General question:

1. Does a tennis vibration dampner lift your sweet spot, drop your sweet spot, shrink your sweet spot or do nothing at all (besides sound and perhaps feel).

That is the question...

Sup wants a general twmac census answer?

Does nothing except change sound and feel. It may slightly affect weight and balance (but I assume that effect would be minimal.)

To me, just changes the sound. Feel is so subjective, and for most of us, it's been a long time since we played without those cute little gizmos.

I disagree - BTW- I found it last night. LOL! I guess I hid it in the last place I though anyone would look, including myself - in a hidden pocket in my lunch bag. *Does Tsonga Dance to Zune Tunes*

i am happy you found it. anything you leave behind at that place you never ever see again. we had people forgetting ipods, phones, etc.

Re: dampener

I knew the twmac would answer in such a positive way.

Tennis monkey,

Hit with the exo3 tour. Felt like driving a caddy. Smooth, no feel, powerful, and waving at the girls. I almost fell for it until....odd enough my elbow started to hurt. Maybe it's the light weight or the flex didn't agree with me. Sweet racquet for keeping one's shots deep with little effort.

My Blx 95 are going strong. However I am still searching for a good string set up. The prince had a multi, then a poly. I liked the multi....prince attack? Mainly the feel, but not the bite. Currently stringing at 57 with adrenaline.

i'm not surprised. if you ever venture to the bars nears the back, you'll see many night gowned hoochie mamas wearing too little and showing too much. i've often wondered how much they cost and whether if they spoke engrish at all all..

some of them are decent eye candy tho and would get a lifetime membership to TWMAC issued by zap. i think zap, PP mayo and schmad should team up and rescue some of those from the slave trade.

schmad.. email me,

i'm shocked and dismayed that there is possible gang activity at eden center. okay i'm not shocked. or dismayed. but who wants to come with me tonight when i go get me some delicious crawdads vietnamese style from eden center?

sup the exo3 tour -- did you try the 16 mains or 18 mains? i ask because the 18 mains for me is the difference. it's pretty much the same string density as a 16x19 on a 98 square inch head. and i'm able to use 17 or 18 gauge string. with far far far better touch and control. to me the 16x18 ozone tours i had were just like you described. no touch, powerful, spinny, no feel.

sappy -- besides pink ranger sporting a chubby. i can't help but notice yellow ranger has quite the gut. fighting mighty morphins isn't the cardio workout you'd think it is.

I tried the 16 x 18. I've not been a fan of the dense string patterns. Maybe I was afraid that I would like the pattern, grow a justin beemer haircut, admire all that is Safin, and start hitting with so little spin that scientist use my shot trajectory to calibrate their instruments. Also, I learned my lesson from the Prestiges and Exo Rebel.

However, I think you may have something when it comes 18 mains for the EXO tour. The dense string pattern would allow for a little more grab, and perhaps counter the low flex. Either way, it's a nice racquet. My elbow just doesn't like it.

Do you lead the racquet? Or just put hot sauce on it and call it a day?

p.s. I am thinking of replacing the grip to leather or perhaps the Wilson Pro Hybrid.

On another note. I must resist.. but something about the Adidas line reminds me of the beloved Lotto outfits I couldn't find. Sup with Adidas? The end must be near.

Oh, lord. They've gotten on frame specs and vietnamese food again.

JR....sorry the munchkin is under the weather. We've been suffering a bit here too. Eldest had the runny nose part, youngest the hacky cough. Me? Mine slipped into full-blown bronchitis. And mayhap, a short step away from pneumonia. Getting the xrays done tomorrow.

Have a BIG, BIG local tournament next weekend and the last thing I need are doc's orders to not play. Partner and I have busted our little patootees for three years to qualify to be our club's reps...and just squeaked it in this time. Pretty cool semi-charity event (so they say) and I'll post a link once they've got one going. Each club sends teams at each level from 3.0 to 5.0, M W and Mixed...and you play kind of round-robin w/points to determine an overall "club" winner for the Metro area. Sat night exo is the top club pros slugging it out.

Hope the kids feel better AQ! I don't need a sick kid to pull me off the court, this weather is doing it alone. I hope all this time I'm putting into the gym is paying off.

you aren't american if you don't buy adidas. just look at these:

Barr4USA.jpg

sup: tight string pattern on a 100 sq in racquet = open pattern on a 98 sq in racquet. same spacing. same amount of spin. better feel. better control. less elbow pain. give it a go. i've done lead on the upper hoop and no lead. my current project is full poly and no lead. poly already weighs more than multi or syn gut.

sick kids are no fun. they look miserable. you feel miserable for them. they leak fluids out of lots of places.

so i've got a singles tourney this weekend and because of the weather, i haven't hit all week. i'm gonna be awesome. :|

JRS,

If you are watching the season premier of 2 1/2 men.. they just busted on people who had a zune (Alan had one). I laughed.. and then laughed ...and then got a drink of water from the kitchen and laughed.

The white version of JRS?

lets review a couple of things that zune pushed out before apple.

1. radio
2. wide screen that is direction oriented for movies
3. wireless connection
4. better computer interface for music download
5. ability to share music across players without computer connectivity.

however i'm sure the bandwagon for apple fan boys is wide and comfy with plenty of room for those that doesn't want to compare feature and strive for innovation.

typical sapient response. i listed two of apple's worst failures of all time. of all time.

there was a 32gb zune for sale yesterday for $99. was tempted but wasn't sure if you can control the zune from a car's stereo deck like an ipod. may wind up getting an old ipod mini just for the car.

Hey JRprostaff.

I have fallen for another. I love my BLX, but I tried out a racquet that makes life on the court a lot better. Seems that years of playing with the Babolat Pure Drive XL could not be remedied by training with a standard length racquet. This old dog couldn't learn that old trick.

So I went with a racquet that was extended which plays very similar to my BLX 95.

On day #3, so hoping it's a keeper.

I'm right there w/ ya brotha! I've been playing with Pure Storm GT (standard length) and been really digging it. I haven't had back to back good hitting days since my college days and I too am on the verge of retiring my Pro Staffs to wall decor...

It did feel weird hitting w/ (and liking) a new racquet... I felt all dirty like I was being unfaithful or something ha!

They remade total recall btw (sans Arnold).. do you remember the girl at the bar --- your quote brought up that image.

Hahaha thanks. Yeah somewhere in the back of my mind, I had a fuzzy memory of said girl from some movie but couldn't quite put my finger on it.

Talk about selective memory. I can remember my gym locker combo from high school, but I couldn't remember what I had for lunch yesterday.

Paulman,

Reston (aka The woods of Endor), was my haunt for a good decade or so. I wonder if we met? If you know who Rob or Mary were, then we probably met. How about MrHan. JRS? The Conejo?... Bruce WIllis moved... all aka names, but just wondering if we met.

JRS?

Have I met Paulman? If he is asian.. then that's too vague. If you say he is asian and drives an american car.. then may narrow it. If you say he is sian and doesn't gamble. Then I bet against that even being true.
