Sorry if you've already answered this, but why on earth did they change the logo? It was so iconic and easily identified but now it looks bland and somewhat generic.

Sorry but I have to disagree there. Put me down as one who definitely prefers the new logo. Even though I haven't owned a Babolat since the Pure Control Team back when I was 14/15.

Loving the new logo.

I know you can't answer but am keenly awaiting news on what it was that Tsknga was playing with that had the new Bab logo but was all blacked out. Didn't look like any of the current frames to me.

Call me old fashion but i dont like the new logo, i liked the original double line the most, in some rackets it looked very classy and cool (like Boris or Pete's racket)

To each their own. I've come around on it. And it makes marketing/branding much easier for us long term.

I dont like it either. Seeing the new logo stenciled on racquets on tv from a Australia it looks like someone was in a rush and did not finish the stencil. Also seeing the new logo graphic in print ads or on the racquet it looks like to me a tail logo of a air line.

British Airways is what comes to mind.

No Air France:)
Tail Logo is a good analogy, but I see this as a Plus. makes it look sharper, edgier. I wasn't sure about it myself picking up & selling through new frames.

But seriously I have been using Babolat strings for over 25years.
loved the development of the brand, the new logo does grow on you.
As Daniel said, too each their own.
I understand why they went for the logo change.
Haven't set my old rackets up yet with new stencil but looking forward to testing all the new aeros next week.
Will then decide whether or not to change frames in 2013.

Same here, hate it, though I don't use a stencil anyhow. This would be like Wilson changing their W logo.

Pure Control

"I loved one of your Pure Control models about 10 years ago (the one weighing around 11.5 oz), but all of your Pure Storms (its replacement?) just don't feel the same. Guess there's no chance of bringing the Control back, eh?"
Hi, I am still using the Pure Control but have to (finally) step up and buy some new racquets. I couldn't find an answer to this question though. Is the Pure Storm the one that you would recommend to replace the Pure Control? It looks to me like the specs are very similar and the reviews would make me think so. Is the latest Pure Storm different from the previous Pure Storm? Big diff in prices!
Thanks for any help. Appreciate your being here!

The Pure Storm would be the closest in terms of specs and being our "classic" feeling racquet line. However, I've read on the boards that some players don't get the same feel from the Pure Storm as they did with the Pure Control. Best to try it out before purchasing.

Thanks for using our product.

Thanks for telling him about that.

Through the facebook contest discussed earlier, we have selected the first 5 consumers in the world to test the product. We'll have more information (release date, price, etc) as we approach the 2nd half of 2013.

The new logo is better than the old logo, but the old logo incorporated a double line but was not identical with it.

Now they've gone with a simpler logo, which however changes colour, and even though it incorporates a double line (albeit blunted and asymmetrical) they've unfortunately felt the necessity of making the stencil logo exactly the same.

I'm sure this was done in the interests of marketing coherence, but its also ruined the considerable history of the marque.

I've got no idea how early this branding is but it shows that the previous logo developed out of the O (in ball-like flight) in Babolat:

I think this new logo is shockingly poor to be honest!

Not that I liked the last logo, and I'm all for changing the logo every few years, but this logo could have been so much better surely.

The worst thing I think is that there is a very small gap between what's left of the "double line"s. The "double line" had become an iconic logo in quite a short period of time for Babolat on their rackets, and now it is difficult to see at all in the new logo. It basically just doesn't look very good!

lethal weapon, great,,,,,,,,,
follow this thread http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=450003

Give me a break. The only thing to follow there is you being overly politically-correct. It is ridiculous to mention this in connection with the Sandy Hook killings. First of all, this ad was released well before that. The ad also doesn't have guns, but a silly cartoon version of other weapons.

The ad is as dangerous to kids as Wile E. Coyote having a piano dropped on him (which probably bothers you as well).

Are we going to see some of the wider open string patterns filter into the Pure Drive or APD lines from Babolat like the new Wilson Steam-S?

So your political views are incorrect?

Just a question, why are they still advertising Andy?

Andy has been one of our most influential players. For us, it's not just about being on tour, but about your contribution to the game and to the development of our products. Andy continues to be an integral player for our brand.

And he is really fun to work with.

We continue to innovate and develop products that reflect advances in the modern game. We've always offered open string patterns for more spin, while still maintaining a good amount of control. We have already released our new products for 2013 (except Babolat Play&Connect).

I will say that he is a really funny guy. What kind of technological testing devices do you guys have?

Feel free to email me if you don't want to leak the secrets on here...

I understand that Play&Connect is a new racquet you will be releasing slowly to some of your partners. I've heard rumors of having a device of this sort that you could put in the handle of the PD2012 and APD2013. My guess is it could give you data on many points like a P&C lite :).

Do you plan on doing this? I would love to see stats and compare to others but not have to change frames from my APD2013... Absolutely love the APD2013 btw so great work there!

Yes, but are you going to have a racket that can rival the spin of the wilson 99s? I for one, have spent years working on my spin technique. The fear is that everyone will now be able to match what I have done, by simply buying
this 99s. I want to stick with Babolat, as i believe your frame design is superior.

But are we now reaching a point as in golf, where the infusion of the oversized driver leveled the playing field for almost anyone? It used to be that you needed a solid technique to get an outstanding drive. Now all you need is to swing fast and hard.

I think Babolat needs to get on this quickly, and not wait another year or months. Even I am tempted to buy the 99s soon.

what i believe you should do, is offer the current APD with the
smae string pattern as the 99s. The APD frame is so far advanced, it would be an immensly better racket than the 99s, which seems to be struggling with balance and handling.

I don't know the specific names/models of the machines but we test flexibility, frame strength, spin, power, durability, swing weight, balance, etc. All the racquet companies do this to varying degrees with various machines.

With every advantage (more power, more spin, more control), there is a drawback. We've been a leader in open string pattern racquets that generate spin and will continue to work with pros, coaches, and rec players of all levels to create products that help players maximize there game.

Didn't someone used to make a 14X18 players frame?
