Has there ever been a CLEANER ball striker than Djokovic?

Now before the fed fans bring fed without thinking, he has shanked and framed more balls of his backhand especially that i've had hot dinners. I was thinking players like Berdych, del potro and nalbandian and more would be appreciated.

Agassi, Borg, Connors, Lendl, Wilander. Heck, even Sampras and McEnroe (the latter could be deceptively tricky from the baseline.)

Novak, is that you?

+1. Not taking anything away from Djokovic, but Andre takes this, especially since he was often taking the ball on the rise.

Djokovic is fantastic, but he'll certainly be behind Agassi in this regards.

Agassi's picture should be in the tennis text book besides the definition of clean ball striking.

Lol Djokovic is not one of the cleanest ball strikers, his backhand and ROS are among the best ever. His serve, volleys, slice, and forehand are all prone to looking bad however. The way he played against Murray in the wind last year was so ugly it was insane.

Davydenko.

Besides, I don't think anyone with a full western forehand grip (more extreme than Nadal's grip) is likely to be the cleanest ball-striker of all time, although the Djoker is extremely clean off the backhand wing.

Like Roger, Novak also has questionable parts of his game too. Questionable for volleys, slice and sometimes forehand.

I like Delpo when it comes to clean ball striking.

Acually when he flattens out his shots he hits extremley clean, but i'll take agassi as even cleaner. Davy also hit very clean too, how come no berdych so far??

I have never considered Djokovic's ball striking to be incredibly clean. His forehand especially at times looks awkward. I'd look to Agassi in recent times as a clearly cleaner ball striker, who was even deadly consistent on the baseline half volleys.

Rafael Nadal hits a much cleaner ball than novak djokovic, and any other past greats in tennis history. Roland Garros 2012 had some of the cleanest ball-striking I've ever seen (from Rafael Nadal). :p

Have you seen his backhand? there is nothing cleaner.

rafael nadal does not come close to hitting as clean a ball as Novak Djokovic.

I've seen his whole career. He's clean. It's just not something that has amazed me say to the level of his return or even his ability to come in a match, such as his numerous MP saving displays over recent years. Where as with say Agassi, Davydenko and Nalbandian the first thing I am thinking is wow, the ball striking.

It's the forehand and how his half volley forehands often kick the ball up and leave it short (though he has been improving this) which spoil his ball striking somewhat for me.

Even if Djok was a top tier in this "category", the value of "clean" ball striking is vastly overrated...with risk comes reward! Trophies are handed to players for winning the right points at the right time.

I love the way Davy hits the ball.

^^ This. Davydenko is amazing. The guy steps in on baseline depth shots... Case in point (it looks like the ball slows down for him before contact... wow): http://youtu.be/zlHrEbgIq0E?t=3m9s

Obviously Aggassi is the top of the list, but i really think Nikolay is close... sometimes he hits angles i didn't think were possible off of shots he has no business returning that way.

We all love a clean hitter, remember the stir Del potro gave when he first started blasting his forehand against roddick in the american hardcourt season the tennis world was going crazy including posters on here.

Yes. There has been. As shown by this rather unflattering watermarked picture.

Shame she moved like an ocean liner though.

Come to think of it, didn't Richard Krajicek hit very cleanly off the ground aswell?

Currently, I want to say Nalbandian. Out of all the matches I've seen of him, I've never seen him shank a ball. I"ve seen others shank, but not him. Davydenko is up there since he can cleanly take the ball early, but I haven't seen enough of his matches for me to conclude.

Connors....he hits the ball on the sweet spot every single time.....bar slices.

Agassi as well....he was not the best athlete but he made it up for it with inhuman timing. Djokovic is not ever near his level of taking the ball on the rise.

Cleanest Ball Striker: Agassi. If Agassi can move like Djokovic....he would be undefeated.

I like picking Davy. I'm usually Becker, if not, I'm Simon, Denko-Davy, or the Muzz.

I like playing the computer straight up with my created players.

Haven't played too much king of the hill so far.

Its crazy, in career mode I destroyed rafa at the FO, destroyed fed at USO but got destroyed by rafa at the USO final of all places.

^^Weird that he beat you at the USO. I hate playing on clay on the game, I much prefer the HC's. You don't play 2Kopen? I don't like playing the computer, the online competition is superb. I have super close matches with everyone. Here's one from yesterday, when I was beckz..

Eh, after owning the game for almost 2 years I finally started playing it.

I didnt like the game play because it was so counterintuitive, but I must say, it really creates a realistic tennis experience in terms of proper timing, strategy and movement.

But. I need to. Work on volleying and timing before I brave online gaming. That and being able to hit the corners with the special R3 serve
