What was the last movie you watched?

"Beginnings" with Ewan MacGregor and Christopher Plummer. My wife loved the range of emotion one experiences in it, I've never felt E.M. has the gravitas to carry a film, still don't.

Super 8 was pretty solid. Kinda Spielberg-esque in a good way. Most likely going to be the best 'big summer movie' this year.

Thor was meh. Green Lantern was meh. X-men First class was a little better.

Hangover 2 was bad. I want my money back for that one.

Planning to skip Transformers 3.

The mechanic with a few good friends. But the movie really let everyone down. I will not suggest anyone to watch.

Wow lotta people go to the cinema then feel disappointed when it turns out the films they see, like Hangover 2, Thor, X-Men no.6,000,000, Green Lantern, are crap. It's really not that much of a surprise guys....

"Bad Teacher". Plenty of good laughs, moved briskly, didn't waste too much time on the obligatory character growth/lessons learned that Hollywood forces on its comedies.

Toy Story 3. Didn't think a pink teddy bear could be such a hateable character. The end was one of the most well done heel turns in recent movie history.

Well I've been watching quite a few movies the past two days. AMC had some sweet marathons on. Watching Batman Begins currently, but yesterday I watched Magnum Force and some of The Enforcer.

The American television show "60 Minutes" had a segment that featured a film that showed street scenes from San Francisco in 1906. This inspired me to watch my DVD of Vertov's "Man with the Movie Camera" again. The film has great editing and fascinating images of Russia from the late 1920s.

I just watched the recent version of "True Grit" with Jeff Bridges again. I've been disappointed with Hollywood films for years now, but this one is pretty good.

Arthur (2011)

Brand is almost perfect for the role and I liked Helen Mirren, but everyone else doesn't fit into their roles. Jennifer Garner can't channel her femme fatale anymore, Arthur's mom was colder than she should have been, etc etc. But I highly recommend listening through the soundtrack.

Also, Greta Gerwig is pretty hot.

Sucker Punch. It's kinda like Inception, but not as deep. Good film, and I was asthetically mesmerized for the entire film too. :p

Fantastic Mr. Fox and Toy Story 3.

Absolutely loved Fantastic Mr. Fox, thought it was brilliant. Didn't really enjoy Toy Story 3, but I can see how it is appealing to younger viewers and to those feeling nostalgic.

Resident evil: extinction.

Ho Hum. Mila still hot. A few action sequences and zero mindless plot.

Few previous movie cast members killed off.

5/10.

Just came back from Deathly Hallows Part 2. Really good but a some parts were different from the book and left me disappointed. Overall, great movie.

"Transformers -- Enough Already" features fine special effects but they forgot to include a movie. "Horrible Bosses" features new and varied twists on bathroom humor, not a particularly good film but enough good laughs for a July film to make it worth a try.

(note -- The underappreciated Colin Farrell gives a brilliant little comic performance in "Horrible Bosses" -- I didn't even realize it was him until the closing credits.)

why do people even bother going to see blockbusters like anything transformers related? i just don't get it. and once again, if shia leboeuf is the future of action movies, with his utter lack of charisma, presence, looks, acting ability, charm or ability to involve an audience in whatever is going on on-screen, then god help hollywood. they've backed the wrong horse this time, there had to be someone better out there than this PH neutral nothing.

Because Hollywood has been peddling crap for so long that the masses have come to accept said crap as the standard for "good".
