Distinctions and Differences: The observations of 3.0 bounding to 4.0

Not sure why you need a fully healed ankle to show your serve.
My ankle has torn tendons, I have not run in over 7 years, and my serve still is fast enough to trouble anyone short of a real solid 5.5 when it goes in, first or second. Second almost always goes in. First maybe 35% if I'm hitting full speed.

Lol? By trouble do you mean like...."damn, I'm not sure which corner I want to smash this return into?"

"like, better return from 5' behind the baseline against my first serve, or face a few body shots and some horrendous shanks thrown in with a few clean winners...."

Well, in my summer boredom I downloaded the video ... counted frames and used the serve speed calculator. I get a very respectable 96. mph.

145, maybe 150. Remember leed is a god among men here on the forums.

Everyone in the ATP Top 10 would have trouble with leed's serve. It's THAT good.

He can even throw a football over them mountains, ya know?

First I thought that was too high an estimate. My guess was 135 at most. But I had forgotten to add on 10mph for the mad lefty spin. So yeah, 145 is right.

Did you notice the huddle of 5.5s in the corner hiding and shaking in fear?

LeeD and I would destroy rising 5.5 players.

96 is respectable. For a no running cripple as leed claims its pretty impressive.
But he is not going to scare anyone who can actually play. No way a 5.5 or open player will cringe when faced with his serve as he claims. Lefty twist or not.

Leed probably serves faster than I do. But I'm still not buying ex ATP pro and open players can't return his serve.

I wasnt saying leed is servimg 96. I think anyone with reasonable technique can hit 100. So if I see your video which I have not its entirely possibly you break 100. Its when people claim 120 im calling bs. From 100 to 120 is a huge gulf.

I actually dont think lee hit 96 in that vid. But its hard to say its also weird angle.

Yep, not even close to 96 in that video, more like 75-80.

so, at 75 mph, on a cold, damp night, LeeD's serve still takes a camera on the back fence on the full serving wide?

allied to Dizz's statement, I think 96mph seems pretty accurate. Look at his technique, nice easy action..

as for Jososfo, I don't recall your vid so I really don't know.

motor mouth's GF left him?? I am surprised...

i would take the under on 96 (on ones he made) he whacked one into the net, that was over 96.

I noticed that on my serve I started to destroy the balls quite frequently. I was once playing a rich, county club snob, and while his trophy wife was watching, I hit an amazing inside out forehand from 10ft behind the baseline for a winner. The ball actually exploded at the seam when it hit the opposite fence, and a small fragment hit his trophy wife. He got mad and immediately wanted to fight, but since I am an Ivy League school, backup lacrosse player, my large muscles and vocabulary were able to fend him off.

I then won the match easily, taking the entire 2.5 tournament with EASE. Most of the players were falling 3.0's, were as I am an athletic but completely uncoordinated 5.5, with limited vision in one eye.

You guys are some real haters...although my gal is the best looking trophy around...she was a runner up for Miss Hungary within the past eight years...5 ft 10 and plus 2s...i only date models and beauty queens...

but yea, I like to stand behind the baseline and crack winners...I dont even run to balls anymore...I serve and strike...

Actually I think Miss Universe herself plays 3.5 and is undefeated as long as she plays mixed in a bikini.

I was at the backboard this morning and there was an older guy serving 130 bombs that you could hear for miles as they smacked against the warm brick. Even non-tennis fans were gathered around watching him practice GOAT serves.

I heard a loud thunder sound this morning in Boston, that would explain the noise, it sounded like it was coming from a few states away, maybe even cross country.

My first thought shoulda been an old man serving 130 bombs off a wall. Not sure why I didn't think of that at the time.

She decided she'd only date guys who are 3.5 or better? She prefers guys with both a forehand and a backhand? Or maybe it's because big serves only last for a few seconds?

Silly to have a g/f vid your serves.
She's likely walking around, checking out the dudes, daydreaming about lunch, and the better b/f she's gonna be meeting.
Dude, stick the camera behind you on the backfence, use tape, and you're independent. Or use a 5' tripid.

This kind of reminds me of something Arnold Schwarzenegger once said:

“The better you get, the less you run around showing off as a muscle guy. You know, you wear regular shirts-not always trying to show off what you have. You talk less about it. It's like you have a little BMW - you want to race the hell out of this car, because you know it's just going 110. But if you see guys driving a Ferrari or a Lamborghini, they slide around at 60 on the freeway because they know if they press on that accelerator they are going to go 170. These things are the same in every field.”

He's right. :) Just substitute tennis for bodybuilding.

You should give up dating models and beauty queens. They aren't the best risk. Take it from a guy whose problems generally stem from women.

I was guessing around 90+ mph, so 96 seems in the margin of error. There is a huge difference in the number of people who can hit over 100 vs. those who can hit 120mph - you are getting near the tail of the ball curve.

Depends on what you mean by older. I saw a guy a few years ago practicing serves in that mph range. Turned out he was an ex-ATP pro (generally doubles) who at one time had the second-fastest timed serve in the world.
There are a few people like that in the world. 10 years from now Sam Groth may be out practicing his serve somewhere.

Aurellian, you said you pay $600 a month for tennis lessons and have a lot of money. You're gf is gone so you now have gobs more money you're not dumping on her. Just pony up $10 or $20 to anyone who will film you. Or buy a 5 to 6' tripod and mount your camera there. It's stable and even better than Miss America checking her looks shaking the camera all over the place anyway.

The mistake you are making is assuming he would actually like to post a video.

It is much more fun to simply make up outrageous stories and pretend like you are someone than to show everyone who you are and let them realize you are nothing.

I said I have a lot of money? No way, that's the silver spoon fellow with the Phantom. My fiscal situation could certainly be improved.

My ankle is still killing me and I have limited movement. I need to recover so I can put forth my best effort.

I suffered a CAT II sprain, can't I have time to heal?

The problem is that it's hard to downgrade beauty. When you have a hot woman on your arm it establishes your position. And I can't date a regular looking girl anymore...would love too....especially since these women don't add value, but showing up with a 9 at a tennis tournament gets immediate props...

Do you ever think the people YOU date feel the opposite? They are willing to downgrade to an average looking joe because he has a 150mph serve @ 3.0.
