New Graphene Radicals/Prestiges for 2014

Just picked up my Youtek Prestige Mid after getting strung at my local shop. Manager of the shop said the Head rep brought the new Mid in (I asked if he was sure it wasn't the Rev Pro - he said he's sure it was the new Mid) - and it's still going to be out before year end. We'll see.

There 100% will not be a new "Mid". The Rev Pro is a 93" head size but is a different mold to the Mid

So much going wrong with this entire thread. A lot of bush-leaguers on here. First off, yes, it's a total d*ck move to post smartphone pictures of the frames, when the rep who kindly showed them to you, asked you to respect a privacy agreement. That rep obviously felt highly enough of you to show you the frames long before their intended launch date, and you turned right around and proved why your generation is rapidly destroying civilization. Stein - show some respect towards the industry and respect the widely understood etiquettes. Secondly, what everyone should be talking about is not the paintjobs of the Radicals (which are dramatically different, yes), but more importantly how the flex rating jumps to a whopping 68 RA, and the string pattern opens to 16x19, leaving this once treasured "feel-oriented" frame in the history books. The Radical MP is essentially now, just a Blade 16x19. Looks like the PACIFIC XForce line now stands alone, and should garner the patronage of all those who don't wish to hit the ball ten feet long on every groundstroke, with nothing to show for it but defeats and sore elbows.

Agree with talking about the specs in stead of just the paint. About showing the pictures has nothing to do with respect! Just a difference of opinion about marketingstrategie.
Sorry if i have offended anyone. But many people ask for pictures and (with some help) i give it to them. What is the problem. Many smart companies would really appreciate the free extra publicity! It is 2013 not the 1980's. You can use the power of the crowd. it is free and works perfectly.
Forcing the exact timing and determing what your customers see and how they see it, now that is a great lack of respect.... to your customers. Not my lack of respect for the business. HEAD makes great frames. I think the best in the business. But their attitude towards customers is arrogant.
They should thank us for showing pictures and talking about their new stuff. many promotors are on these forums.
So really ask yourself the question: Who is lacking respect?
Me for promoting the newest HEAD frames
Or HEAD for forcing their marketingactivity on us.

Pfffttttt will have to start stocking up on the radical pro then....stupid move by head!

Stupid or genius? Say you drop a ton of money on rackets they aren't going to make anymore (stuff they want to get rid of). Then they come out with this new line. Nobody likes them, then the line after, they bring the old stuff back, and you feel a bit stupid because you dumped a bunch of money on rackets you didn't need to buy.

Doubt Head is thinking like this, but it'd be funny nonetheless. I felt the same when the K90 was going out. Was happy with my choice when the BLX90 came out, and felt weird when the PS90 came out. Found problems with the PS90 and am glad I got those K90s. :O Don't have too many of them though. :/

Stein don't worry about a post like that..

If Head gave you the rackets -and you're probably not the only one- I'm sure they expect people to leak some photo's on the internet and generate some buzz about the new racket line.

Come to think of it.. I think that letting people play with these rackets before they are officially on the market or letting them see the rackets, only is about generating interest in the racket, so you're probably doing exactly what Head expects you to do.

Well, you either go with the flow or stock up. I think that the racquet companies are fine with that either way. I have enough racquets for probably ten years (my last batch was coincidentally from stein) and I have a set of older frames that I'm fine with using should those go.

Djokovic did that ad with the black SUVs and the tennis case handcuffed to his wrist ahead of product launch so Head does this too.

BTW, I can see more pros using paintjobs as the retail world is moving to stiffer and stiffer.

Went to a tennis party last night and the " Head rep" was there w/ the new sticks coming out this November. She said the racquets are lighter w/ a higher sw , more weight distributed toward the head. Played the Radical mid only, felt real solid, was nailing my forehand, but the bkhnd was lacking stick, probably because the PD has made me lazy.

So the Radicals are now stiff at 68?

That is a major bummer. They were such great feel frames that also played well from the Baseline.

ahhhh.

I hate it, especially at the cost of feel. I think power comes more from swingweight and good timing more than a higher RA.

I have a feeling that Head's sale data, despite much love around here, has shown that demand for 18/20 patterns has collapsed.

And Wilson and Prince string patterns will accelerate this perception that fewer strings is better for your game.

A few images on hand for Prestige Graphene 2014

Sorry for the pic quote. But this thing looks so f*cking sick. Man I love those fcking grommets and the colored cap. Reminds me of my Green and Silver Prestige. Love those colored grommets and the paintjob.

I was in our local tennis shop and I am told the demo's are do in any day. The Head Rep was through last week and showed him both lines. I am dying to know what everyone thinks of how they feel. Let's hear what you think!

I was hoping to see Head basically make a PT57A type stick with their new Radical MP. Basically, a Berdych special with that nice, flexy feel.

Oh well.

I like the new prestige look actually. Didn't think I would.

Not sure why leather on an MP is a fail, but OK..lol. I have leather on my 98 and I love it.

Ask Oro nicely he might post some for you, he took a bunch of phots of the Radicals. I am still very disappointed that they discontinued the prestige mid 18x20!!

I think it comes down to $'s, w/ King Fed on the decline & the only pro using a 90, not rocket science - better stock up now.:

I don't like the red grommets, but it won't bother me because I'm not too worried about the look of a racket and I cover them up with head tape anyway.
Surprised that there isn't an 18x20 mid plus. I'm using a MG Prestige Pro and was thinking about going back to an 18x20 like my old PT280, because it is just so sensitive to the strings. Balls fly unless I have fresh poly in it. I'd like to use gut/poly to save my arm, but can't control it as soon as the poly loses any tension.
I might try the 93 with 16 mains. That might work out, but if the stiffness is up at 67 I can't use any of them.

Fed is not the only Pro using a 90. Robin Haase uses the Prestige Classic 600 and Tobias Kamke uses the IG Prestige Mid.

If you want something close to what Berdych uses nice and soft try the IG Radical Pro before its too late. Just customize it to a nice spec like 340g strung.

Ive heard good things about the Graphene Prestige MP. We will see when I get my chance to hit with it. Dont know when this will happen though.

Very cool, I am interested in seeing how it compares to the Tfight 315 to you.

That is what I am using now and I really like it a lot.
