well from what they told me they will put me to trial even if i dont have a lawyer, so they suggest i get one so i dont get screwed. my parents dont know about this. but yea good call i am going to act real remorseful,etc.
i hope i get probation. i cant do jail time. if i get jail time, you guys wont see me in the MAC anymore

ok ok. i didnt want to post this public. but basically i got pulled over. then officer says i am driving with suspended liscense. so now i gotta go to trial for that. so HW are you serious about doing time for having suspended liscense?????? this cannot be happening. there was no DUI or alcohol or anything crazy.

Zap, chances are you are probably going to extend your suspension. What was the reason for the suspension? Were you coming back from work? If so, you can tell that to the judge. Not sure if Maryland is a right to work state.

i thought i only had one match. thanks for reminding me. i can gauge my confidence level by the number of topspin forehands and backhands i hit in a match. last match i hit 4 topspin forehands and 1 topspin backhand. that's 5 more than i have hit in all my other matches combined.
good luck in your districts or sectionals or whatever you are playing in tomorrow. remember tennis is one of the few places where you are allowed to hit women legally.

Question for you all on match protocol:
My opponents had a ball roll behind them between their first and second serve. After the ball was returned to the court it came from, the server then missed his second serve and started to take a third. My partner and I had already moved to receive the next serve and we never offered him a first serve do over. After that game, the opponent was miffed and said he believed in lets in that case and that is was a rule. In casual matches, I would always offer that my opponent retake first serve, but I didn't here.
So, am I jerk for not offering it? And also, is it some rule I don't know about? Of note, later in the match, the same thing happened to me. I asked the guy if I should take a let since it is a rule... heh. He said only if I felt it interfered. I took my second serve and left it at that. I think if that was the case, you could just take max time between first and second serve waiting for stray balls!
Anyway, got my first two wins at 3.5 level this past couple weeks.

i would've offered two serves to the other team. but it's not his prerogative to just TAKE two. but you should've offered. just like the guy should've told you to take two when it happened to you.

If your opponent has to move more than a few feet from his service stance to retrieve a ball for somebody else, I always offer a let.

I do that. If somebody offers me a let when I don't think I really deserve one, I just hit a 2nd serve.

Dude Im not serious about much, and in this case I was just spouting nonsense so no Im not serious. I would say it all depends on the reason the license was suspended. If you did somethign and knew it was suspended you may in trouble. Even if you do have to do time its just 60 days max so they might throw you in the slammer for a weekend or something. My sister had to do some time becuase she had her car stolen and when she found out who did it she didnt press charges as the guy knew where she lived and she was scared. She had to do 5 days but they her split it up between two weekends.
One thing I am serious about is 86 Canyon had serious bush. look it up before you get locked up that way you will have a fresh mental image in your head and you compare Canyon Bush to inmate bush.

I would have given the guy two more. Unless it was as sinple as he had to reach over and tap it back. If you have a ball returned fromthe other court and they gyu slams it into a dark park it always two. Now you know.
If it was JRK he just hit two first serves.

If your serve has a 50% chance of going in no matter what you do, you might as well blast both serves.

After much experimentation and self-debate, not to mention numerous double faults caused by pushing the second serve, I have come to agree with your profound statement, which you apparently reached through intuition.

Sup ruling:
If the server had to move (considerably) to get the ball from the other court = take two
If his partner got it = second serve
If the server barely took 2 steps and it was quick = second serve
If I'm losing = second serve
If I'm wining = second serve
If I don't care for his/her attitude = second serve
If they are wearing Nike and are nice = first serve
If they are wearing adidas = then I can understand why they need to make sure there is no obstruction that may cause them injury. It's hard enough with adidas on. First Serve

Zap, with something like that, you're not going to the slammer. However, you will not be driving for a very, very long time though (so sell the tag), and prepare to donate your weekends for charity.

The license wasnt suspended then it was just expired so you were techically driving without a license.
You moved and didnt get a change of address on your license. So when they mailed the letter to you you didnt get it. Thats probably a pretty bad excuse. Have you at least since then gone to MVA and re-did you rlicense or are you still driving with he expired one.
They probably dont lock you up, but you will probably end up paying the 500 dollar fine. Probably get the 5 pts and the points from the speeding ticket.
It is your resposibilty to let the MVA or state govt. know where you live it is not the states fault you forgot and let you license expire. Which essentially what you will be saying in court. Its pretty much the worst excuse and last thing a judge will want to hear.
