In all seriousness, their rivalry is getting really interesting no matter what happens tomorrow. I want to see if Djokovic passes Nadal's total weeks at number 1 before he gives it up

Why are people saying that Nadal almost had an epic meltdown?

He didn't even LOSE THE SET nor was he in any position close to defeat throughout the match.

He just got the breaker and dispatched Tsonga.

True. And I thought Tsonga played great and took control of the points with all-court tennis (a bit like when he beat Federer at Wimbledon). Nadal didn't play poorly at any stage.

If Djokovic loses the number one ranking it will be to Murray or Nadal. If its to Nadal it won't really matter if Djok has passed 102 weeks or not, cos Nadal will add to the 102 weeks (and the gold mine for Nadal is this year's Wimbledon, USO and next year's AO). Huge gains are ahead. And Djokovic will lose a lot of points if he has to play Nadal in the QF of Roland Garros.

Because he blew a 5-1 lead and 5 match points before he got to that tiebreak. He never should have been in a tiebreak with a lead like that.

Why would the rain be bad for Hafa?

Doesn't he thrive in the slow and damp conditions?

It has to be Slow and SUPER HIGH BOUCING...Rain just makes it slower but the ball soak so much they don't bounce as well.

Nadal won't be able to assault shoulder height balls over Federer backhand if there was rain soaked balls.

Nadal did nothing wrong in the 2nd set. Tsonga was just too good and broke Nadal the same way he broke Federer at Wimbledon, by going for broke. Although Tsonga wasn't REALLY too good, because Nadal won the tiebreaker.

They won't play in the rain. They'll have a "rain delay" just like 2011 RG final and 2012 RG final. RG only broke the rule in the 3rd set when they refused to have a rain delay in pouring rain, but they wised up in the end. That flouting of the rules isn't the norm.

Rufus 2/3 - 0 Novak

Their likely h2h result during this clay court season.

I'll take Djokovic.

He's rested and now getting better on the clay, for three sets he won't be getting tired so can go all out.

Djokovic hopefully, I want him to get the masters slam this season! Monte Carlo and Cinncinati.

Nadal should win this one. Not sure if it will be in straights or go to three sets but I pick Nadal for the win!

He couldn't trounce Dimitrov or Tsonga. Just how on earth is he going to trounce the guy who has owned him on all surfaces for the past 2 years?

Because he will be more focused from the get go against Djokovic than he was against Dimitrov or Tsonga, you can be sure about that. Hopefully Nadal will play more aggressively throughout the whole match. If he does that, he should be the victor no problem.

How so? It will not be an upset when Cvac beats Nadal tomorrow. It would only be an upset if Nadal were to beat Cvac.

If, and that's a big IF, Djoker plays in 2.0 mode (last seen against Ferrer at AO) Nadal (even at his best 10.0) is toast. Of course, without wind. If he plays like today he can still win but it will be close.

Will Nadal really push it up another several notches and make it very physical, putting Novak's ankle to the test over 2-3 sets? I think that we might see Nadal test out Novak's movement big time early in the first set. He needs to come out and set the tone as much as possible and see how Novak responds. If Novak does respond accordingly and basically responds well, then we might be in for some great tennis.

Clay H2H for past 2 years - Nadal 3-2 Djokovic

Thanks for playing.

Oh and how did Nadal lose to Zeb, almost lose against Alund and Berloq and then crush Ferrer and Nalbandian?

That 2.0 mode couldn't even beat a broken back 30 year-old on clay and you think he would beat a 7-time FO champion playing at his best.

why don't you change your profile pic into this (below) instead of posting this drivel throughout TTW... it's tedious as I can ignore you, but i still have to read 6 posts per page of replies to your copycat posts...

Because Ferrer and Nalby played horribly. And wasn't Nalby up a double break in the second set of that match? You also cannot compare those guys to a dude who has been practically untouchable for more than 2 years now.

What would you know? You keep screwing up you Nadal predictions, for the last 3 events....

And who has won their last 3 meetings? Dimi and Tsonga gave Nadal no rhythm (they played cat and mouse), whereas all Djokovic does is stand on or behind the baseline.

they said it might rain tomorrow. if it does, I'll take Novak in two.

It rained at 2012 Roland Garros, even on the 2nd day of that match when Nadal broke Djokovic twice in the 4th set....And it also rained at the 2011 Roland Garros final (vs Federer). Seems like rain favors Nadal.

I usually don't read your posts and just skim past them, but this right here shows you have no clue what you're talking about. Did you ever stop to think that Cvac loves rhythm himself? He is going to get into a groove against Nadal because Nadal will play the exact type of game that he feasts on. To beat Cvac you must have variety and mix it up. Giving him any sort of rhythm is the last thing you want to do.

Rain does not favor Nadal. He himself has said he doesn't like playing in wet conditions and likes sunny and dry weather. More proof you have no clue what's going on.

What did rhythm do for Djokovic at 2012 at Monte Carlo, Rome and Roland Garros? Face it, Nadal has stomped all over you and owned your boy for the last 3 matches.

Nadal doesn't like wet conditions, but he's so dominant on clay that he's still the favorite vs Djokovic and Federer based on the last 2 wet Roland Garros finals.

And he surrended the 3-0 lead and never won another game if I recall correctly.

Not on clay. On clay nadal has been practically untouchable for the past 2 years. Wait no, make that 9 years. But just from 2011 onwards he's -

3-2 vs Djokovic
9 titles to 3 (3 masters to 2, 1 slam to 0)
68-4 - Djokovic is 39-5

So Nadal has been nearly untouchable on clay -the results prove he has been better on clay than Djokovic, and it will be a huge upset if Djokovic becomes the first man in 9 years to take more than one set from Nadal at MC. No-one has even taken more than one set from Nadal at MC in total across multiple years! That's how dominant he is. His dominance at MC is the greatest of any player at any event in the history of open era tennis.

Not against Cvac.

Nadal is also not the same player he used to be. He has declined, and Cvac is now the better player. I know you won't agree but all you have to do is go back and watch old matches to see it. Cvac also moves better than Nadal does these days as well.

I also don't really care about past stats. I am talking about now and Cvac is the one to beat on all surfaces. You'll never convince me he isn't the favorite tomorrow because he is.

BS. Nadal has always struggles in wet conditions, clay included. While he's going to lose tomorrow regardless, if it's raining and humid tomorrow, he's going to get a beatdown.
