This thread won't die.
So I may as well jump in.
I've been back into tennis for four years now after 23 year hiatus.
Starting back playing 4 years ago, syngut (mostly ogsm) then some multi's and now trying full bed gut. I've never really used poly, but now for the least year or so I've been battling TE/GE and a shoulder all of which have slowly been getting better.
I'm mid-range 4.0, all court, moderate topsin, solid volleys/netgame.
Playing a Microgel Rad MP (95 inch) at just under 12 oz, ~325 sw.
I usually string the above strings at #58, sometimes lower for cool weather.
How is this setup on the arm/elbow?
I'm very interested to try a gut hybrid but not sure which direction to go, OR IF I EVEN SHOULD. I like the idea of added spin potential and saving some money, but the poly scares me as I don't want to play dead strings while the gut just keps plugging along.
I don't keep much poly around but i have a few options on hand already (Pro Line II-17 being the "best", likely, as well as Prince Tour16, Polylon16 and some Moto that came with free glide hybrid). Maybe I'll get a set of Co-Focus. I have some Glide to try (got it free) as well as several syn/multi options.
Normal full gut (Klip 17g) at 58, what tensions would one recommend?
