Looking up his results to embarrass him, making fun of his language skills, and disparaging his playing ability are purposefully malicious acts. Yes, the guy said some things that were a little silly, but you're all acting just as childishly by ganging up on him and making hostile remarks. Now, someone will point out that he has posted combative remarks as well, but you have to consider that the guy has dozens of posters ganging up on him and saying he sucks at tennis. It would be hard not to feel personally attacked. If he's really so silly, shouldn't you all show a greater level of maturity and disregard his comments? sennoc, thank you for the lesson. But I am covered. I learned the game from Rick Macci, Sekou Bangoura, Emilio Sanchez-Vicario, Nick Saviano.

Perhaps we don't have you 'expertise' on technique, but we produce winner after winner. That is why our students play tennis, to win, using whatever form the competition requires to get the job done.

The world is full of guys who can use fancy words and brag about their technique. I would rather hang out with the winners, despite their form....they attract a lot better looking women.

No, none of us have ever played in the sun at noon. Especially not in Florida.

And how dare they use those Prince balls? Are they insane? Hitting partner of mine DARED to pull out used Dunlops last night and I beat him senseless for thinking to insult my tennis gear like that. After a ride to the local hospital to get patched up, he called and thanked me for the life lesson and promised to never do it again.

I agree, a lot of people here are immature, like me, although I'm in my 30s. I believe there are men that will be immature until the day they die regarding ego's. Everyone has an ego and when someone claims they are better then that is a direct challenge to the ego.

I don't have a problem with the guy, but I think people are just bored and it's easy to bully someone through the computer. When you're face to face, people are different.

I am a recreational player and because of my work I play 1-2 times a month and currently I am not playing at all. It's pure fun for me. I try to attend our forum tournament (I am one of the administrators of TenisNET, the biggest internet tennis discussion board in Poland) which was usually held once a year and currently takes place 2 times a year. However due to lack of time I simply cannot travel to Warsaw.

I wouldn't say that. I remember his statement that he's going to win some tournament and he lost in the 1st round of the main tournament and in the 1st round of the "cheer up tournament" (it's a side tournament for the people who lose in their first matches).

Nah! He posts the same rubbish on the country discussion boards and is the laughingstock of the country. If I remember correctly he lost in the 1st round of the last journalists cup and lost in the 2nd round of the "cheer up tournament".

Sennoc is a grown man. He can defend himself.

Are you serious? Go back and read the statements you have made in this thread. They have been laden with hostility and reek of "taking an internet forum way too seriously." You personally attacked the guy's abilities and even his personal life. You said that a poster who defended sennoc was "defending the indefensible." That's a phrase better suited for someone who is arguing in support of racism. So basically, it's fine to take the forum seriously if you're trying to put someone down, but not if you're against it.

Finally, just because you guys are ganging up on a guy and making of him over the internet, doesn't mean you're not still ganging up on a guy and making fun of him.

I think a lot of it has to do with the idea that they don't respect the person challenging their ego. IE, if Gordon Ramsay came up to you and said he was a better cook than you, you'd have no qualms, but the moment someone you disrespect (at least in your own mind) says something that steps on your toes, people go ballistic. It's sorta like "If I don't even respect YOU, and YOU think you're better than ME, then what does that say of myself?", hence leading to a defensive, perhaps offensive, stance to be taken. They almost have to prove to themselves that the person they are disrespecting is worth no respect, and in doing so make the disrespected person's statement of "I am better than you" meaningless... or maybe I should have stayed in my college psych class, instead of dropping it so long ago.

There have been plenty of other delusional people here. Tennis attracts these kinds of people. It's the only sport where people can lose all the time and still believe in their mind they're better than others. What sets Sennoc apart a bit is that he's so combative about it. I remember a guy on here who said he can hit like Federer on his best days, with all the power and precision of a pro. I actually met the guy. He's a weak 4.0 at best, possibly 3.5. But in his mind, I think he thought losing pretty was better than winning ugly, and in the long run that's what mattered. He would miss 10 balls and hit one clean shot, and I think that one clean shot is all he remembered. It was truly bizarre. But this guy sort of backed down when people pointed out he was being delusional.

Should I find posts from your "amazing" forum before I was banned? They are still in my archive and the language is so primitive that Google should translate it without problems. It would be interesting for people here to know the level of discussion on Polish forum you helped to create. It was an amazing reading, as far as I remember. The atmosphere was so great that many players left your forum and created another one. And none of them writes on your forum these days.

Just ask, I find these posts. People here could compare, are they as creative as you and your friends or not.

I have friends who send me info from time to time for example if one of our forum members reaches a final, semifinal or even wins a tourney I am informed about it.

As for your loses at first rounds I did receive e-mails because of your explanations - balls, surface, lighting etc.

The original debate had value to me. sennoc believes that his volleys are better than Nadal's, I think its a product of the level of competition. If seenoc hit vs a great player, his form would suffer a lot in my opinion.

Thats the video/debate worth having. sennoc hitting against the best player he can find and testing his theory. Perhaps he is 100% right, maybe I am.

As Hunter said, we allowed this once worthwhile discussion to get personal and childish.

I pictured LeeD being about 6'4 with massive shoulders in my mind...

He has a pretty loose looking arm when he serves, wish my arm was like that.

It's pretty cold in Poland during that time, too! Ask for a court that
doesn't face the sun when you serve or ask to have your match moved
to an indoor court. Looking into the sun when you have high contrast
issues makes it even tougher. In ideal conditions for your eyes, you probably
would have won.

OK, I do not see your irony.

My main partner is 5.5-6.0. We play very agressive balls at full speed. We use the best balls and play on a good court, at good conditions. Strong topspins and slices, deep balls, angles etc.

Now imagine that I want to play a recreational tournament. I use quite advanced kinetic chains, many muscles involved. I'm not the youngest one, so I need a long warmup to play with good dynamics. There are no warmups at tournaments here. So, you know one reason - I do not want to risk injuries, my dynamics is wrong.

Second reason - the court. Clay courts here in Poland are very different. I play on a very fast surface, hard clay. I can adapt to a new surface, but I need time, an hour or so. At our friendly tournaments journalists hear: "5 mins on the court and please start the match, we do not have time". Every tournament is played at another centre, on a different surface. So, you know second reason of problems.

Bad lighting is another reason. I'm a journalist, work a lot of time at computers, my eyes hate high contrasts. Polish tennis reality: a few strong lamps just above your head and a quite dark interior. I serve and when I see the ball again, it's close to me. Huge problem.

Fourth reason: technique. If you use an advanced technique, you need perfect timing. You need to know the kick of the ball and you need to see the ball perfectly. So, my technique works against me. Sad but true. If you work on really good technique, better ask yourself about your tennis goals.

Fifth reason: poor combination of balls/racquet/strings. I use the heaviest racquet on the market, k6.1 Tour and Luxilon BBAPR at 24 kG. Prince Tour are dedicated for club players. If a stroke is hit at huge dynamics, the ball doesn't transfer rotation, everything goes into velocity. During the last tournament I saw a former top10 Polish player, he had the same problems. He was able to correct them by huge speed of racquet's head. Unfortunately for me, it's not possible with my racquet without killing my wrist. He was able to make corrections because he is younger and his racquet was lighter and balanced differently. I need a new setup just for these tournaments. I can't decide, do I really want to buy a different racquet to play better at a recreational tournament...

Add very serious wrist problems and you know the answers. I can adapt to new conditions, but I need time. Also, I can adapt to one or two changes, not to five, not in five minutes.

Now you know why I play these tournaments for fun.

Yes, you can say that the conditions are the same for me and my rival. But that's not true. My rivals are ~20 years younger, their eyes too. Their muscles do not need long warmup. They do not need to adapt to new balls because they use them before. Also, their technique is not so extremal as mine. They use power to modify the depth of the ball. I, usually, use rotations. To be competitive at these conditions, I should change my whole style of playing. I do not want to do that.

As you can see, at amateur tournaments good technique can work against you. But ask yourself, what do you prefer: to win against a player like dozu or to loose against Roger Federer? I work to be able to loose against very good players. Playing against them gives me motivation and satisfaction. A win over dozu? Come on...
