I don't really count IW or Miami because Cvac wasn't his usual self. He is back to playing pretty well as his 2 DC matches prove.

DC against Isner and Querry means jack s**t. Funny how you never count it when he plays bad, but if he continues to play bad he will lose, whatever the reason. Just like last year.He had 3 shots vs Nadal on clay last year and lost every one.

Nadal lost to Zeballos. On clay. No more needs to be said.

No, quite a bit more needs to be said. Such as - Nadal wasn't "his usual self" so I don't count that. He hadn't played for 7 months. After that though he destroyed Ferrer and beat Delpo on HC who had just beaten Murray and Djokovic. That more than makes up for losing to Zeballos when you are rusty as hell.

And I still think he is unbeatable in best of 5. Nobody is going to beat him again for a long while.

But it's a FACT he isn't. Otherwise he'd be defending champ at all 4 slams. The ultimate proof that you deny reality and talk a load of rubbish.

Why can't he? Nadal barely scraped past him in their last match, and Nadal also barely scraped past him in Rome 2010. And that was when Nadal was a much better player than he is today. Gulbis can beat him without question. I think you underestimate him, Delpo, Murray, Stan, etc... All of those guys are more than capable of beating Nadal. You, as always, underestimate these guys and give them no credit. If they bring it, Nadal is toast.

Well then if he nearly beat Nadal on clay when Nadal was a much better played, Nadal beating him now obviously proves how well Nadal is playing. Also you don't get that some players get close 100 times but never actually win. Sure Gulbis can beat him, but he won't. He couldn't beat Nadal on HC and Nadal is a HC mug, remember? Wtf? Stan?! haha warwinka came close to beatig Djokovic, you've got your players mixed up. If these guys bring it? Nadal IS bringing it and if he continues to, everyone else can only hope for a runners up plate.

And no, 2011 was not a one off. You will see come clay season when Cvac wins everything and Nadal wins nothing.

But until that happens, it WAS a one off. Djokovic had 3 chances last season and failed and as usual Nadal won again. The only thing that can stop him form MC is the law of averages, not Djokovic or anyone else.

I didn't call it a hoax. Please at least lecture the right poster next time.

And I do not believe he is injured. He may have tweaked his ankle a bit but nothing more. He will be in MC and will win it.

No, you said he was faking. Pretty much the same thing. I think you need to watch or re-watch the ankle roll, if you think he just tweaked it.

Why not? I think it shows that he is still in decent form by winning two, 5 set matches within the last few days. He is still playing better than everyone else it, including Nadal.

So what? You say that like he will never have another chance to beat Nadal again on clay, when that is just totally false. You'll see when MC starts. That's if Nadal even gets to him.

He still lost to a mug on his best surface. If he's so unbeatable on clay, he should have won that match right?

I don't think it's rubbish. He is still practically unbeatable in best of 5 matches. Just who do you think is going to beat him? And do not say Tsonga or Seppi. Those matches were flukes and won't be repeated. Cvac just had a few off days and those guys still couldn't beat him.

No I don't. I think he's got a shot based on his recent form. That's why I brought him up.

Nadal is bringing it? Yeah maybe he will be bringing his team some hors d'oeuvres on all the runner up plates he will be collecting come clay season. That is if he can even make it to the final to lose to Cvac.

Well, I hope you're right because I don't want to see him side-lined with an injury, but I saw him limping when the match was over.

Funny how every player under the sun is an easy draw for Djokovic, but now all of a sudden Isner and Querry are some some sort of quality opponents  Djokovic should be able to beat them even playing bad, this is no indicator of playing well.

He still lost to a mug on his best surface. If he's so unbeatable on clay, he should have won that match right?

Like if Djokovic is so unbeatable over 5 sets he should have been able to win more than one slam last year right?Should be able to beat mug Nadal, and choker Murray at the very least? And Nadal was out for 7 months, it's ridiculous to expect him to be back to being unbeatable straight away. After that however he won 3 events in a row.

I didn't say that. I meant that he just won 2, 5 set matches back to back. One of them he won while supposedly on his death bed if you listen to some of his fans. Lol. If he were in such poor form I think he would have struggled to do that don't you think? I mean, you(and others here who know who they are)thought Nadal was playing peak tennis in 2011 when he was struggling against 135th ranked, 30 year old Paulo Lorenzi on clay, losing to mugs like Dodig, being taken to 5 sets by Isner at RG, struggling against Ljubicic, struggling against Verdasco, struggling against Devarrman, etc..

He has beaten them. He has mowed through the field for more than 2 years now. He's practically unbeatable in best of 5 matches no matter how many you times you deny that he isn't.

Do you think he played well in any of those matches? If he had he would have won them.

So? Had Delpo not done his dirty work for him, Cvac would have won that final in straights. That win wasn't that impressive.

He won TWO best of 5 matches in a row?! He has made the semis of the last however many slams, winning 2 matches vs Isner and Querry should be pretty easy even on his C game. He lost a set to querry- that's bad enough.

And Nadal didn't play great on clay but he was playing well on HC. Remember nadalhas ALWAYS been a clay mug and lost toworse people than Dogig every single year of his career. Besides if you want to pick out some matches he struggled in then I pick out Djokovic vs Haas. DC isn't a full tournament so it's not comparable toa tournament when you have more chance of having a bad match.

He has beaten them. He has mowed through the field for more than 2 years now. He's practically unbeatable in best of 5 matches no matter how many you times you deny that he isn't.

No, but he lost to them in slams. losing in 3 out of 4 slams is not practically unbeatable, it's pretty beatable. Clue - Nadal won as many slams as Djokovic last year and he only played 3.

Do you think he played well in any of those matches? If he had he would have won them.

But he didn't and it will happen again.

So? Had Delpo not done his dirty work for him, Cvac would have won that final in straights. That win wasn't that impressive.

The fact is Djokovic wasn't playing well enough to make the final in either IW or Miami and is heading for an arse kicking in clay season. Just enjoy it.

I disagree. Losing to Fish and Dodig were bad losses. And struggling with Hot Sauce was awful too. And how on earth could we forget that awful match against Golubev at the USO in 2011. What a piece of garbage that match was, and if Golubev had held his nerve, Nadal would have lost in the first round there.

He has been for the past few years now, but not always.

One match is all you can come up with? Lol. Nadal mugs it up on a regular basis, and against worse players than Haas.

I still disagree with you. He is the hardest player to beat in best of 5 matches bar none. No one is more difficult to take out than Cvac.

No way. He is going to sweep the clay season, beating Nadal in the process. Just enjoy it.

Nadal played like crap against Gulbis. If he had played that way against Federer, Berdych, or Del Potro at Indian Wells he would have been out in straight sets, but he was playing head-case Gulbis who can't string two good points together. The possibility of Gulbis beating Nadal on clay is so close to zero it's not even worth discussing.

So Djokovic is impossible to beat, but when he loses it doesn't count. When Nadal loses it will forever count against him, regardless of circumstances.

As for everything else, the usual doom and gloom, I wouldn't expect anything less. :)

From now on, this will be my broken record response to all of Clarky's broken record anti-jinx posts :

Djoker can't even win against 35 year old dinosaurs from the weak era. (UPDATE: He has now broken his ankle, so he is as good as a non-factor for the clay season.) Fed is a dinosaur himself and hasn't won a single title in the last 8 months. He is drawing up retirement plans as we speak.

Nadzilla on the other hand comes back stronger, faster and fitter from a 8 month hiatus and decimates the field winning 3 titles including a HC masters, sooner than you can type one of your anti-jinx poasts.

Djokovic broken ankle? More like a twisted ankle which resulted in him breadsticking and bagelling his opponent , the fool probably played it up so he could later use it as an excuse for Nadal winning 4 (and eventually 5, 6 ...) matches in a row over him.

Well, Cvac comes to mind. Delpo and Murray too. Maybe even Gulbis. There are several guys who can trouble or even beat Nadal on clay.

We will see, but I know that Nadal will not be sweeping the clay season; Cvac will.

Why would he have to pull out of MC? There is nothing wrong with him. I'm sure he will be there and will also win the title.

He didn't look injured to me. It's also funny how when he started winning he stopped the faking. He's fine. He will be in MC and will win it.

No one does really trouble Cvac. He's impossible to beat, especially in best of 5.

And Gulbis has really pushed Nadal hard on clay before in Rome 2010. And that was when Nadal was a much better player than he is now. He has the goods to beat him without a doubt.

2011 was not a one off. Cvac is better than Nadal these days and if he actually shows up he can beat him easily. Delpo can also beat him as well, and has also pushed Nadal hard on clay before. Murray can do some damage too as he has pushed Nadal to 3 sets in MC before.

You people thinking Nadal is just going to mop up the clay season are really getting ahead of yourselves. It's simply not going to happen.

In 2010 he lost to old man Ljubicic, old man Davydenko, Roddick, Lopez, Baghdatis, Garcia Lopez, Meltzer and Monfils. In 2008 he won 1 game vs Youzhny, lost to rookie Tsonga, Seppi, Roddick, simon... he'salways had bad losses outside of clay even in his best years. Losing at Madrid didn't count cos it was not clay, remember? ;)

The only way he'll sweep it is with a broom. He couldn't even do it in 2011 and he;s playing worse now, nadal is playing better and Djokovic is injured. Just watch, you'll bring up the injury when Nadal wins.

I did see, and yes, it was close. But Gulbis lost. No way is he beating Nadal on clay. He can make it as close as he likes - when push comes to shove, he's not getting over the hump.

I don't understand how Clarky can be so pessimistic all the time. Nadal destroyed Djokovic (and the entire field) last clay season. He's 17-1 this year with three titles, including a hard court Masters - his first since 2009. I can just imagine Nadal back at number one, winning two, three slams in a row, and she'll still be there, "Nadal doesn't have a chance. First round defeat for sure."

Because he's a troll with multiple accounts (I think they call him the 'multiple account king' on Talk Tennis). He gets off on the fact that Talk Tennis posters genuinely believe he is a jinxing Nadal fan, when the reality is that he's just a federer/Djokovic fan trying to stir up trouble. Just plop him on your ignore list. :p

I wonder how Clarky would react if Nadal won the 7 slams in a row and broke Federer's Open Era slam record by the end of 2014. I guess then Nadal would still be washed up and finished, while Djokovic would win the next 16 slams in a row to obliterate that mark, even had he broken both legs and an arm, temporarily needed a cane to walk, and was retired from tennis.

You're trying to say that clarky is you? Not buying that

I said virtually the same thing the other day

Monte Carlo 2013 would be EXTREMELY historic if Djokovic played Nadal in the final. Not only because Nadal is attempting to win his ninth consecutive title here since 2005 (a ninth consecutive Masters 1000 title, also a record), but because a Djokovic loss would mean Nadal would lead the Nadal-Djokovic h2h 20-14, matching the Sampras-Agassi h2h. Monte Carlo 2013 will be like a mini Roland Garros 2012, if Djokovic plays. :p

This coming from a troll like you, who has had dozens of different accounts on here, is absolutely  worthy.

None of this will ever happen so who cares?

I think Djokovic looked good in his two Davis Cup matches. And to be honest, hes looked more and more like a clay courter the past year, much more defensive.
I'm gonna say Djokovic RUP's at MC, wins Madrid and Rome, and perhaps RG.

Finally someone else who sees what I see. Cvac is going to mop up the clay season. No one is going to beat him.

Haha... Take it easy a little. :)

But Djokovic will always have his chances everywhere. Just hope the ankle will be fine and stay that way.

It's funny how you post the same types of things all the time, but depending on what's going on in tennis you either sound batsh!t crazy or completely sane. This one sounds very realistic.

You think that sounds realistic? Sounds like typical Bullzilla bs to me. Especially the mini RG stuff.

Makes a ton of sense to me because what he's saying is real and plausible. It might not be a "mini RG" but it is very important to dictate who means business in the clay season.

I'm not sure how much Monte Carlo tells about the clay court season as a whole We know Rafa plays wells on the dirt and those are the slowest conditions on earth. It's pretty cold and breezy that time of year which equals exceedingly slow conditions. Given the court speed it's no coincidence that Rafa has won that tournament since he left diapers. it's also why Roger probably doesn't like playing there.

So, apparently, it's not a torn ligament nor a fracture. That's good news because those would have been the 2 worst case scenarios.

depends how monfils plays. if he plays good then he will win it, if he dosent then some players might do better than they are suppose to

I wouldn't be surprised if he skipped it. Maybe he's picking a more dramatic spot to make the Nadal-Djokovic h2h 20-14 in favour of Nadal :D. In 2012, Djokovic won only 4 games (including a 6-1 set) against Nadal :D in the Monte Carlo final. Who knows how an "injured" Djokovic would fare? (Probably the same result, especially since Djokovic's injury was massively exaggerated with the federer Australian Open 2009-like crying.) :p
