Anyone been to the Prince NYC Store yet?

Swingweight specs on frame are always unstrung which is only fair. If you wanted to weigh yourself, you do it in the bathroom scales with your clothes off right?

I went ahead and "transcribed" Palmero's pics. :)

Graphite 107
Length - 27
Unstrung Weight - 327g
Unstrung Balance - 31.0cm
Pattern - 16x19
Swing weight - 302g

Graphite 100LB
Length - 28
Unstrung Weight - 310g
Unstrung Balance - 31.5cm(?)
Pattern - 16x18
Swing weight - 305g

Graphite 100
Length - 27
Unstrung Weight - 315g
Unstrung Balance - 31.0cm
Pattern - 16x18
Swing weight - 290g

Length on Graphite LB is 28 Inches ? is that a error ? I haven't seen 28 inch racket in a long time in a 100 sq inch frame

Awesome pics. High resolution, beautiful depth of field, fine work. Puts the gear pics thread to disgrace! What kinda camera?

Those 97 and 98sq" frames labeled as 'Midsize'? Damn, that's stretching it. I always thought 600sq cm was the breadth for midsize.

Sony A99 mostly with 50mm macro lens, thanks btw.

Not an error.

what is point of 28 inch in a intermediate to advanced player frame like that one. players 4.0 and above are not using anything longer than 27.5 inches these days. Do they expect to sell a lot of these in USA ?

and that swingweight is unstrung. so we should add about 20 points to the SW after it is strung ?

If anyone stops in again can you ask the staff if any of the new Graphites (or any others) are foam filled?

Didn't ask about foam filling, but the guy did say that the new Longbody is made exactly the same as the one TW had sold a few years back. So if anyone knows if the old one had foam or not...

That response looks promising. Does anyone know beam widths on these? I'm guessing they'll stick with 23mm?

Well that just ruined it for me, will cross that one off the list

Not a Steam copy........

I think there's an interesting issue here... the DB throat will be hard to paint job :)

As far as the new line, I'm actually impressed. I don't change gear/frames a ton, and I've long since given up on prince, but I'm really glad to see that they're departing from a lot of their previous design decisions. Assuming they go back to a more raw feeling frame, I might actually go out of my way to demo these frames. 14x16 light weight frame is going to eat string like nobody's business. 16x16 pattern shows some experimentation in string pattern (maybe really just a copy of the steam S series).

I thought the swingweight was alarmingly low on those frames, but maybe I'm just underestimating the impact of strings on SW... The POG LB having just a hair over 300 SW is the biggest surprise peeking at the specs.

I'm not a huge fan of most of the cosmetics, but I'll reserve my final call for when I see them in person.

The 16 x 16 Tour was in the hands of a junior girl @ the ITF Grass Courts in 2012, in Phila Pa
I too am surprised by the 300 SW on the POG LB.

Stringer at my club was recently sent 3 Prince rackets, going to try get some pictures and possibly play test them this weekend! From what I heard they are the new Isner/Ferrer/BryanBros model.

SW of 300 unstrung corresponds with a SW of approximately 330 strung..
So it is not that low at all

Just another picture of the Prince Tour 16x16 ESP. Weights in at 321g with tourna overgrip, rubberband dampner and MSV focus hex 1,27 strings.I have played with it for almost 2 weeks. Fantastic racquet. You get extreme spin and more power compared to the Prince ozone tour. Suprisingly the control is also better. Only negative so far is that I have to restring more often. Also, the exo-ports at 12 o'clock is almost outside the bumperguard, so the paint chips off very easy.

Hey Mitchmann,

Do you know when the Prince Junior racquets will come out? Will there be a 25 and 26 inch graphite as well as ESP's? Thanks

I bumped into a Prince rep at our local courts and got to have a hit with the new Prince Graphite 100 (standard length). It was really good, with a great retro look and leather grip. Lots of spin and felt more solid than the exo3 tour. The rep said the Rebels are on the way out, which I hope isn't true as I'm still very keen on my Rebel 95s.

All the marketeers know this fact that the moment you give any player a change of racquet ... He/she will immediately feel good - throw in some nice strings on 52-53lbs range , anyones gonna love it

Everybody viewing your picture on a tablet or smartphone (or any other device with a small screen) will hate you for not resizing the picture...

But thanks for posting your info.

I was told the Rebel 95 is no longer going to be available to the public.

I dunno - to me, it's among the very best in the business... Right up there with Head and Wilson. Paint jobs are most often decent as well, only thing would be pj quality.

Not your image? Seriously? It's a tennis racket. 99% of the people you play against won't even notice your racket, and the 1% that do, won't care. And even if people did judge you based on the "image" of your racket brand, why would you care? I love the fact that the dude at the local courts beats the snot out of everyone using a Head granny stick. Obviously not a dude who cares about image, but obviously has the more important things down.

What's the deal with extra length racquets. What advantages can you get from it.?

I always played with regular racquets.., never even contemplated anything else

Extra reach and more power on the serve are nice. You sacrifice maneuverability though and it is less arm friendly.

There are plenty of people who prefer the extra-long racquets, usually those who tried one back in the day when most manufacturers offered these racquets under the name of longbody, stretch, long, xl, superlong, etc.

Even now, many pro stock racquets come in extra length.

Ugh, why did they not release these around the time of the US Open?

I'm not sure they have enough inventory ready at that point. The release kept getting pushed later and later in the year, so I'm assuming it has something to do with delays due to changing factories.

Just to clarify, my first stick was a prince, good one too. I have painted 2 of my wilson and babolat sticks to a black matte finish with no branding, just to get the Brand thing out - and focus on the game. With a hundred specs - Cortex/Amplifeel/Youtek/graphene/woofer/BLX/Boimettrix etc etc can warp the expectation of anyone. Bottomline has always been a good knack of understanding the game. Now, what I'm saying is - If Price is into the game of selling racquets - why now get a new logo/brand tag/attractive colors.

I dunno - to me, it's among the very best in the business... Right up there with Head and Wilson. Paint jobs are most often decent as well, only thing would be pj quality.

Yea, good sticks, few good players endorsing them, serious players would not bother who else is using their brand of stick, if Prince wants to position to the ones who are bothered, then why not go full guns blazing and do it right ..
