A lot of people are moaning about the new Vapor 9, saying that it no longer looks like a proper Vapor.

Which is your favourite Vapor design that Nike ever released?

I like the look of the Vapor 6 the best. Some of the current pj'd ones Fed is wearing are excellent. The gold ones you posted as well as his US open shoe from that year look great as well.

To be honest, I love them all except the Vapor 2 and the new Vapor 9's coming out :p lol the vapor 8's not my favorite either

The 2's look really out of place here. Just seems like a random addition from another line of shoes.

Personally the 1's, 5's and 6's do it for me.

blue and white... vapor speed

and vapor 7... i only got 1 vote... so i voted for the speed... but i'd give my 2nd preference to the v7... dont know why ppl like the 8s
they are horrible in look and quality

This thread shows why the new Vapour 9 is going to suck big time. 6 gets my vote.

I don't know. I remember when the 8 came out, there was a real backlash. And now just less than a year later we can see that it rates quite highly.
Maybe after a few months people will come round. I like it personally.

V. 6 sucks. I bought a few pairs and I don't know why. Stiff garbage. I'll take 7 over 6. The Vs were perfect. Comfortable, supportive without being stiff plastic junk, and looked by far the best.

i loved the vapor v's and vi's. If anyone has a pair of black vapor v's in a size 9 id be willing to trade one of my 6's.

I thought the vapor speed were the second ones? The s2s were sold in 04 and the speeds in 05, obviously followed by the V3 in 06 etc.
My favorite vapors are the V! Would love to get them in the custom color Federer wore in Madrid

The OP got the order a little wrong. The Vapor S2 were the first (2004]. Then it was the Vapor Speed (2005). And before that, it was the Nike Zoom Breathe Free (2003).

I didn't know that! Thanks for correcting me, that is interesting, I figured "S2" stood for "Speed 2".

I accidentally left my car open with a bag containing my black vapor 5's. Of course they were stolen.
I hate myself now.
we need them to reissues the 1, 5 and 6

Oh no. :(

Black Vapor V's are among the nicest design ever. You do see them now and again on the Bay.

Vapor VI, then Vapor V a bit further behind; the rest (and generally in terms of all tennis shoes) don't even begin to compare.

When I first got my VIs, I thought they were a bit stiff for me...but they grew on me like CRAZY. I seriously savored every moment with those shoes on--they felt absolutely amazing after maybe a day or two of break-in. No shoe I've worn (or ever will wear possibly) has ever come close to how well the VIs fit my foot and just how the felt. The Vapor Vs were ok, I got them after the VIs, but the left shoe is a bit tight. Don't get me wrong--they're still very good, but the VIs win by miles and miles compared to every single other shoe except for the Vapor Vs, which are still mediocre in comparison, for me :p

I'll always miss wearing it :(

Question regarding the Vapor two (Nike Vapor S2):

Were they strictly women's shoes? (Since the pic posted is of Shriekopova)? :)

I voted for the V. Gotta wear the all-black this week just for that. But a close second is the VIII.

I've worn the Vs and VIs (as well as the Air Court Motion Internationals, Barricade Twos, and others) and the VIs are by far the best tennis sneaker I've ever worn, possibly the best sneaker. Besides a pair of Air Jordans (http://www.kicksguide.com/articles/featured/xvi_low.asp) that were super comfortable and a lot of fun, nothing has compared to the VIs (Roger Federer's actual shoe).

Vapor VI

By far the Vapor VI has been the best in the series for my particular foot (long and narrow). It is by far the most stable and supportive tennis shoe I've found to date. The only downside is that the outsoles wear too quickly (herringbone pattern is not the best for hardcourt IMO). I still have three pairs of Vapor VI's and I stock up whenever I find them on the *bay in my size.

Vapor V's were very nice as well.

I'm curious to try Fed's new 2012 shoes . . .

I'm not so sure about this.

The Air Zoom Profiler (e.g. Mardy Fish 2003) might be before the Zoom Breathe Free I, and are much lighter.

I haven't bought a pair of nike in years but the vapor 9 are looking way nicer than any past vapor shoes. When the french open vapor 9 comes out I'm getting it.

The French Open colorway are by far the best colorway I've seen for the V9. I'm curious to see what the difference between the synthetic leather and mesh on the current V9s will be. The mesh on the current colorways of the V9 is very comfortable, so hopefully the SL (synthetic leather) will be as comfortable.
