I still can't get over the idea of a multi angled racquet head......

Anyways nice acquire, how much did they cost?

Around the 355grm mark. I don't have all the specs with me at the moment. They feel really nice and I strongly recommend using bosworth to anyone that wants something special. Never have I had a racquet feel so stable and I have had my racquets customised up to 364grn before and they still were not as stable as these.
Apparently the graphite they use is second to none.

Does Bosworth make additional grommet sets available to you? Also, what base grip do you use?

I only got the. Today so unsure about grommet availability. I'd say grip shape is yonex... Very small buttcap.

I mean what actual grip is underneath those Wilson perforated overgrips? I didn't know if you use synthetic or leather.

Try calling them again now, they appear to have those issues under control at the moment. I had the same issues too originally.

Hats off to you.

It takes a set of giant Brass ones to hold your head up high and walk onto the court holding one of these.

Maybe that's why Stepanek resorted to wearing the UGLIEST shirts, so that people wouldn't notice the sticks.

Joking aside, interested to hear how they play!

OUCH!

BTW, the new Angell paint looks great. The Bastcore paint looked like it was designed by a colorblind monkey with a vendetta against graphic design.

Lol. Thanks. You should have seen the first version! Pleased you like the angell grey

That's a lot of money for rackets designed with a ruler!

Hope the investment pays off you

Didn't get that. Are you saying they don't use CAD software? If they make only a few models and all are decagonal in shape, why would they use any software if they got it working at one time with manual methods?

My understanding was that the frame shape came from trying to get a specific string pattern. Not a racquet designer but the end goal makes sense to me. I tried twice to purchase frames from them but, at the time, their focus was on other customers.

It is an attempt to make the lengths of the mains and crosses more uniform
This was how the design was marketed when it first appeared, back in the 1980's with the Fox Bosworth frames. Good guess!

I think Racketdesign was just taking a lighthearted jab at the angled (vs curved) head shape of the competition rather than suggesting they literally used a ruler to design it. (He is the founder of Angell, who also provide very nice custom frames.)

Beautiful frames, OP. I hope you enjoy them!

Well this is not quite correct. Angell produce nice frames from what I've heard, but calling them "custom" is ridiculous. They offer a series of weights and balances. If you look at the lineup of Wilson or Head, you can find a similar breadth of choices.

A custom frame would be if I could call and say I wanted a Red and Purple frame w/ a 93 Sq" 11.9oz 6pts HL w/ SW of 335.

As far as I know real custom frames are not readily available to rec players...

I know he is Paul and I had purchased couple of frames from him several years ago before the whole issue with the company name, etc. But I was curious about what he meant, because he is in the same industry.

Bold it's not it is custom because you aren't just buying it ready made, so it's custom, to you.I'm sure if you wanted to pay for it Paul or Bosworth could make you a red and purple one but the pros don't even get that.
To the underlined bit, Once you were probably correct, but it is not easy to find a (for example) players spec racquet with an o/s frame, a true 95 that you can spec a string pattern and balance isn't common anymore. If you want a 100" frame you'll find it somewhere but will it feel like a hollow piece of rubbish? Mostly the answer is yes,so you could find the racquet you like but what if you don't like it's grip shape? I never got on with the babolat shape really, always prefered wilson or dunlop but with Paul and Angell i can spec out a 95" frame with an open pattern balanced for me and be able to get another to match not wonder what sort of day the QC person was having at the factory!

To the OP, they look lovely, let us know how you get on with them, did you just buy them or do their on court trials to come up with the spec for them?
I've always wondered if the string /head shape idea worked and if so, why hasn't anone else done it in all they years they've been about.

Patents?

For example, the Yonex isometric shape is patented and so is the Wilson PWS.

Are they not in the same industry?

that's not the point. the point is you apparently didn't get/didn't want to get the initial joke.

doesn't matter. nothing lamer than having to explain a mediocre joke.

on to the playtest / review we are awaiting with bated breath!

Ok so I have has a good go with my new Bosworth racquets now.
Here are my thoughts:
So solid makes all other racquets that I have used seem really hollow in comparison. Weight comes in at 355g but does not feel heavy in the slightest. Often with a heavy racquet they say you have to get that mass working for you to getany rewards for it but this seems to hold its position even if u haven't got to swing through it yet. Volleys are fantastic even with poly (tour bite) I am coming from a small head (PAC 90) and the only negative I have noticed isi haven't quite dialled in my serve, not sure if its a slightly different fleet ion angle or just haven't dialled in the extra power on this feature. One other small annoyance is the small size of the butt cap, however this was my own fault as I requested a small one... Just never realised how small it would actually be. On the swing weight question I'm sorry I don't know the swing weight, reason being I don't want to have any per conceived ideas of the specs thati thought I have preferred over the years. I wanted Bosworth to come up with the specs based on what we discussed about my wants and needs with my game and in the end I think they have got it right.

have you made any adjustments since the original spec? if so, was it on your own or under their guidance?
