I give in. This is the one. It's easily my fave poly. Given my racketaholic tendencies, I'm going to remove the variable of 'which string' and stay with Solinco TB. It just has that something special, that x factor quality... crunching... 'bitey'... great power and spin and control... similarish to Alu IMO, but it seems to last longer, feels a bit better, is a bit cheaper, and some would argue generally performs just a tad better... all praise be to TB!... BTW, I like the 1.25.

So, who's ready to commit?... who wants to talk Tour Bite?... I tell you, folks, this string is so incredible, I'm about to string up my guitar with the stuff.

Ha! I second this, Ross.

My first hit with this in 1.20mm in a hybrid with Maxim Touch (M:54 X:57) was a complete revelation. Streets better than the setups I had tried previously (mainly cheaper / mid priced polys).

Great bite, huge pop on serve, an unerring predictability, good tension maintenance, easy on the arm (in this hybrid at least) and adequate power and feel. Love it!

Going to test it with MCS and RIP Control soon, but liking what I've got at the moment.

How would u compare the tension maintance to black codes? i use black codes now and i like the tension maintance of that string for a poly and wonder if tour bite is similar?

I'm not decided about testing this string because of the durability. Anyone played with PHT? Which of this two strings have more durability?

Tour bite is one of the best if not the best textured/shaped poly I've ever used. And the prepackaged Vanquish and TB is also phenomenal. The spin from a full bed tour bite is insane. I had never seen SO MUCH yellow fuzz flying off of new balls until using tour bite. I literally felt that I was in danger of ripping balls in half. Great string!

how does it compare to luxilon Alu Power?

How does Tour Bite compare to luxilon Alu Power? In terms of power, control, spin, feel, tension maintenance and comfort? Thanks

I wouldn't say it's a comfortable poly it's pretty stiff compared to some. Compared to luxilon it's maybe a little more comfortable in my opinion. I found better spin the tension maintenance is top notch and the feel is decent. I'd say it's a cut above luxilon in just about every category other than power as Alu power performs better at lower tensions than TB . Again just one mans opinion. I've since switched to polys that allow higher tensions but tour bite is an excellent string.

I am not sure what you're talking about however, I tried the BC two years ago (when they came out) and it felt great, performed well for the first 2 hours, then, that was it! The most disappointing tension maintenance string. Recently, I tried it again -- a great feel and spin, but the tension killed it quickly.
I have seem many polys out there with much better tension maintenance than the BC and I am hoping that the Tour Bite is one of them...

I use VS Team 17 natgut mains and AluRough or BlackSavage cross, but always looking for a new poly to try in the crosses.

Has anyone tried Tour Bite as cross string with the main string being natgut or prime multi and would like to share their thoughts on such a setup ??

I can't get the Tour Bite in my country so haven't had the chance to test it, but will buy some stuff from TW USA next week and thought about ordering a reel of 1.25 or 1.20 Tour Bite as cross string.....

Please share your views :)

Recently started using it. I had "golfer's elbow," so I was previously using softer strings. Once the arm was better, I put some tour bite on a racket and was amazed at the difference.
This morning I played with two rackets. I lost the first set playing with a racket with soft "arm friendly strings." I won the second set when I switched to the tour bite racket. Balls that would have sailed long stayed it. It's almost unfair using these strings because it's like the opponent's court is a foot longer than normal.
Since I've just started using these strings, can anyone tell me how many hours they typically last? Also, how do these strings compare to Black 5 Edge?

Hey Bite Club members LOL!

Been a while actually since I've used TB - a bit of experimenting with other polys and poly/multi hybrids, but, well... I'm just about ready to come home.:)

Just wondered then, as I haven't been keeping up with things poly-wise in the last six months or so, if any of you who previously really rated TB have found anything you prefer to it or that gives a run for its money?

Or is TB still the one to beat?

I've been using technifibre x-one biphase and recently put tour bite on as main and with gosen micro at cross, both at 53 pounds. I find the power lacking. The bite is incredible though.

I played 3 sets with a full bed of TB 16 @ 53 lbs. the other day. This was my first time playing with a full bed of any poly and it was, overall, a good experience. No arm issues after 2 sets. Usually, I string racquets with non-poly at 62 and felt that 53 lbs was a good tension.

Sorry, Ross, I hate to disappoint, but I'm in the natural gut/poly cross club. I did feel compelled however to compliment your OP. It would appear you have crossed the amateur/professional post threshold!

Tour Bite felt plasticy and stiff to me, like all the other polys I've tried made in Taiwan/China, just missing the feedback. The bite is ok, but I prefer the German made 3G copolys.

For the Tour Bite lovers - do you like the original TB better than the "Soft" version? If so, why?

I've only played with TBS, but I thought it was a very good string.

TB is a great string. If you want control, this is your ticket.

I'm kind of torn between TB and BHBR. It's kind of like dating two women, one has everything you could ask for and you can count on her. The other one rides a motorcycle and sometimes carries a gun.

Just to add to the confusion, I got the free RPM Blast deal with my PDRs. Initially, it wasn't love at first sight. More like a blind date your aunt set you up on. OK, but no magic. Then I realized how great Blast is, the sublime control, the power, just the right amount of spin, great feel. An expensive date though.

Great analogy.

Spinny, I have not played TBS (yet) so I can't comment on that. Tour bite is actually a middle of the road string for me in the power department. Its not necessarily low powered, but it doesn't have that "launch ready" feel, which I do not care for. It's the perfect string for my game. Currently using 17g @54 lbs in my speedport black.

I thought it was obvious. TB is Ms. Reliable, BHBR is exhilirating but a little scary at times. Blast is that rich girl you saw hanging around the pool at the country club.

It's taken me many years to learn the lesson but the gun carrying girl on the motorcycle is the one you should definitely avoid.:lol:

Hey spinovic, shame-faced to admit it but I've never tried TBS. Diary Racketaholic regs like Gads and PED could definitely fill you in here though. For me, TB is just the string I keep coming back to, despite my 'stringaholic' nature. In certain frames it's just totally unbeatable in my book. Crispy stiff. Great control/power/spin balance. More than decent performance life or whatever. String it pretty low and voila!

Just curious. Like I said, I've only tried the soft version and thought it was good. I've never tried it again, nor have I bought any in the vast array of strings I have purchased and am waiting to try. I've come pretty close to buying the 1.10 mm Tour Bite, but for some reason have never pulled the trigger.

If the regular is as good as the soft, I can see why people like it.

Guys, it's just strings on a racket, that YOU control, and you're 90% of the entire equation.
I play about the same with PrinceTourneyNylon15 gauge at 52 lbs as anything else.
When I suck, I suck.
When I play well, it ain't the strings that played well.
That said, I do use TB16 at 47 lbs. String tension maintainance has to be among the best.

Yeah, I've been bitten. The first time I tried it I felt like I could literally place the ball anywhere I pointed the racquet. Reality eventually settled in of course. But of all the polys I've tried, this is definitely one of, if not the best. I use it in a hybrid and I also get quite a bit of power compared to other polys. Simply put, the string is Epic.

I didn't care for TB Soft though; a little too soft. I prefer a stiffer poly, even if my arm doesn't always agree.

Haha no problem man! This string and racket combo makes me feel like I'm bringing a bazooka to a gunfight...however this bazooka has lazer guided missles and I seem to hardly miss when I really pull the trigger ;) loving it.

Totally agree with you, however this is the first poly that actually seems to HELP me when I'm down. It's fantastic.

I'm a Tour Bite soft user. It is the absolute best string I have used. When swinging well and loose, the spin is out of this world. One of my regular opponents thought my returns felt like a bowling ball on their frames. My ball was heavier than they ever remember.

Yes, Tourbite has that affect on me... so much so, I bought a Solinco racquet to try out. Isn't this how Babolat came to power??? :shock:

How is the Tour Bite Soft versus RPM Blast ? Did you have the opportunities to compare them ?
