What's exciting about Nadal's game? Nothing...People may like the fact that he is winning a lot and shouts vamos creating a spectacle when he wins important points....

tumblr_ljyjpjn4Ed1qgeyd8o1_500.gif

Air humping and over the top celebrations are not exciting to me...Safin & DelPo's games far more exciting...Or even someone like Wawrinka.

No one said it was to do with celebrating styles. If you don't think Nadal's game is exciting then you are either a bad judge on the subject or you have a closed mind so you are not being objective.

I'm gonna go ahead and say Fed, back in his prime. His speed, shot making and reflexes were amazing to witness. I also really loved Agassi. Dolgopolov has pretty exciting style, granted he doesn't win anything.

The most exciting player is sometimes one of the most boring. Fabio Fognini. When there's chaos on the court and he's in the match I'm riveted. Darkness, injured leg & etc.

For me, Djokovic and Safin. They made tennis exciting for different reasons for me; Djokovic made the game exciting in an era where only two players were capable of winning slams and he was the first and only player to stand up to both of these guys, he gets my props. Safin was an all rounded player, and I mean very well rounded.

Oh, I almost forgot! Monfils! What a crazy player! He also doesn't win very often and isn't as consistent but his shots and jumping are ridiculous.

What is exciting about a super athlete and talent who wastes his abilities playing 20 feet behind the baseline, hitting alot of moonballs.

I guess you didn't watch the US open?

You see Nadal unlike Fed does not play the same in every situation and against each opponent.

Nadal actually stood close to the baseline and hit winners against Joker. That was one of the many changes he made.

Which player has had the most number of exciting matches of all time .

I know I'm a Nadal fan but honestly I would say it has to be Nadal....

Nadal has been involved in 4 of the greatest matches of all time .

Wimby 2007 & 2008

AO against Joker

FO semi final 2013

Poll on it's way.

I would say the most exciting player of all time was Dan Goldie.

These kinds of concepts are doomed to failure. What I mean by that is you can ask, "who's the best us president", "who's the best actor". Invariably, many opt for more recent folks, due to what we've seen most.

No disrespect to the newer folks, but that's the way these types of polls work.

Graf, imo.

Graf was amazing to watch and I used to be literally entranced by her slice. Sometimes I missed who won the point because I was so focused on her slicing motions.

Most exciting player to watch is Monfis by far.
Most exciting matches of all time are with Nadal and Federer; Connors, Agassi, Sampras had some exciting matches too

And Nole has less supporters than I expected (on this forum at least). Maybe his biggest supporters are fedfans who count on him for beating Rafa and secure Roger's GS record

I am new here so I don't what the deal is but I can assure you that at a few other large forums, a lot of fed fans have been rooting for nole.

they even cheered for him against their own player at RG for example.

they knew that roger had no chance against nadal at RG so they wanted nole to win and then beat nadal.

that is how desperate those fed fans were at other forums. how pathetic.

you ditch your own player precisely when he needs all the support in the world.

Nole has been in exciting matches but lately has lost them. He himself is not exciting nor is Nadal. Just expert baseliners, prolific defenders who grind out points. I am Fed fan and know he has nothing left and I don't care if Nadal, Murray or Nole wins. I'd like to see one of the French guys win RG though or an American male win the US Open. Now that is exciting cuz it is unexpected

I like it! At the same time, tennis didn't have the same visibility or tv time in many years past.

I think that in the 60s or 70s, Monfils wouldn't have existed. It has nothing to do with him being black in that era, but that a Monfils wouldn't have gotten the coverage that Monfils of today gets.

I do think Monfils plays to the crowd over winning. He's a case of someone that could have achieved more if he had the drive for it. He would not have survived back when players earned far less.

Different times.

I saw that too. Some fedfans wanted him to lose against djokovic in RG2011 because they didn't believe he could beat nadal in final. It's incredible.

There aren't many Fed fans that give Nadal any credit. He's won over twice the slams Novak has, yet you lump him with Novak. He's also never had a losing record against Fed h2h. Nadal has some top notch play, but it's dismissed by many Fed fans.

Fed and Nadal's rivalry has been based on the contrasting styles. Nadal has always put Fed in a place he's not totally comfortable in.

Nadal is the huge elephant in the room where Fed is concerned.

Very true. He should defnitely achieve more. He & Nole were in the junior Wimbledon final. But other Frenchmen have similar flair like Henri Leconte and Tsonga to a degree. It's nice for tennis to have a flashy player since Fed is on the decline.

OMG !!!! Did you hear that? It's the sound of hell freezing over !!!

I think you actually said something nice about Nadal??

Maybe your not a complete phony ? I must admit I am confused .

Agassi.

USo 2005, USo 2004 vs fed, 2001 uso qf, 2004 ao vs safin, i recall one at USO vs becker,, maybe 96?

I just liked those slugfests with winners all over the place.

This thread is just more of your anti fed campaign

No I like fed....really.

But Nadal has just been so ruthlessly bashed for so long here at TW....with such hate and Vernon that finally finally.......the world is starting to respect Nadal.

In the famous words of Bob Dylan : "The times they are a changing"......

So finally please give your respect and apologize to one of the greatest players of all time and arguably the greatest player of all time.

Don't you think it's long overdue?

The man has been hated and literally booed at the FO. He has been in Feds shadow for sooooooo long. Give the man the respect he deserves.

It's a disgrace how you guys treat him.

Since 2000´s on the only watchable players are Federer,Nalbandian,Safin and Kuerten.

Nadal, when he plays one of those mentioned, you can still watch him without falling asleep in 30 minutes...

Imagine a kind of WTF with these 8 mixed doubs teams:

Mc Enroe-Mandlikova
Laver-Goolagong
Budge-Connolly
Nastase-Bueno
Cochet-Lenglen
Hoad-Court
Edberg-Hingis
Panatta-Navratilova

Connors-Jaeger, Becker-Kournikova, Orantes-Casals and Rosewall-Fromholtz as possible substitutes

that should be called the Shootmaking Masters Tournament of All Time

and then the alarm rang and you woke up and realized that you were actually watching the Sampras Federer Wimbledon
