Will Nadal get back the world number 1 by the end of the year?

With N Djokovic playing pretty bad tennis for a world number 1, Rafael Nadal in eventually take back the world number 1. Nadal will most likely win RG, Wimbledon, and USO. Is it possible for Nadal to rightfully take back the world number 1 by the end of the year?

If djokovic doesn't defend his post Wimbledon points and nadal stays healthy and makes finals he has a shot its not impossible. It all depends on how djokovic is playing.

It would actually be nice to see after all the injuries and people writing him off. I still think he will win at least three more french opens. I am not a serious Nadal freak either.

I would say Federer would be nice as well but he sucks now and has bad hair so I dont think it will happen. Maybe if he switches to a longbody widebody oversize racquet with super duper polyester string he could do it. Obvioussly he would have to get a new haircut as well. Maybe even some botox around the eyes. Definitly a nose job. At this rate he will look like Gene Wilder by this time next year.

Highly likely

I think it is highly likely that Nadal will be the year end number 1. In fact i can't really see anyone stopping that. The reason for this is that he already leads the points race, and in the second half of the year he has zero points to defend. So everything is cream for him. Can't see anyone being ahead of him in the rankings at the end of the year.

What?? Technically NO ONE is defending any points in the second half of the year, if we're going by the race, since in the points race, there is no such thing as defending points.

All I will add right now is for Nadal fans to pray he stays healthy.

I do pray a lot. Not to the fed_is_god but kind.......
But seriously, anything can happen. Even Muzza can take it if he gets to defend all his ponts + some. Hopefully a competitive EOTy play offs......

Are you freakin kidding me?

So NDjokovic can't even get past TBerdych on clay. Will RNadal-TBerdych become the most prominent rivalry on clay for the next few clay Masters 1000 tournaments?

Its really not that hard to see. Nadalis the more accomplished player other than Fed who is at the tail end of his career. Djokavik has fallen off slightly. Its not like those finals with Rafa and Djok were blowouts. Rafa should have won Austrailia last year. He had it and just let it slide away.

I think right now Rafa has the edge.

Murray? Who knows, he is kind of unpredictable right now. He amy never win another major again and last year will be his peak. He may also win Wimbledon. Theres a lot going on upstairs with Murray.

Maybe I'm a bit bias here, but Murray is definitely winning some more Slams.

Carnak the Magician speaks! Great Carnak please tell me who will win the US Open this year.

What are you going to do if he never wins another major? Will you rebel?

Haha, rebel ? I will exhort the revolutionaries from Scotland and start World Domination, and Muzza will be the World Leader........

To elaborate

I know what you are trying to say, but the is no confusion. Nadal is as high as number 5 based on nothing earned points wise in the second half of last year. His number 5 ranking is from the last 12 months. What do you think he will be at the end of the year when he doesn't have any points to defend from the second half of the year? Any tournament he enters in the second half of the year add to his total, versus his rivals who will only add or subtract the differential between what they earned last year vs this year. I think you will see Nadals ranking skyrocket.

As long as he gets 2013 Player of the Year, its all good. I would enjoy watching Nadal win the 2014 AO and receiving the number one ranking just after he beats Dj in the final. That would be poetry.

Nadal won't end the year at 1, he will end the year at 2. Murray will be 3 and Federer will be 4, but Federer and Murray will switch back and forth a lot.

Well, never say never. Anything can happen. Djokovic could get injured. Murray into another slump. And Federer so old, that we can hear his back crack everytime he serves.
