arm is crashing against the body pretty hard)
- correct muscle groups on volleys (chest/back), instead of the hands pushing the Wilson.
- free-er movement on running shots.

I look forward to meeting and playing some tennis w/some of the long-time
TW posters, like jollyroger, drakulie, sup, bhbh, tonlars, etc.
