Miami just became a lot more interesting
Lord,me too. She has become the female version of Djesus this year. PLus I think her attitude stinks and I don't like her on court behavior. Sharapova isn't my fav either(no wta player is,actually),but Azarenka and her "streak" have got to go.
And Nadal really didn't show up to play tonight. Hopefully he realizes now that he has got to be aggressive against everyone, and the running around 15 feet behind the baseline crap is not going to work against these guys anymore. Maybe a new coach,or at least a supplemental coach to work along side Toni would help. And Roig doesn't count because all he really is is a glorified babysitter. He needs a real coach who can get him out of this defensive, mug tennis funk he has been stuck in. The rut is just getting deeper and deeper. Something has got to change.
Off topic:
I'm not a Sharapova fan either, and I'm trying to give Vika the benefit of the doubt. But, I still can't help feeling sorry for Maria.
Maybe it's me, but Rafa just came back and this was his first tournament. He played a lot better than I expected him to. He's usually really rusty, but we can't expect him to come back and be right back in the groove. The Top 4 are levels above the other tour players and if he had beat an in-form Federer with rust still on him, it would have devalued the rivalry, imo.
Great picture of Rafa in the middle of a serve and it shows how still he keeps his head while all the other parts of his body are moving.

So happy for Marc and Rafa and their doubles win. Managed to catch most of the second set on a pirate stream and Rafa and Marc play so well together. Marc was especially impressive. He's fast as a jackrabbit and even though the other teams always pick on him, he holds up his end of the partnership very well. Rafa's so good at the net it's a shame he's not confident enough to do it more often in his singles. Now on to Miami. Vamos Rafa!!!
Full video in HD of Rafa and Marc's doubles championship!!! Watch it while you can as it may get taken down at any time.

It's one of those crazy times that come only few times a year when Clarky21 was randomly correct. It's like someone getting hit by lightening. It happens.
It was bizarre, but you can't win them all. I was happy to see him back on tour and looking hungry to win. I mean, he just got back after a month's layoff, played three easy matches and had to take a huge step up to play Nalbandian who was in great form.
I was delighted to see Rafa win the IW doubles for the second time! That's what he did in 2010 and look at what the rest of his season was like
Rafa and Marc make an amazing team, they beat excellent doubles specialists too. I don't understand why Rafa doesn't play doubles EXCLUSIVELY with Marc. He is 10 times more efficient paired with him than with anyone else. Granollers? Nah. He should stick with Marc, they complement each other perfectly for doubles and they have won 4 hard court titles together (the last 4 Rafa has won). They want to go with someone else for Olympics? HUGE mistake in my humble opinion.
Isn't he great? He's so quick and has such wonderful hands. It's so much fun to watch him play. Rafa has always said that if only Marc had more confidence he could have a much better singles record.Marc is a beast! Check this point out!

I agree. I would love to see Rafa and Marc play doubles in the Olympics and they'd certainly have a good shot at the gold medal. Qualification gets a little tricky though as Spain has so many good tennis players that qualify based on their rankings. Marc has moved up to #23 in the doubles rankings with this win and if he can have a couple more good results, he might be up high enough to make the decision tough for the Spanish Olympic committee. Here's a good article on the qualification rules. http://talkingballs-tennis.blogspot.ca/2012/03/guide-to-olympics-qualification.htmlveroniquem said:He should stick with Marc, they complement each other perfectly for doubles and they have won 4 hard court titles together (the last 4 Rafa has won). +1veroniquem said:You know what they say: even a broken clock is right twice a day. Since no player is gonna spend an entire season without losing a match, if you predict a loss every single time they play, you can be sure at some point, you're gonna be right. I don't think that makes you an intelligent person though (same way the broken clock is not that functional on the whole )
Rafa's in Miami and back at work already. I like how he's accessorized to match the signage around the court. Now, if he just had purple shoes, he'd be a fashion maven.
That is an awful shade of green, imo. Not flattering at all.
Good grief. It's just a practice t-shirt. He often wears two or three different ones in a practice. It's pretty pathetic when people have to start griping and complaining about something so trivial. What a sad and unhappy life you must have Clarky to be so constantly mean spirited. It fades into black, I think. Will probably look better without the cap.Clarky21 said:That is an awful shade of green, imo. Not flattering at all.

Let's have a good Miami Rafito, you only have this year and maybe next year for your best chances at finally getting this thing done.
It's crazy how she complains about everything he does. What bitter person.
You mean: what a bitter troll (can a troll be considered a person?)

Great Nadal is looking good these days - what a handsome man. Much more attractive than the drugged out overrated Fereder who looks like a bitter 50yo drag queen already lol...
Why not? You are aren't you?
My Lord, will you grow up. All I said was I don't like that shade of green and you take it as if I insulted his mother or something. I don't like the color. That dark shade of green is hideous. Shall I apologize for that since you seem to take it so personally?
A person? Yes. A troll? No. I'm sincere, something you don't have a clue about since you only post to do agitprop.
I LOlled for like 5 mins straight.
Ralph's CAKEing, sweety ; don't you worry.
If you mean his draw I disagree, but I have a feeling you meant something else by that statement didn't you, sweetheart.
Nadal's gonna cakewalk to the finals on the slowest court on tour and YOU KNOW IT,Clarky.
Didn't you say the same thing about IW?I just don't think he's playing well enough, and when that is added in with the conditions not favoring him I think it would take a miracle for him to make the final.
IW was a pleasant surprise.
Miami doesn't favour Ralph? Are you high?
Miami doesn't favor his topspin oriented game at all. The conditions are heavy and prevent his shots from kicking up like they should. There is a reason he has never won it,and most likely never will. He sucks there and I have very low expectations for this tournament, and would not be surprised if he lost early.

It's the shirt he wore last year in Montreal and Cincinnati.
Brings back bad memories.

That's the spirit, let it all out now.
Here's a vid of Rafa practicing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfgNESVjIB8
Wow,he looks awful in that practice video. He can barely even find the court with any of his shots. He's not making the quarters with that kind of garbage tennis, and I feel an early loss is imminent just like what happened last year at Rogers Cup.
LOL Clarky. At least you are consistent with your Nadal views from tournament to tournament.
I know my views aren't popular with the hardcore *******s on here, but at least I'm honest about how bad he is playing these days instead of insisting he is going to win 20 slams like some others on here who shall remain nameless.
And he did look awful in that practice video. Horrible in fact.
Well I have to admit that even your extreme cynicism is better than some of those crazy *******s who think Le Nadal can do no wrong ever and is perfect in every sense of the word on every single occasion. That gets to be a bit much I agree with you. Perspective is the key for any fan IMO.
