Problems with Air Max Breathe

Just a disclaimer -- a review of any shoe is in the eye of the beholder, but this is truly the worst shoe I have ever put on my foot.

The sideways stability is downright awful. I have had no isseus with the vapor 9, cb 4.3 or any older nike models, but these shoes have the support of a wet paper bag.

I have also worn a hole in the toe after about 10 sets, which I have never done to any shoe before.

Not only that its not even that light to make up for all the downsides. I can provide pictures of the hole if anyone cares. Unfortunately I get no voucher because I used them to get the shoes in the first place.

Very dissapointing

I'm just curious, is the upper material basically a stiffed up version of the star cages they used on the Free Run 3s?

That's interesting. Can you post a picture... it seems kind of odd to put a hole in a shoe after only 10 sets. That's good they come with a 6 month guarantee except in your case unfortunately.

Yes, thanks.

Wow, I always put a hole in the toe even with 3.3s and B7s so there's no way I'll consider something as light duty as these new breathe's.

I might give the lotto raptors a try. Very disappointed with Nike in this case, I hope they will replace them with a pair of 4.3 because I think this is unacceptable.

I used to do that to the side of the B6s in two matches, that adituff on the inside of the shoe wore through too quickly, and on top of that it hung out over the court and was not protected like the b7s and 3.3s. Frustrating isnt it?

"Doc, it hurts when I do THIS!" Doctor: "Don't do that."
Drag toe, get hole. Don't drag toe.

To put it another way, I've played a lot of tennis in my life and have played for a long time, and I've never wore a hole in a toe of a shoe. I've had a pair of Prince shoes that I've worn for probably around 400-500 hours of tennis without any signs of a hole near the toe.

how do you wear a shoe 4-500 hours?

For what it's worth - stability is also in the eye of the beholder. In my view the Cages have fantastic lateral stability, and the Vapors were useless, and made my ankles hurt. Everyone's foot is different.

I didn't say they are pristine they are beat up, just saying I don't drag toe.

It's not just toe dragging that causes the soles to get sanded down, any sudden stop or change in direction would damage your soles. I think he was just pointing out that you might be running rather than shuffling to the ball, which might be the reason why your shoes lasted 500 hours.

I bought this at a half size lower then what I usually wear and it just felt a little too tight for me. I wear a very thick sock, a level 3 thorlo sock and I think that had something to do with it. I ended up returning them. The aesthetics were nice and they offered quite a bit of padding but the size was just a little too small for me.

Then, the next half size larger would most likely fit perfectly.
