nice looking grub! What beer did u use for the beer batter?
snake bite is initally felt like a harsher RPM Blast in the beginning. Now it's gotten alot more softer after alittle break in time. I would say it's still firmer than Silverstring (which is still my fav poly). But it's really got great bite. Got a half a set of Snake Bite left if you want to try out. Do you work in DC? If so, JRStriker and I can meet you for lunch. I remember back when you mentioned you played on the tennis courts near Federal Reserves. Still need to get access to them courts.
Powercord seems very soft after hitting against my palm this morning. Hoping it'll be a silverstring equivalent. I strung it in the lower-mid 40's too.
My fav string for Goldenset is still Maximal. Wow, it's really soft and comfortable. It's like pillow fighting with a tennis ball. Just that it has really bad tension maint.

cb -- i'm also enjoying my poly in the low 40's. i think string tension and your age should be equal. when i'm over 100 years old, i may revisit this theory.

I did not get a hit. I have not hit with Mikeler. I hit with Mclovin.. and like Johnny Dangerously.. once.. just once.
The only hit I got.. was the price for admission to a (IMO) dreadful movie @ Superman.

Not starting something with you and your Tampa folk.. but if we play and its competitive (or I win)...will the USTA computer explode?
I am signing up for 3 mixed teams today. 4.0 btw.. yeah baby. I already moved up .5.
Now it will take maybe 15 more teams to sign up before I get to Topaz status or Chris Downs status. Accidentally of course.

Isn't the USTA computer like the Matrix?
It is much more powerful than the Matrix. If the Matrix is a TRS 80, the USTA computer is Big Blue.

Cool... I used Modelo Especial I think and some chili powder in with the flour. It came out great. I haven't had much of a chance to play on the Fed tennis courts so far this year. Ill have time later this summer. And when Im not in a project crunch, I can meet you guys for lunch. I do usually go out for lunch on Fridays too.
For the tennis string, I'm looking for something with good tension maintenance, soft poly, good spin. I'm interested in trying out the Yonex string. The demo I tried had it and I liked it. No idea how old it was or tension. Plus the fluorescent yellow might distract my opponents!

I still have half a case of Modelo at home. I always used PBR for my tempura mix, don't know why but PBR seems to have the highest fizz amongst alot of beer I've had before.
Soft Poly. PowerCord. I just strung it up in the mid/lower 40's with syn gut. Very soft when hitting on palm. Still need to play with it to confirm. Let me know if you want to try. Other than that, Silverstring is pretty soft as well. But @ $12/set, it's pretty expensive for me. Let us know when u are free. JRStriker and I usually goto Metro Center. Don't know which metro stop you work closest by, but happy medium between Striker and I.

Speaking of bbq. I grilled a large squid the other day. Just used oil, lemon juice, and S&P. It's really good. Got the idea from one of Bourdain's visits to Italy.
Paulman: Thanks for the recipe, made it this weekend. Instead of chicken breast, I used thighs. I used some saffron flower buds instead of the real thing. Had the color but 0 saffron smell.

just got back from playing with powercord 17g. very soft poly. is softer than silverstring. very comfortable strung in the mid 40s. has really good spin and power as well.

i thought peeps were calling it the x-bone. looks like they reversed their stance on DRM and the always online component. i expect a repeat of the ps3/xbox360. ps4 will get all the buzz and early sales since they come out earlier and cheaper. and then the huge masses will buy a xbone including a bunch of old people who don't even play any games because it's a media device and they can skype with their grandchildren while sitting on their couch. done.

I play video games to be anti social.. so please stop trying to connect me to every f-ing thing b/c i really don't need a broadcast on how many people i have ran over in my tank nor the wife to know how many hours i've logged on bf3..
funny side story. dinner with dats + wives. dats and i were comparing stats when dats's wife realized that play time stat of days is based off of 24hrs. the look was priceless... i'll add how that look lives in my memory.. it was like a spark, following by lightblub, following by math, followed by disgust.. = totally awesome

its a fancy way of saying companies use tactics to control consumer's ability to use their goods and services related to ownership.
msft initially wanted to control the use of their games in their Xbox one consoles to only the original seller. this would devastate stores like gamestop bcz they rely part of their business in used game sales. also jrstriker can't lend me his online games without authorization to msft. not to mention how it affects second sales such as on CL and fleabay.
msft is trying to throw he baby out with the bathwater to tackle privacy, but there's got to be a better way.
