No1e's Racquet

Yes Torres, let's do just that, rewrap the grip. While I'm at it, I'll just pass the racquet around for a play test, I'll just have it restrung if the strings break. No biggie that this is prized piece of memorabilia, more important that we satisfy your curiosity. I'll get right on it, keep your eyes peeled Torres.

What's the point of buying it then if all you're going to do is put in a glass cage? Removing the grips is hardly laser cutting the racquet longitudinally just to see what's inside the handle.

Fabfed bought the racquet, not you!So he can decide what he wants to do with it and what not...If you wanted to know what is underneath the grip so desperately, you should have bidded on the item yourself!
Stop being so greedy and be happy with what he has shared with us.

Ohhh, get out of here already. Tell me why Fabfed would want to remove the grips just to statisfy some random TT poster's curiosity... That makes no sense at all.

My mother has a bunch of collectables in a glass cabinet - one of the things in there is a double-sided translucent silk embroidery that I bought in China in the 1980s - I imagine that it's worth far more today than what I paid for it - the amount of hand-labor that goes into one of those is considerable.

If you want to find out what is inside, then feel free to buy one yourself and open it up. This particular frame was used to win a Wimbledon final and that's something special to the owner and that's all that really matters.

You're such a buffoon! All you do is troll around threads trying to start trouble. You didn't pay a dime for this frame so why do you have the right to sit there and tell FabFed what to do with it...you don't so now off you go boy.

I will do better than that, I'll have it balanced on a board and post the pics and measurement, as I had done for the Fed and Rafa stcks, just give me a little time.

HI again, thank you and I am sorry I must have missed your posting of the balance of Fed and Nadal stick I remember in the begining you did not want to do it in fear of damaging their stick so you must have changed your mind, or I might have confused flex measurement with balance eaither way that is awesome and congrats one more time.

My theory is btw that he is using LM radical frame with LM ridges removed and leaded to his specs so if you really wanted to compare mold I think you cannot come closer to noles stick than LM radical mid plus AND its probably cheaper and easier to buy it than Discontinued TI Radical MP or more expensive MG radical MP .

Mg Radical might come closer IF his flex is in fact 51 like it was measured earlier by Greg and of course MG does not have LM ridges but knowing that the used LM Radical and H22 (which to me felt exactly like my leaded LM Radical) I suspect its LM radical under the paint :)

A LM Radical MP mold with LM ridges removed is the same as the Ti.Radical MP, i.Radical MP, and MG Radical Mold.

FabFed, can you tell us how much lead he uses under the bumper?

Great shots btw! Love the close up comparison between the painted carbon fiber and the carbon fiber on the production IG. Cheers!

cmon, man lighten up on the guy. He just spent a ton on an extremely rare racquet.

There is no radical available that you can put the lead the way Djokovic has it and expect it to perform the same. Only a pro stock radical is light enough throughout the hoop *especially lower hoop* to add the long strips of lead and not have an undesirable power gradient where the lower hoop is more powerful than the upper hoop.

It's not trolling, you fool.

If I spent $4,000 on racquet I'd want a forensic analysis of it, and every spec down to the last mm and 0.5g.

Heck, even I measure my racquets down to the mm BP, SW, static weight and everything else down the to nearest 0.5g.

If you've ended up with the World No.1's racquet, the biggest question would have to be "What are the specs?".

That's hardly controversial. Not my fault that the OP has gone hypersensitive at the suggestion of pulling the grips off.

Dude let it go. Fabfed is not you. You didn't end up with the world #1's racquet. If you ever do then you can do with it what you want. In the mean time you can't expect everybody to want what you want. It's not all about you. Fabfed does us a favor by posting the pictures and answering most of the questions. You should be grateful instead of complaining.
If you are so desperate for answers then you should've outbid him.

Obviously, the OP thinks differently on this subject. He bought the racket as an addition to his already great collection, and he wants to keep it in its match-played condition. If you had bought it, you could do anything from removing the overgrip(s) to cutting it up and analyzing it. Just respect what Fabfed wants to do, as he has stated that he will do his best to satisfy our curiosities about Novak's racket.

Yea, we get that, but i don't see how removing the grips would help in calculating the specs. Do you expect to find some gold plating under there?

In theory, I completely agree with you, yet others would be more likely to appreciate the validity of your points if you softened your tone a bit.

Though I fully support Fabfed's decision of keeping it as pristine as possible (this coming from a guy who cut up a PT167A and a pro stock Speed with a hacksaw just for fun, but this doesn't mean that I can imagine myself in his position), I say gently hitting 5 balls with it just to see how it feels like shouldn't be all that terrible. I think what FF is most afraid of here is scuffing it from mishits and accidental scraping on the ground, and I'd be too if I'd have it, especially since a lot of money have been paid for it.

Had this been a large vintage sports car collection, I'd be catastrophically angry had he never driven one of them, like the sultan of Brunei.

I am in a position to buy something like this and my original intent would have been to hit with it (hopefully without hurting myself), but I do have to appreciate FF's view on it and after the discussion here, might change my mind.

If anyone knows of another source for these (Wimbledon or not) please put me in touch. I asked one of my sources if he could get one and the answer was no.

Hi there movdqa, wondering if you could point to the thread. Been curious as to what a Wilson H22 looks like, never seen any pics. Thanks.

That's my thread, and my pics of the h22s. I got out a metric tape and measured the beam width, and the h22 is thicker, but not by much. I have two of them used.

Angry, I am not (perhaps on classic car collectors, bar Leno who actually drives his), rather a bit saddened. Maybe the racquet is speced so that it would actually benefit him? It's a mystery that will never be answered.

Lucky guy.

360 g. strung, gripped, with lead at 3 and 9, and silicone in handle, foam dug out a little, and bal. is 32.5cm, and it's set for serve/volley with head a little light. I had the first job with vs team/alu power, and then to vs team/and a variety of crosses, and bhbr/nrg2.

Oh, and to Rovex and BobFL, seeing as both of you have mocked and derided me, the decent thing for you guys to do would be to not read or post comments in my thread, but I suppose that's too much to ask of you.

You know something's wrong when someone is playing the victim In order to gain sympathy he doesn't really deserve. I wouldn't talk about trolling with this endeavour to incite a flamewar but that's to be expected from a big baby however I'll be patient with you.

It would be nice to view this thread without all the bickering.

You have to trawl through the crap in the other Fabfed threads to find the nuggets.

Lets keep this one clean eh........

Some of the specs coming out in a few hours, stay tuned :)

We are as tuned as Djokovic's racquet

P.S. Agree with the observations with regards to the male cow droppings posts from some of the posters. If you're not interested in what this thread has to offer...please bugger off and stop bothering other people who may be interested and are forced to filter out your bullsh1t.
Cheers.

Tennis Warehouse should buy up some of the Pro's racquets and blog the specs on TW University - that would be worthy!

I noticed that TW has changed the wording on at least some of their model pages to "endorsed by" which seems more accurate. I should check the pages for Federer and Nadal for the terminology.

I saw that too! It seemed new on the Instinct with Pova and Berdych I believe...
