Nadal's presence as a pro has concurred with every single slam that Roger has ever won. Rafa went pro in 2001. Fed won his first slam in 2003. Nadal had been playing as a pro for two years alreeady before Roger won his first slam. So, how can any of Federer's slams have been "pre-Nadal?"

2007 wimby second most exciting match of all time IMO .

2012 AO fourth most exciting ( Borg McEnroe is third )

The last Federer ******* Wimbledon when Nadal skipped it was really exciting actually....

I assume you're talking about the 1980 Wimbledon final? It's a good match, but I actually prefer the previous year's final between Borg and Tanner. Tanner's performance is one of the best in a major final for an eventual loser.

Federer didn't really have that opportunity....and by the time nadal came along it was too late....because he was a bit stubborn to change.

Yes, in other ways it's more satisfying to see how Nadal has responded to the challenge in 2012 so far. He's come out fighting, big time. The Australian Open final was crucial, even though Nadal lost in the end.

I completely agree......

Nadal has never had a positive head to head against Joker on an HC.....

But he fought hard and was only a few points away from winning.

It was amazing to watch.

I think it was the highest level of tennis ever.

Its still boring really.. Who outside the top 3 are still even capable of winning a slam? ROFL It was worse in 2005-2007 though when you only had 2 guys winning everything.. Not at least its a 3 man horserace (kind of) instead of a 2 man race.

Wow.. I don't even want to think about how crummy this damn tour has been for the past 8 years.. How many guys outside of Nadal, Nole and Fed have even won slams in the past 7-8 years? It must be UGLY to look at

A handful of guys IF THAT.... Del Potro (1), Safin (1), Roddick (1) . I can barely think of much more. And two of those guys won a slam 7-8 years ago

Roger would have been on 18 slams if not for Djokovic. I mean who else could have taken possibly the AO 2008 and AO 2011?

Also, it's not a given that Roger would have lost to Rafa in US Open 2011..
