Just wondering.
Yes, youngsters, I used to write here.

I remember you, your user name anyway--barley. No idea anything about you otherwise.
Suresh n. 1?
But that was not my question.
...it seems the forum hasn't changed that much really.
Considering the grammatical structure of your thread title it was difficult to understand your question.
Everyone still doesn't believe LeeD, ClintRock got married and has kids, BungalowBill don't post after his second revival, and Suresh is still No.1.
I'm deeply sorry.
GOAT hug?

As long as FedAce is still banned there is no reason to post here.
This post defeats my statement...
Alot.
Saying the old times were better is something that happens alot, but the old forum was better.
Well, considering the grammatical composition of your post, it was easy to imagine that you were talking about a cereal harvest.
Dilly's TW Dictionary was epic.
Looks like Phil and Deuce retired for good. I still check this out sometimes.
not just by a little either. Old forums where fun. Now its a check here and there and nothing. the silly fun threads have even died off. its a shame but such is life. Things change for better or worse they just change.
Phil simply disappeared about 2? years ago. He may have croaked at his keyboard.
No epic I am leaving the board thread, just gone with the wind.
Deuce was ejected after one too many brawls with a bratty youngster.
He might be here under another name. Hard to believe someone who was so into posting would accept dismissal when it is so easy to come back.
FedAce is in graduate school at ultra prestigious Staford University.
LarryH is still retired. But, like Deuce, I imagine is here under another name(s) as old habits die hard.
Other than that, SOS.
Which are you referring to? This forum, just a few years back? Or the old boards <2004 timeframe? Are you calling this current forum one suffering from a weak era?

its a few years back now. It just slowly declined in quality over the years. Its not like GPP was ever a great place but now its unusable. I tried to read a few after i saw the other thread and ya its as bad as they say it is.
I kinda laugh at everyone blaming kids. I can remember some of the worst flame wars on these boards coming from adults. I wont go into specific stuff but I can recall some of the most vile stuff and false accusations coming from adult posters.
seems like the good posters moved on to elsewhere. I can recall good debate and discussion in the health and fitness section years back with some quality knowledgeable posters. They have all moved on.
I dont really know what the solution to the decline in quality is. your not getting those posters back anytime soon so your kinda stuck with what you got.
It was better when there was a rants and raves section. We're all adults here and can handle whatever "heat" might arise in the pseudo-reality of the internet world. For me, macht's nicht. I'm an independent and a moderate; interesting to see the liberal vehemence (and fangs) at times.
I think of Rabbit as the quintessential and MVP poster here. It's nice to see comments that are thought out before scribbled and put up.

3+ years for Phil since his last visit. I could have sworn he was banned or something. I miss Phil and Deuce, I think they would be giving a lot of 'youngsters' a good ol' fashioned telling off every once in a while.
Actually, Deuce got banned long ago, which was one of the best things to happen to this forum.Looks like Phil and Deuce retired for good. I still check this out sometimes.

I dunno, I remember that he was extremely cranky, but I feel like "best things to happen to this forum" is a bit of a stretch, all things considered. He straight up insulted me many times, but I thought his brutal honesty was somewhat refreshing. He wasn't downright toxic like a lot of stuff I've been seeing -- just grumpy.
I've taken some polls and feedback about changes that can be made to the boards and presented my case to the admins, we'll see if they get around to looking into these changes. I should bring that back up, now that I think about it...

I do a few other forums and its just the nature of the high activity sections to be flame wars. Where as the small activity ones seem to kinda form their own little community. Maybe thats a solution create a big four section and than an everyone else section. Give them an area where they can tell each other why Nadal or Federer is the worst person on the planet so the rest of the boards can get a talk in.
I just remember him being incredibly judgmental. Making huge assumptions based off the smallest little thing he could find.
I remember Superstition for one thread... and it turns out it's still there!there was another poster by the name of Superstition
Rabbit is great, but when people mention rabbits I can't help but think of Tina with the bunny avatar. Not even Chopin deserved a stalker.Rabbit is the GOAT.
Does anyone else remember a poster who went by the name Senator Jay Bullworth? Now HE was great.

You can skim-read to post #57; just pay a little attention to which side of the argument he has taken, and how persistent he has been. And his avatar.

That name sort of rings a bell.
Was he the poet or the humble public servant ?
I feel bad for humanity when I read the GP section. It's sad because you can tell a lot of those folks are actually adults.

. Also, Enlightened Coelacanth was an amazing poster. Now there's someone who ****ed people off.
Wasn't EC a second account for another poster. I thought he said he was earlier AlwaysAtTheNet or something like that.
Speaking of which, what happened to the girl with the "like Kournikova with a better serve" avatar?
you mean MegacedU. Havnt seen a post from her in a long time. Another that moved on. Same as alot of the old female posters.
Yeah, I'm very aware that it's not "just" kids, although the play-by-play/short term memory/sensationalism/gif spam/inability to actually argue (read as debate) without insulting others can be attributed to a skewed younger age range.
Didn't someone (an ex?) post nude pics of her on here at one point? They were up for a few hours. Figures I would miss that.
I'm beginning to feel my age here. Well, not really since my posts are transcendent and timeless.
Seriously, over the years I've become a legend. It makes my earlier posts seem that much more prescient.
