... it appears that i spoke too soon, but Android will accept flash plugins right?

Actually, I'd quite like to get you started on NFC if you have a moment. It can be unrelated to the iPhone
I'm in the UK, and NFC is far from adopted over here. We're talking miles off. A lot of the scepticism focuses around the fact that the back end is expensive for the retailer to install. I've read a number of articles speculating that bluetooth may be a more likely option, should the consumer decide NFC is required (there are plenty of arguments that it really isn't that much quicker than chip-and-pin).
Assuming you live elsewhere, has it actually become commonplace? And if so, what percentage of shops have the technology in place? (just a rough estimate based on your own experience will do me)

I was an epic poster on Crackberry for many years. In early 2010 well before RIM was having issues and I still hated the iPhone I predicted RIM would be the next Palm by Q4 2013. People lambasted me and I even got myself banned for epic trollery accusations.
I'm never wrong. RIM is finished. BB10 will sell ok initially but they're done.
Quote this poast one year from today.
The funny thing is, is anyone can destroy apple and Samsung with a better product.
Imagine if this new BB London had full blown photoshop.
Imagine if it had a music player that wasn't a complete POS.
Imagine if it had a multi LED thin panel notification bar at the top that you could customize with colors and patterns for different communication events.
Imagjne if it had a keyboard that actually worked without errors. Every time.
Imagine if it had all my finance apps.
Imagine if it had a seamless backup solution that was reliable and more portable.
Imagine if it had a robust VPN platform for corporate computing.
Imagine if it could massage your lower back or stomach and tell you everyday that you are the GOAT and people LOVE you.
I would buy it in a second.
The iPhone keyboard is horrible.
I concede.
blackberry, proper keyboard, so good. as they say:
i just can't quit you.
I loved my humble Blackberry Curve. It's app range sucked, it had a stupidly small screen and it was just a 2G phone with a physical keyboard, but typing anything on it was just so much clickety-clickety fun. I had it unlocked and used it on a recent trip from several Asian countries. Texting is big in India, and I got a lot of organizational stuff done just on the phone, just by texting the people involved and rarely even speaking with them. Still so much fun, and usable where my then-CDMA-only Verizon smartphone was as good as a brick.
Also, as far as call quality goes, that was the best phone I've ever used. Somewhere along the way, the smartphone manufacturers forgot that these were "phones". I really hope that RIM comes up with something good. It is an uphill battle and very difficult to compete with Apple and Android, but stranger things have happened.
Lots of people are unhappy with the Lumia 920 according to WP8 boards I monitor. If it had better reviews I would have bought one by now. So far I am unconvinced of its GPOATness.

Data requirements vary widely.
I use about 300 MB/month. I have WiFi in the places where I spend most of my time. The 300 MB that I use is for email, hotspot for my laptop, looking at traffic reports and checking stocks on the road.
What case do y'all recommend for the iphone 5? As in max. protection with min. bulk? I know, it sounds impossible, but what case offers the best compromise or best of both worlds if possible?
Great new commercial for the Iphone 5 featuring Venus and Serena!!!

That is nice, but it not safe enough for me. I prefer this one.
Android's had that feature for how long now?
Or just turn the **** off. Or, if you're an innovator like me, I'd make use of the decade-old feature that's been around cell phones since the beginning. It's call "silent" mode.

T-Mobile, data is FREE.

Slight difference though. Family/friends you need to get a hold of you can call twice and it will ring. So there are filters built in. You can silence the iphone with the flick of a switch on the side, so this does a little more.
Alright... so then again, Android's had that feature for how long now?

lifeproof
best of the best
Life proof has tons of issues.
I have no idea, I never saw that exact feature in the OS. I don't miss android one bit. Enjoy it. Personally, I made a 3 year run with them and I am done. Not worth arguing about, I was just bringing up what the feature actually does.
I thought the same at first, but it is a lot faster to select DND and not have to volume down, vibrate off and then check your phone for an important call. It's just an easy feature to use that I like. It is not a game changer, but the phone is just so fast and responsive and great on my battery that I have no complaints or desires to jailbreak/root.
I have a Lifeproof for my 4S, and it's been great. However, as JoelDali says, when they bring out a new product they seem to suffer a whole host of issues. 'Teething problems' barely scratches the surface. They do have a good warranty service (mine was replaced twice), which is just as well. If you're patient enough, it can be worth it if you get a good one.
One case I'm intrigued by is the Zagg InvisibleShield. Anyone tried that?
You should try the Snap Dragon quad core processors. That's speed right there.
I hated the iOS. I hated how I had to go through menus and sub-menus just to turn on/off my wifi and bluetooth.
Is that just the front screen protector or an actual case? I tried the screen protector and could not get it on. Got all crumpled up on me so I took it back to the store and got my $30 back.
I have T-Mobile. I'm saving $20/ month with their unlimited data vs what I was paying for 3 GB of data with AT&T. They say their "4G" data is unlimited but it's not, they lie. They cap your data at 99,999GB/ month.
Thats pretty awesome, dude. T mobile 4G speeds are pretty impressive. My friend gets 8 Mbps-12 Mbps download speeds all the time.
I'm on T mobile as well, but I have an unlocked Iphone 4s so absolutely no data for me currently. They are reframing their 3G/4G network to 1700 Mhz to accommodate iphone users. It has not been done in my area so I get no data except Edge, which is horrible. Hopefully they set it up quickly.
