Cutting out the strings during winter?

Do you guys cut your strings during the winter when your not using them? They took down all the tennis courts almost everywhere i went to because it is really cold here in canada.

Do you think its best if i cut my strings during the winter and get it restrung till spring?

LOL That's too funny.

Hard winters are an ideal time to learn to play squash at a high level -- you'll be in tremendous tennis shape come spring and will enjoy running your friends off the court.

So true, it doesn't look like a lot of work, but it is insane.

no..... leaving the strings in doesn't hurt your frame.... cutting them out doesn't help....

It doesn't matter if you take them out or not. Just have it strung before your start playing next year.

I hate to even bring it up because of collective ignorance, but high level badminton is equally, if not more, crazy. Shuttlecock flies 200mph at pro level(record is more than 200mph). I play with mid-level pros in the Philippines and Thailand -- brutal workout. I prefer squash as an alternative because it better translates to tennis. Truth is, bad-ass badminton is a more challenging game and work out. Contrary to what Conners said, tennis is easy.

Wait they actually took down your tennis courts? Like the net or did they literally destroy the entire court?

Nearly all our nets were removed before November 1st. And it is only in the 20s, go figure. Below zero in Canada now.

I'd cut them out. You're not likely to use the strings anyway when spring comes, as the strings will be dead.
