Let me be clear when you come to a tournament that is open to the public and your behavior is what it is and if your parents have condoned it then in this country the freedom of speech act allows me to the liberty to post what I have witnessed with my own eyes ,
And all who have and opinion on me on these forums without meeting me or not not feel free to post all you like ,those that know me from and intelligent position those that don't from a college educated position ! Either way I enjoy all critiques ,kudos to all .

We all have the Right to be Stupid. That's why the 1st Amendment was written.

According to the experts on here he should play college , you can't show up to a junior tourney and drop sets to guys half your size and power and expect to go pro !!

He should play college, get a quality education, and than try to go pro. I don't agree with going pro before college unless u are beating everyone convincingly like jack sock. Even than im not sure. Everyone needs an education!!!

Why do u want him out of socal?

if you followed this kid through the years, you'd know.. some kids mature and their antics stopped when they get older ,but this kid keeps on tricking..

agree, and I think he will go pro, it's all dad has ever wanted in the whole world. Education smedgucation. Never been a priority, so why start now? Don't know how he got to UCLA when turned away by others due to grades/lack of, and other issues socal is familiar with. Good luck on the ATP!

that is truly what I can wish for him.. go pro before the USO and never show his face again in college tennis... give him a few pro tournaments and he will fade into obscurity .. couldn't happened to a better candidate and dad...

Can you explain the antics he does? And what his dad has done? I'm not questioning your assertions just want to hear some specific experiences and instances if possible.

I can name one thing. He was caught cheating yesterday in his semi against Rubin (?) by getting coaching texts on his cell phone. The ump caught it and he was given a warning.

Do me a favor go through all my post and pull up just "1" self promotion ,use that college education of your and pull just "1" then when you can't ,cause there is none you will see why I laugh at the higher educated .

Wow, now I just feel bad that you don't understand what self promotion is. I hope your boy does make it big time, honestly. I just cringe to think about what you are going to be quoted saying in interviews. I'm picturing a more self centered Richard Williams.

Putting him or any of these teenagers on the tour is a tad premature. You can have all the talent in the world, work harder than everyone else, make all the right decisions, sprinkle in some luck and still not make it on the ATP. That's how tough it is and why contingency plans are needed - no matter who you are.

As good as DB is, I think it would've been a challenge for him to even win the 16s at the ZOO this year. His best tennis is definitely in front of him as his frame matures and as he gets his legs. And he's not in a class of one, I can say the same thing about 10-15 other juniors out there right now. We've got some good young kids in the pipeline and in time, TAUT will bring on even more...hopefully a few of them can make it.

It would have been an interesting level set if DB could have won the 16s and played in the junior US Open. That being said Henrik is a great kid. I have played with him a few times and he has a big game. I hope he does well in the junior US open.

Just "1" come on anyone with a high school ed could do that ! Just 1. That is less then 2 and more then 0 just 1

I will help you start off with the definitions of the words your using "self" and "promotion" and then you will see right away is what you accuse and what exsist can be reseached !

Just curious he won the regional Nats 18's in So.Cal semi'd at both super nats 18's winter/clays , round of 16 at the Zoo and he should now go back and play the 16's at no.8 in the Nation boys 18's ,not getting your math .

Please explain ?

And for the one caught, assume 10 other slimy tactics per match by dad and player, and you get an idea -legendary, luckily most people never run into this kind of player/level of cheating in their entire career. He's a pro at that already, lots of training time spent on that.

the thing is with this kid,he does it so blatantly with the umpires there, like he's testing the system ,how far he can get away with it... this past season he was defaulted in a USC/UCLA match for being warned and still going on with his antics.. this is why he needs to go pro.. he won't be able to do anything with all those line judges there....

I have two untold legendary tales that are brow raising and they will remain under lock and key as I'm a karma guy. Hopefully I have instilled in my kid the importance of always, always taking the high road no matter what but fighting like H-E-double hockey sticks until the last point has been played. Nothing makes a parent more proud than watching his/her kid win or lose with dignity.

Let's just say he is not the people's choice to win the Zoo!

You just don't get it, but good luck.

Remind me who are you coaching from scratch with no background in tennis ? What is he/she doing under your guidence?

Oh I get why you have no answer to explain to me, you have not b:oops:een near these results you or your player ,no problem .

The math is easy. He is ranked 557 in junior ITF and could not gain entry into the Junior US Open. I think he would have won the 16’s and gotten the wildcard into the tournament. I would love to see how he did against the best juniors in the world.

And there you have it. SELF PROMOTION!! I guess the bait was tooo tasty to pass up. I enjoy this part of it. This is when number1coach starts the patting his own back syndrome. Wants to know what everyone else has "developed" from "scratch" with no background! Yawn yawn. Till the next loss

I think he's a great player but I don't believe he would've won the 16s. Developmentally, I think it was the right move for him to play 18s. He earned it too.

Don't worry he will probably head to NY , I think your right about his results in the 16 's , are thought on development is playing to your level and challenging yourself to improve not sandbag and build false confidence .

First you sound a bit jealous, and envious that he can get away with things you don't even dare to try.

Dennis is actually a great kid, period. The fact that he just got a nice payday for years of efforts on the part of he and his family should be applauded not bashed.

I don't give a hoot what he's done in the past or the future the simple fact is the kids is a very, very good tennis player. He's big, strong, smart and uses gamesmanship in his favor...grow up and smell the can balls dude. You're still living in the 80s.

Sportsmanship, shmortsmanship look at what Baghdadtis did to four rackets. Sorry but I don't like years of efforts bashed so applaud him, focus your energy on something a bit more productive and move on.

And in case your curious I know all about his antics from the 12s on. So don't give me any lip service please just get your *** of the bash train.

I could imagine you showing up to a college science class to give a lecture and give the supposable facts and reasons for your supposable project and everyone would say wheres your data, your project ? Your response would be "I have nothing to show ,no data , no proof I have tested anything but please hear me out !!

The kid that shows up with it and gets and A, is a self-promoter in your book , BUT he got the A.

btw who have you developed ?

He did, and does spend time in Florida. And yes on the court he does take on a more defiant, antagonistic, hostile personality. But so what. That is actually the making of a very good future in tennis. Off the court he's a great kid.

Elite players on the court as juniors are widely known for having defiant, antagonistic personalities. That is one of the personalities that elite coaches look for. How is the player on and off the court.

Off the court gentleman. On the court ***$ holes. Honestly the elite coaches look for this.

Show me the biggest jerks on the court, athletic, and tennis talented and I will show you a top 100 player in the next 5 years.

No apology necessary.

My guess your son lost which further proves my point. On the tennis court, honesty, integrity, sportsmanship are NOT part of the success formula. Sorry. In life yes, on the court it stays in car.

Dude your a sore loser. Your still living in the 70s where tennis was a gentleman sport. It's not anymore. Time to move on.

You really lost me, and now I am really curious about your thought process....

When I said I heard he was a jerk ( he has a reputation that has travelled across the country), I wasn't referring to antics.

But, you are saying it for me.

On the tennis court, honesty, integrity, sportsmanship are NOT part of the success formula.

So, according to you, honesty is not part of the success plan.

I don't think you can be dishonest at a professional tournament though...

Who is going to sponsor this kid on the pro tour with this kind of reputation?

And btw, I pray you are not a coach..........

Sounds like it was a good day. Listen, please don't let this thread get hijacked into a morality test of what's right or wrong. My point is let the refs, code deal with that.

Only reason I'm here today is because I don't like everyone pulling out that card when the kid won.

By honesty I mean things like coaching, time delays etc. come on man there is way more to tennis then just line calling. It's so blatant that you can't just refuse to accept that it is possible. But it is, and continues and will continue. You just have to deal with it and move on.

But don't take the win a way from him.

I guess. The fact that he won the added "drama" makes for the dialog. Whatever, he's a good player, very young, a monster game with a passion (almost counter intuitive) to succeed and a real disdain for losing.

As far as who will sign "a player like that" guaranteed almost everyone.

All morality issues aside, sounds like a player to me.

Dang I forgot , helped teach him to walk , bath , eat , ride a bike ,be disiplined to train at the highest level , hold the door for women of all ages , be respectful to all , strive in his studys , not break the law , look to help others and from the outside you see this and say "wow what a solid kid" sorry to burst your bubble its called parenting not gifted not special . This is not self promoting this is the duty of every parent .

Because I have worked hrs. upon hrs. with him to help him become what he has become I am sorry your off on what gifted is ,he is not , your probably one of the foolish ones that hears M. Jordan talk about how he practiced up to 8 hrs a day and think he was gifted ,Mike explains the gift "8hrs a day"

DN is a nice kid who I have met. He has very good offcourt sportsmanship and on the court, he plays very huge and stoic. he doesn't whine or cry like other players do after every point. he can be quite intimidating to other players.

Socal10s I looked through your previous threads from years past about DN and it looks like you have a real grudge against him. He may have cheated when he was younger, but as of recent the past few years I have yet to see anything wrong. Espically since all the tournaments he plays the umpires and line refs call each ball since he played junior grand slams and future events, and oh at kalamazoo theres an umpire on every court, every match, and from quarters onward the line umpires are making all the calls, and he still won the tournament. I saw him play his semi-final and final, and he just outplayed both players. So don't take this win away from him with your negatory comments and bashing of him. Also regarding him being "defaulted" at usc, that is incorrect. He had a code for tossing his racket, and later received an overrule down 5-2 in the second set, he saved a few match points with Nguyen serving and was up 40-15 serving 4-5 and Nguyen hit an approach down the line which DN called wide and he even hit a passing shot past Nguyen and the umpire overruled him and gave him a game penalty for a second overrule... Isn't college 3 overrules before a game penalty? Also everyone in the stands were saying the ball was wide. Why in the world would he call it out even though he got there and hit a passing shot and was up 40-15. BTW USC still lost that match even due to the game penalty, so USC couldn't even win with biased refs. In end just stop bashing the poor kid for his mistakes when he was 12, he clearly is a different person now, so respect that and what he did at kalamazoo double crowning. Not many people can say they have done that in the same year.

^^^ are you guys all crazy mad ... I have not said he cheated this year... and do I really need to repeat? I am saying ,he needs to go pro... to win the way he did ,especially with this strong group .he doesn't belong in the juniors or college tennis .. he's won a tournament with at least 2 pros playing.. Alexios is strong and he's a pro.. M Kruger has declared himself as a pro..

aww man I wanted Alexios to win.. but this may be a blessing in disguise ... hopefully DN can turn pro and forever leave SoCal and UCLA ..

well according to your post you want him out of socal, so clearly you have something against him. I'm curious what antics your talking about? He doesn't do anything really worth mentioning as of late the past few years. I would say the antics of the Harrison brothers are far worse than DN.
