I thought that Jamie Murray strung with full luxilon in the mid 70's. When did this change?

I don't know if he was testing but that's what he asked for in Rome...

Great post.

Luxilon completely dominates in poly usage. Babolat chips in with some RPM and dominates the natural gut offerings, with Wilson chipping in occasionally with their gut.

What the heck is Flex Infinity?

An MSV-based rough poly with gamma ray treatment for better elasticity and tension retention. Two models, the white one is used by A-Tomic and the carbon black one is tested by Wawrinka.

Considering the stringers don't even seem to know if Isner is using PL II or Red Code, I certainly wouldn't expect that they know what's under the paint.

So you're saying Wawrinka doesn't use RPM blast?

Regarding Isner, he has both strings, i've seen it in his bag. Officially he uses TF, but since his strings came unpacked in stringing room...

It shouldn't even matter to pros since they restring so frequently.

No P1 player strings with them until they arrive (usually on monday); and wait, "that" Levine wasn't Jesse but a young russian (around 1000 ATP I believe) training some big chap out there.

He's never used that when I've strung for him. In Paris this year and last he was using Solinco Tour Bite for the mains and whatever gut he could get his hands on for the crosses.

Interesting that Suarez uses synthetic gut, Li Na prefers Excel instead of gut as a cross and Simon hybrids RIP which is a pretty inexpensive string.

Which goes to show that most of our problems aren't due the molecular formulations of the co-polys that we use and are related to technique and fitness.

I'm not bothered about the pros, I'm curious as to whether BBO would work for me. I love Alu, but its dead after about 3 hours of hitting.

I was THERE. Great tournament, I'll go next year as well . Kukushkin's tension is absolutely crazy for stringing with gut. Full poly...yeah, but gut mains at that tension sounds interesting. Gotta check it out

Williams didn't normally string hybrid. They did full gut.

@tennis_balla, I did in the past (ask ericsson ); coming back to pro stringing after a 4 yrs. lull due to personal reasons.

Add this: almost all gut/multi mains were 5% prestretched, and crosses were 10% prestretched.

There were exceptions, tho.

They have done for the past several months. I know Kukushkin didn't use gut/poly earlier in the year, nor did he at Roland Garros.

Nevertheless, he did it in Rome...and at least once in reverse, too.
