Delpotro(left wrist) and Ferrer(virus) may not be able to make it either.

Yes i make this thread based on that. If hi wins against Nishikori he would be in much better position. In Shanghai Raonic have a very tough draw.....

Baggy will be tough: 50/50, Tsonga he is not going to win against and Kei has his number. He is not picking up many points in shanghai.

Raonic isn't mentally sound, so despite being in his BEST form he lost soundly to a non-top10 player the other day.

I think Raonic will start to burn out soon - can't see him getting in unless Nadal, Ferrer & dPots all drop out. Even then, unlikely.

Almagro and Monaco lost in Shanghai! Raonic chances increases....IMO it's better to see Raonic in WTF than CC Almagro or Monaco...
The test will come when he plays Bagdahtis next, 3 am EST...
He is playing doubles as well.

Monaco just won a title on indoors HC a few weeks ago, and made Valencia HC final last year. Not much but that's still more than Almagro who really is a true clay specialist. TBH neither one is truly what you'd think of when you think top 10 players.
Doubles doesn't take long anyway so it's OK IMO.
He really missed the direct route to Barclay by not winning Tokyo which would have put him in 10th place right now. However he encountered an in form Nishikori and Raonic spent all he had in the Murray match.

Thing is, should Nadal withdraw (which seems very likely), Raonic could perhaps get to the WTF with some good showings at Valencia and Bercy. Surprised he's not going to Stockholm though since every little counts at this stage. Doesn't look likely, but there's always an outside chance.

Oh shoot, I forgot that for a moment. Well, it's still very difficult since Tipsarevic doesn't seem like the guy to go out early. Think that Raonic will still have to reach the final in either Shangai or Bercy, which is very hard. I would be very surprised if he could even get past Tsonga if he beats Baghdatis.

Based on the race now assuming the worst say Nadal, Ferrer and Delpo all do not play due to health issues. That makes the 8 right now

Raonic is only a handful of points behind Gasquet but that list is taking 3 people also ahead of him out of the picture. If Ferrer and Delpo both play than that makes Tipsy the one to beat and he is 405 points behind him....that is a tall order to make up and I am not sure he can do it.
Its not impossible but he needs to hope Nadal isn't the only no show.

So what?Is the YEC next week? No.
There are still several tournaments remaining in the season amd he is currently 13th in the race. He could get blasted out of Shanghai his next match and Monaco could win another 250. He is no where near a lock..especially if both Ferrer and Delpo play.
Raonic may not even get to the QF...and if Tipsy does and he doesn't the gap gets bigger. Gasquet is still in Shanghai and is currently ahead of Raonic in the race as well so he needs him to lose also. The odds are long and its a 4 way race for 2 spots if the 3 people I listed pull out. If they don't Raonics goose is almost cooked.

I know what the thread title is, I gave my opinion in both of the posts I made in this thread. The odds are very difficult for him to make it. Even if 3 people pull out he still has to hope a few things go his way. Stop shouting at me with exclamation points and doing the message board equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears going I can't hear you...I am done with this thread its obvious you don't want to hear anything but yes.

Ok, but than again, i think that Raonic is going to do better than Almagro and Monaco, so it will be a battle between Raonic, Tipsy and Gasquet! Tipsy is in the best position but we'll see.......
