I started playing with the Yonex RD 7 back in 1995 and have been hooked ever since. Since then I've played with the SRQ 500 and RDX 500 MP. I eventually moved to the RDiS 100 MP and now to the Ezone 100. The way Yonex has been going I don't anticipate ever leaving.

Any know if there are 2 standard heavier versions of the RQiS 1 Tour (Black/ Red)? 320 and 295 grams

I currently play the heavier version (listed 320 gram on the throat) and have a hard time looking the same copy. I have 2 other RQIS frames, both have 295 gram listed on the throat. The XL version came at 295 gram as well.

This lead me to believed that the 320g version might be EU model.... I saw one available at the big auction site , seller is in UK.

I'm I correct?

I have an almost new Vcore 98d in the f/s section, if anyone is looking for one. I like the 98d a lot but really haven't had time to try it out since i have been playing so well with my main racquet. Does anyone know what racquet the 98D was an update of? Also is one of the newer Xi models an update to the 98D?

New to the forum. Long time Yonex user since 1993.

My current stick is the V-Core 95d lead up with leather grip, and loving it!!

I have lead and leather on mine. I have a single strip down the length of the throat on each side. Weighs in at about 354 grams. What about you?

And what strings are you using? There is a view that this is a string sensitive racket.

That ezone xi looks pretty tempting. Just wonder how the transition from oval to squarish type racquet goes?

It has to do more about the size, weight, string set up and SW of the racquet. As for having issues with the head shape... it's all mental!

I play with different brand from time to time since I own a few of them other than Yonex i.e. Volkl, Wilson, Prince (mono). As long as the frame is around 12oz to 12.5 - I am good. The only time that it messes me up is when I went for a lighter frame sub 11.75oz.

Hope this helps!

Mine comes in at 360 grams. lead at 3, 9 & 6 and balance is 10 pts headlight. Strung with MSV focus hex at 46 on main and OG sheep at 43 on cross. Both 17G. I'm actually thinking of going to 42/40 since I like a soft string bed.

The 98D was supposedly an update of the RDIS 100 MP.

What grip size is your 98D?

How do you like the racquet a lot if you're not using it?

I had one before and played a lot with it. It was a 3/8, but I use 1/2, so I bought a new 1/2 and haven't got to use it much. I just clicked really well with another racquet and didn't want to rock the boat right now :)

I demo the xi lightly and it is a good racquet to play with, but the oval shape make it seems like the stick is shorter and makes me want to get a + to compensate for it(Yonex doesn't have a + model)

The RQiS Tour 1 came in only two weights- standard (320) and light (295). Whether its US or EU markets, the RQiS was the same.

Yonex RDiS 100 Mid :) I used this racket from a sponsor agreement for 2 years and after the contract ended this year I was considering Head Prestige Pro but after trying that out NOTHING! beats the Yonex

Coming back to Yonex....or at least giving it a shot..
I played with the rdtour 95 for a number of years and then basically moved on to volkl/Becker. I have pulled out the remaining rd tour that I still have and still like the way it feels but I have changed my game a bit and now prefer a more open string pattern.
I have just purchased a ezone 98 which hopefully will give me the best of both worlds. I know I should demo but I have found that I need to spend more time with a frame with my own strings to really evaluate whether it will stay in my bag.

looking forward to it!

You might like the Vcore 97 that is coming out soon. Did you ever try the Ti-80?

How does the yonex 850 multifilament string play?

if possible, in comparison to babolat xcel power

I can't compare with Xcel power but here is what I have after 10 days playing with that string on Yonex Ezone Xi.

Comfort- extremely comfortable, this has to be the next thing in comfort after gut, it is too soft by itself which was actually what drove me away.

Tension- it keeps the tension well for a multi this soft

Spin- no, it's not its strong point, I don't think soft strings can help you with topspin, so this isn't different.

Feel- great feel, you can really feel the ball with this string and have some nice feedback.

Control- for the first 4,5 hours is good, but then it drops a little and just before it breaks you have to be aligning the string almost after every rally, this is after 8 hours. Control is good when compare with multifeel but not as good as Biphase, which is crisp in the beginning.

Power- I'd say it's pwerful but not that bad, you sure get some pop out of it, no doubt, even at 60/58 I was pounding the ball.

Price- that is where it is unbeatable, $12 bucks locally gets me a set, this is one of the best deals I can see. It is very hard to get a good string for comfort/playability/feel that can play this nice.

I hope I helped you.

You should definitely give it try.

I played with a yonex frame after the super rd tour 95 that I think might have been the ti80 it was bright red and was slightly extended and I am pretty sure that titanium was part of the picture. It did not agree with my elbow in fact it was really hard on the elbow which led me to volkl.

Am I making a mistake with the ezone? I have played and played well with the Becker London and the volkl organix 8 315.

First time I played the Vcore 100S, it felt like crap. The spin was just silly, and over powering.

After getting accustomed with it for a month and with much weight increase. It plays like a dream. If only the beam was much thinner, it would have been perfect.

Yonex needs to come out with some more lines wilson has like a billion and head aswell cause right now all we got is Vcore and Ezone lines.

What is the difference between the vcoe and the ezone line. Yes I know ezone has more frames and there are bigger and lighter but there appears to be some overlap -specifically the ezone xi 98 and the vcore 100s . To me it's a bit confusing. Btw I love the ezone 98 - at least for the little I have hit with it. Hope to get more court time soon.

I think the ezone xi 98 plays much softer/more flexible and the vcore 100 is a much stiffer/babolat type frame

I want to know about this string as well, I have been with the Poly Tour HS and think it is great, on Yonex facebook they said it is similar to HS, meaning low power, great tension maintenance and excellent control with 5 sides.

I think I will give it a try even though I don't like shaped poly strings.

Are you refering to the 3 budget frames (made in China: Vcore Speeds and Vcore 100P) and the high-end 2 Vcore Tours (Tour 97 and 89)?

The Speeds and 100 power are made in Japan, as some links and threads show.

I saw this green Yonex EZONE the other day, however couldn't ask the guy who was playing with, looked really nice, but have never seen it before.

I have a problem. I came back to tennis after 10-15 years off. Been playing a good bit (5 hrs a week on Sat and Sun), but mostly drills.

I had an RQiS Tour 2 and loved it. After about a year (wasn't throwing it or leaving it in the hot car or anything like that, although I do bend low and scrape for low volleys) it slowly cracked at the 10 o'clock position and went all the way through. I then bought a VCore 100s. I have had that about 9 months and today I noticed what might be the beginings of a crack at right around the 10 o'clock positon again. The rackets were strung by 2 diff stringers who string lots of jobs locally with no problem.

Is this an inherent problem with Yonex?

I also noted that my VCore's paint job chipped.like.crazy. from day 1, and I mean big honking chips. Could this just have been a bad VCore?

Does anyone know Yonex's warranty policy? I love my Yonex and how it plays, but I can't afford to buy a new one every 9 months.

yonex racquets don't chip. the paint gets scratched. I have played with tons of yonex racquets, and none of them have ever chiped.

honest to goodness this one (the vcore) did.
got it from my family for my birthday, I'm pretty sure it came from TW so I know it is not a fake.
If I can figure out how to take close up shots and post them I will, but the paint job really did chip, some small, some large (almost dime size!)
but the cracking problem is really bothering me....

My 100S chipped abit on the side it's tiny and don't notice it much now, maybe some lead tape on the edge of the racquet to cover it up... but other than that it's all scratches.

I've chipped my 100S a couple of times with my wedding band on my opposite hitting hand. Now I wear my band on a Phiten necklace when I play tennis.
