Raonic have a 2290 points on ATP Race list, Tipsy has a 2730.......
He can.
Nadal won't play WTF.
Delpotro(left wrist) and Ferrer(virus) may not be able to make it either.
1. Federer
2.Djokovic
3. Murray
4. Berdych
5.Tsonga
6.Tipsarevic
7.Almagro ( I hope this guy does not make it.....him on Indoor Courts is not a pretty sight to see)
8. Raonic
Raonic has a better draw to quarters that it looks at first. R2 he gotta beat Baggy which he will do. In 3rd round he beats Tsonga, mark my words. Then he hits the Kei Guy and all bets are off.
^ ^ You know he's going to be making a lot of WTFs in the future. I mean, he's already creating irrational haters who go thread to thread downing him.
Baggy will be tough: 50/50, Tsonga he is not going to win against and Kei has his number. He is not picking up many points in shanghai.
He wasn't all that solid against Matosevic.
The test will come when he plays Bagdahtis next, 3 am EST...
He is playing doubles as well.
possible, very tough though
he needs a breakout performance in the Masters, which have a very tough format with everyday play for 6 matches

Well, doesn't it also depend on how the people in front of him place?
For example, whether he qualifies has to do with how well Nico Almagro does.
Not a sound decision, when he might have to play Tsonga the next day.He is playing doubles as well.
Almagro and Monaco lost in Shanghai! Raonic chances increases....IMO it's better to see Raonic in WTF than CC Almagro or Monaco...

But he can learn a lot from Melzer, so the partner's good.
I hope he does. I want him to pick up where Joachim Johansson left off a few years ago, minus all the injuries.
Monaco just won a title on indoors HC a few weeks ago, and made Valencia HC final last year. Not much but that's still more than Almagro who really is a true clay specialist. TBH neither one is truly what you'd think of when you think top 10 players.
Raonic can't qualify... Tsonga is #8 so he's the guy to beat. Well, even if Raonic wins Shanghai, he still hasn't got more points than Tsonga. So he needs to win Shanghai and still has to go a few rounds deeper than Tsonga in Bercy. So.. no

You miss a point man!Nadal probably won't play on WTF, THIS THREAD IS BASED ON THAT!
Oh shoot, I forgot that for a moment. Well, it's still very difficult since Tipsarevic doesn't seem like the guy to go out early. Think that Raonic will still have to reach the final in either Shangai or Bercy, which is very hard. I would be very surprised if he could even get past Tsonga if he beats Baghdatis.
Participation on WTF in London would be a great experience for Raonic and would help him for next season.......
Based on the race now assuming the worst say Nadal, Ferrer and Delpo all do not play due to health issues. That makes the 8 right now
Fed
Novak
Murray
Berdy
Tsonga
Tipsy
Almagro
Gasquet
Raonic is only a handful of points behind Gasquet but that list is taking 3 people also ahead of him out of the picture. If Ferrer and Delpo both play than that makes Tipsy the one to beat and he is 405 points behind him....that is a tall order to make up and I am not sure he can do it.
Its not impossible but he needs to hope Nadal isn't the only no show.
I say this again, Monaco and Almagro are out of Shanghai! And Tipsy has to deal with Djokovic in QF!
So what?Is the YEC next week? No.
There are still several tournaments remaining in the season amd he is currently 13th in the race. He could get blasted out of Shanghai his next match and Monaco could win another 250. He is no where near a lock..especially if both Ferrer and Delpo play.
Raonic may not even get to the QF...and if Tipsy does and he doesn't the gap gets bigger. Gasquet is still in Shanghai and is currently ahead of Raonic in the race as well so he needs him to lose also. The odds are long and its a 4 way race for 2 spots if the 3 people I listed pull out. If they don't Raonics goose is almost cooked.
Thread tittle is "Can Raonic qualifies on WTF?" not "Raonic will qualifies on WTF!"
I know what the thread title is, I gave my opinion in both of the posts I made in this thread. The odds are very difficult for him to make it. Even if 3 people pull out he still has to hope a few things go his way. Stop shouting at me with exclamation points and doing the message board equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears going I can't hear you...I am done with this thread its obvious you don't want to hear anything but yes.

Yeah but he who did he beat to win that title
If Monaco makes the WTF he is going to go 0-3 easily.
