RHs
An all too rare and typically frustrating outing earlier (UK weather has been in heavy winter mode seems like forever now... any visitors to these shores be warned:wink
. Anyhow, had a few hours checking out the dark destroyer 16x19 (Tb/Ion Hexa), and the gold/black Blade (VS/Co-focus). Plus a brief bit of steaming (w/TB) to end the morning.
The tinkering with grips, mods, etc seems to be paying off as I found the 16x19 swinging more effortlessly, groundstrokes very nice in the feel dept and booming but with some nice control. Still need to get back that exquisite bh of a few backs ago, and serve-wise, a little underwhelming, however the headwind I was playing in kind of explains those two points.
The gold/black continues to surprise me. Definitely noticed some nice touch and feel going on (gut/poly here is wonderful.) Seems even a notch up in accuracy over it's black pj brother. Again, this one swings lovely, I like that kind of lagging sensation before accelerating into the ball. Interesting re slightly lower trajectory (of course I am coming to this as an avowed APD wielding topspinner type.) TBH I already feel this is one of my fav closed pattern frames along with the N95, PT630. The Q I can't quite A yet is is this just a tad too demanding for me?
With the 99s, only wound down and hit with it for 15 mins. Only real impressions made were I was ripping some tasty topspin (as you'd expect), and this frame doesn't compare so terribly at all to the Blade(s) re solidness.
So, slow progress for this here 'holic. But despite the tedious weather, it's nice to just be playing again.
Bring on the summer!
