Please vote in the poll and post in this thread in support
of TW sponsoring TW poster Tonlars to play futures and itf pro
tournaments. In exchange he can blog about his adventure
and also review the sponsorship gear.

Thank you so much for your support and encouragement! This idea is extremely nice and the thought alone means alot. I would never expect something like this to happen but I appreciate the support and help.

Im working hard and very motivated for this tournament season. Im looking at alot of the best prize money open tournaments around the MWest or further, and would like to play at least one futures again this year. Over the last couple years I have won matches with several players that are ranked anywhere from the bottom up to 600 something, and had a 4 hour match that I lost to get a ranking of my own, so I think if I have enough tries I could make it happen. I will definitely update this year and again the encouragement here really means alot and it has been fun to meet some of the members here.

Count me in. I watched your last match live via stream in Winnipeg when you won the final. That was great hitting. Good luck.

I know I'd be visiting the website to see tonlars' blogs on his experiences very regularly. I'd trust his reviews of equipment as well.

Ye, it wouldn't be a bit investment for TW to maybe play for flights and Hotels, that's the big ticket part of Tournament play.

Tony is a professional coach, I am sure he has some deals on Racquets and Strings etc already.

Guy has such a great attittude and he has shown he can mix it at the level when healthy.

traveling fees are where the highest costs would be. im sure any help TW could give in this area would be huge. Here in so cal there a lot of tournaments during the summer. i think there are 3 futures events with a lot of qualifiers. even on tournament near my house for a wildcard into a 250 atp event. if your ever in my area tony i have a guest bedroom that you could crash in while playing in a tournament or two. you could pay me in *** kickings on the tennis court, lol.

Like wise Tony I am in Oklahoma ... I believe we host one tourney in OKC and one in Tulsa, I can provide free boarding, food and car for your convenience, hit me up if you decide to play the tourney here. I saw Sam Querrey and Rajiv Ram and several other players play up here.

Tonlars is one of the few people that actually have the skills, work ethic and
competitive fire to play futures (and beyond) and do well. He just needs the
opportunity and experience against higher level competition to take it to the
next level. He's pretty much topped out with his current resources playing
money opens and doing well in them.

Plus he has been a positive contributor on the TW boards -- even when
other posters are disrespectful to him.

The US futures are one of the tougher ones. Would be nice to see him get
some opportunities abroad as well like in Asia, etc.

Thanks Brittany, I just sent you an email! (to the info@ address)

Thanks again to everyone here for their positive encouragement, as well as the offers to stay during local tournaments. It would be fun to meet as well so if I am your way I may contact you.

Tony, if you ever need a site to train in S. FL when you are down here let me know. We have 2 very private neighborhood hard courts, ball machine, etc.

Also a Har Tru tennis center 1 mile away.

I've watched 1 stream and a couple vids of Tony. Would love to see him play live sometime.

Do you come anywhere near South Carolina during the tournament season Tony ?

Or South Florida? (Delray Beach, Miami, etc.)?

I would definitely like to get to some other locations for good tournaments, travel help would make it much easier to do so. Otherwise I generally play tournaments that I can drive to, though I still go quite a ways. Playing the Saskatoon Futures last summer was 14 hours driving, one way.

No word yet from TW, I did get an email from Chris saying it might be possible and he is looking into it with the owners. Thanks again guys, this whole idea is humbling and I really appreciate it.

Ton, we need more talented American players. I always enjoy watching your matches.

Unfortunately on the tour, the American ATP players are beginning to become phased out. The best American Male player we have is John Isner? Really? :-|

1. They should have him wear full TW clothing, but since they dont have a dri fit line they should give him TW patches to put on his clothing.

2. He will need to make videos / blogs for each event

3. I think $500 per event is fair for the above level

To properly vote on this question, there needs to be some background info, such as:

  • Where is the video?
  • Sans video, what level NCAA tennis did you play and at what position?
  • Who are your best wins in ITF/ATP events?
  • What was your Jr Nat/ITF ranking?
  • What company(s) is/are currently sponsoring you and at what level?
  • Who is your coach and what is his opinion?
  • What is your current Futures record?
  • What are your physical stats? Have you ever been seriously injured? Do you have any chronic injuries which affect play or training time?

You're new here, but thats ok. We'll go easy on you :)

Tonlars is very well known here, that is why the thread was created and why, if you go back some pages, TW looks like is going to offer him something.

Pleased to announce that TW will be helping me with an equipment sponsorship, and I will be blogging with their site in the same way that some of their own (Andy and Matt) have done in the past. Thanks again for the support TW and everyone here!

Started off the season on a pretty good note by winning the USPTA Indoors, which is held locally. Beat a former U of Minnesota #1 and top 40 player in the final that I have alot of respect for. He used to handle me pretty easily just 7-8 years ago before I made my improvement to where I am at now, and so it is really amazing sometimes to think of how far Ive come since then. Im really motivated for this year, and have alot more goals I want to accomplish but it was nice to solidify the fact that I am no longer injured and playing fairly well again. Still feel I can play better so will be working hard to shore up a couple areas before the tough events come up soon!

Congratulations Ton!

I don't remember about the racquet of your choice. What is it?
What shoes do you wear?
Are you a fan of any apparel?

So does this means that you will get these free? :)

Do you have any tournaments on the schedule so far? Any futures making the list?
