After watching federer I realized that he is now only good enough to win little micky mouse tourneys!! There was once a time when he used to be a grand slam contender but now his main forte is mickey mouse tourneys..:)

I realize your trolling but Fed won the last 1000 played (Paris) and the WTF. IIRC, Fed has only lost one match since the US Open (and a walkover).

Totally. Federer is lucky to even be on the ATP tour. I mean the only reason he was allowed on it was due to intense lobbying by the Swiss Tennis Federation. I can't believe he even won a major let alone 16. Also winning the WTF last year was a fluke. Nadal and Djoker were tired from trolling the tour for the year.


Seriously, get a clue. We have had one major this year and are just entering the first American hard court swing. I know you Love Rafa, but weak weak weak attempt at trolling and making your boy look good.

I have no doubt that he is rIdiculously good..but he just plays a tad better in small tourneys and of course best of 3 sets help him a lot..

I am not saying that he is not a contender in slams,but he just goes awol in semis or finals...he breezes thru every one but as he reaches the semis or finals he just goes "kaput"

I was defending Roger from such an idiotic thread like this being started about him. And what I said is true. Nadal has not won squat since RG 2011. Not sure exactly why you felt the need to respond the way you did,but I should expect it from the majority of the Fed fans on here.

You know we could say the same thing about Fed,who has only won,iirc,3 masters on clay in his entire career. Nadal is a dirtballer,but he has still won masters outside of clay as well,even if they are few and far between.

5 masters - 4 hamburg and 1 madrid .....

same no as nadal on HC - though no of HC masters are twice in number as CC masters .....

What was Fed supposed to do when he was meeting Ralph(king of clay) in countless clay finals? Fed didn't have SUCH a stranglehold on HC as far as I know.
There were tournies to be won and defended since HC is a majority of the tour, Djokovic did it,Nalbandian did it, so no excuse for Ralph(if you wanna call him an A grade HCer).

Take Nadal out, Fed would have 6 RGs(tied with Borg) and how many clay masters. Gee let me go back and see those stats.

Infact Ralph has a 5-1 H2H on outdoor HC against Fed(which the *******s so pompously brag about) so why doesn't his resume show more HC titles?

I don't because he's not even close. Celoft seems to take great pleasure in rubbing it in that Nadal is a dirt baller. All I did was point out that he has won titles off of clay as well,even if they are a rarity.

And who cares about this silly "King of Clay" crap? Fed is goat,and maybe if he had been less stubborn and changed his game a bit when playing Nadal he wouldn't have lost all those times to him on clay. Fed is good enough to do it so I will never understand why he didn't. This isn't like the Djesus-Nadal match-up where there is nothing Nadal can do to beat him. He's not good enough to change anything up,but Fed is.

Thus its clear, Federer's not happy he's just peaking where he is in his 30's. It's still very high in the tennis world, but he wants to go that one higher, again.

Fed came close on a couple of occassions(Rome 06 especially) but he was outplayed almost 90% of the time in most of their matches. It was always a slope too steep to climb for Fed.

Fed is good enough to win the odd slam/1000 event, but ONLY if he really dedicates himself, and even then, would still need a bit of luck in the draw.

Djoker/Nadal may also benefit a bit from luck of the draw, but given Fed's age, I think he needs that luck noticeably more than they do.

And "they" would state the facts. Federer is old in tennis terms. Look at the history to get some trending if interested. The wine analogy doesn't work in tennis.

I would add nadal's improvement on all surfaces and the slow conditions which decided things in his favor completely. It is not even close these days when they play on slow hard. And in 2009 federer lost in a close AO match in which he won more points. IMO it is a combination of fed declining, slower courts/ balls and nadal improvement.

You know the bad match-up was always there.

The thing that you don't get is that you are making two excuses. You are saying that the courts are only now recently slower (which is false) and that Federer is old. However, if "slow" courts are such a detriment to Federer's game and he is so old then surely he could not perform at such a high level only losing consistently to the same players that he previously consistently lost to.

Federer is an old man when he actually starts playing like one.

I agree courts were slowed down back in the beginning of last decade, but from comments and opinions one can incur the process is ongoing. There was a video showing the difference of pace in Wimbledon between 2003 and 2008 for example. The speed was reduced by 10 mph iirc. You almost certainly have heard of the perception of this year's playing conditions in Ao. There are many more examples with possibly the exception being fo 2011 which faster due to babolat balls

Again, nadal is tougher to beat on slow - medium paced hc than let's say 2006 but I personally feel federer is not the same player he was back then. The results against the field display that. I don't see how you can claim the opposite as the hard data clearly indicates you are wrong

Federer had no problem winning all those "slow" court tournaments this year against the likes of Novak and Nadal, now did he?

Just like with WTF, when it looked like he might lose they started claiming that the court was as slow as the AO. However, he ended up winning a very close match against Nadal and all of a sudden it is a fast court again. The reality is exactly what all the Nards predicted, any tournament Nadal won would now be deemed slow, and what ever Federer won would be deemed fast by those fanboys.

I don't know who was calling it fast. If I recall, the court wasn't exactly fast, but the bounce was kept low enough for Federer to take Nadal's forehands with his backhand. In my opinion, that is the only reason Nadal hasn't beaten Federer indoors; Nadal high forehand to Federer's backhand is totally nullified.

But he indeed is playing like an old man, his tennis is so flat, subpeak, sloppy and uninspired these days that I don't know how anyone could argue the claim that he is indeed an old man in tennis terms.

Furthemore according to you players decline at the age of 24 which would make Fed 6 years past his best tennis, that's such a long period, LOL.
