only have tried Tour Bite (17g) but I love it. Lasts a long time, easy to string as far as co-poly's go too. Feels much crisper to me than SP Tornado which used to be what I used.

I disagree with that part.
Regardless, it was tb was pretty good in a hybrid, not powerful enough for me to use, barb wire was not very good for me. I like vanquish though.

How is the tension maint for Barbed Wire? I need to try a 1.20 crisper than Cyclone 18 that retains its linearity on big hits. Barbed Wire and Weiscannon Silverstring seem to be the best things to try next. Black Magic didnt have the spin production I wanted but I LOVED the feel.

tour bite is the best. barb wire is really weird feeling. revolution is decent but not as crisp as tour bite

I don't think that you would like Barbed Wire. I never played with it, but in my general experience, textured strings like Barbed Wire have poor feel..

Thanks, I hadnt considered Revolution because it is blue and I dont want to have a "spiderman" colorscheme going with my Prestige.
Might try tourbite then... any all courters or S&V-rs gonna recommend barbed wire cause a guy at the local racket club swears by it? Do barbed wire and Tour Bite last 10 hours at say 52 lbs?
Right now Im planning on trying Tour Bite and Silverstring 1.20 to replace cyclone 18 which is a nice string that is depriving me of my one of my biggest weapons (though it's so good on returns and serves it kinda makes up for it).

I have reels of the Tour Bite 17, Tour Revolution 18, Outlast 18 and Tru Feel 16. All the poly's are stiff. Outlast is the softest, but still stiff. Tru Feel is a multi. It's got a lot of texture, but a few of the people I've strung it for weren't impressed. I've gotten good feedback about the other 3, but most people say they should have dropped the tension a bit more. The Outlast 18 is quite a bit stiffer than Big Hitter Blue 17. All produce lots of spin too.
I remember thinking that the Outlast 17g was ok, but that it really didn't "outlast" other polys.
I had a lot of fun with Tour Bite, however. I remember thinking that it was worth the premium over the Outlast (and that I would not try Outlast again). It did provide greater spin than other strings, but I needed more time to evaluate other characteristics. If/When I return to tennis, I'll revisit TB.

No way for me to say how you will feel about it, but I've been getting 4-5 weeks out of Tourbite mains/ Gosen Sheep crosses. 50/56. That's playing hard for 2-4 hours a day 5-6 days a week. Tried TB in a full bed once and didn't have any control. In a hybrid it's my favorite copoly though.
Did you find it stiff? I tried revolution at 52 and found it much harsher than tour bite at the same tension. Perhaps it is better suited to a tension in the 40s?

I tried Tour Bite 17 for the first time last night in my Redondo 98 @ 52lbs. Loved it! Great spin with some good pop. It felt similar to a fresh bed of Pro Hurricane 18 but didn't notch nearly as fast - hopefully that means it'll retain playability longer than the one match Pro Hurricane 18 was good for.
If you're currently playing with Cyclone then you will love Barb Wire. I go back and forth with these two strings and it's hard to say which one I prefer more. I will say that the Barb Wire will give you a little more spin compared to Cyclone, but to me the feel between the two is close. I would say give the BW a shot at the same tension that you're playing your Cyclone with and I think you'll be very happy with that.

Only strung up a racquet with the tour bite (haven't played it yet), but I was impressed with the feeling of the string - feels high quality like a luxilon string.
I'm a high top-spin (almost semi-western), high swing-speed player:
Revolution 17g (1.20) felt pretty good as well, but I preferred the TB 1.20, as did my hitting partner.
The revolution produced more of a crisp, cracking sound as the ball impacted the stringbed. The feedback was more instantaneous (This was in a APD-GT, and probably ~56lbs, full bed for both strings). The TB felt more muted, and a bit more trampoline-like, but not so much that I couldn't control the ball. I suppose the Revolution would then rank higher in the "feel" category, for most.
I was able to produce good spin with the revolution, but I couldn't help thinking that the TB provided extra flexibility in my hitting choices - I could be more confident about shots that would normally sail long.
The TB turned out to be an excellent choice for my 18x20 PT-280 as well, but the comparison isn't valid.
I could see how one poster claimed that the Revolution was better for his all-court game: perhaps it was slightly better for volleys. I found the TB to have an edge overall. Both strings maintained decent playability for many hours...they didn't simply die on me.
I don't think that the flat profile of the Tour Bite would be as susceptible to "rounding" abrasion like other shaped polys. It should maintain that profile longer, but I'm not sure.
Neither string is particularly tough on the arm.
That said, I'd still like to experiment with Gut mains / Poly Crosses...

Try the barbed wire with gosen on the mains. It is so much better.

I have tried all four sets of Solinco and I think that Tour bite is by far the best of the four. The spin production and power Tour bite provides is amazing without sacrificing any control, but best of all the feel of it is sublime. It feels great when strung throughout the entire racquet, but feels just as good when strung in a hybrid as well. Tour bite is such a versatile string and it is not that expensive when compared to Luxilon and RPM. I used to use RPM and and would get frustrated when the string would die. After trying tour bite, RPM feels like garbage to me. Barb wire and outlast come in close second because both play softer when compared to tour bite but they do not generate the same spin. Revolution is a great string but I can't tell if it is supposed to be similar to the tour bite or the outlast which is why I have it in fourth. Solinco is a great string brand and very underrated in today's string market.

I actually found it more forgiving than Tour Bite. It was strung at 46.
