Why are you mad?

I'll start. Just found out the appartment I'm leving in it with wife and 16 months daughter was (doors, door's trims, trims) warnished with lead paint which is flacking right now. How did I find this out? My daughter's blood work came back with a very low amount of lead in her blood. Now I got to move in no time to a new place. Safest option is to buy a house which will be inspected by health department because if you want to rent you will find the same problem over and over here and it will cost you more than a morgage. Great, but I was going to leave my job and stay home with my little one; now I have to stick with it much longer. I wanted to get rid of my car and get a decent one but now I can't.

That sucks dude. In comparison, my problems aren't worth getting mad about.....By the way, spell check is your friend.

Sending good vibes to OP.

I'm mad because I lost to someone I should beat handily. It's social tennis, but I'm interested in getting better and my opponent is only interested in pushing the ball back. I'm working on my serve and trying to play more aggressively (and making a corresponding number of UEs) while my opponent taps in pattycake serves. Because I'm tweaking my serve I ended up doublefaulting several times, giving away games. We basically traded breaks. She only held her serve once, but it was enough to make a difference. Aargh.

Not to hijack the thread, but let's also consider what we're HAPPY about. I'm grateful for good health that allows me to play tennis, even at a low skill level, at age 49.

Well the tread should have said for better understanding and more clear response:

What are you mad/angry/resentful about right now?

Thanks man!

I don't get mad anymore - at least not for more than a moment or two. I just accept everything as it is. It isn't any higher level of thinking or great insight or anything. I'm not any happier or less happy than before and I'm not sure it is really better than the way I was before. Anger can motivate and give energy as long it isn't self-destructive.

I have chewed on lead several times, no side effect yet... MUST HAVE CAKE!

On another note, I am mad because I just got my sleep ruined by the next door neighbours having to go at it like wild rabbits and the woman sounding like a stabbed hyena.

Some of us have to be up early tomorrow.

What were they doing? Sounds painful.

My first time traveling independently in Paris, I stayed in a cheap one star hotel in a bad neighborhood. It had paper-thin walls, and I hated hearing the couple in the adjoining room go at it too long before dawn. Not only did it keep me up, but it made me feel lonely.

Luckily, I soon met a Swedish woman who was trying to make it as a model. She thought my hotel was disgusting, so we would steal wine from her agent and get drunk in her room. I followed her to Sweden, but we then broke up.

We rented an apartment for the kids when they were in college (one still is) and it had lead paint and we had to sign a disclosure that we were aware of it and that we accepted it.

I thought that this was a requirement in most places these days.

I don't really get mad at things anymore - might be a function of age - you don't get upset as much when you're older because you've already been through so many things that have made you upset that being upset doesn't really solve the problem. The idea is to focus on solving the problem and being upset often doesn't help in finding the solution.

I'm mad because people constantly walk into me. I'll be walking in a straight line in a public area, and people going the opposite direction but not on a collision course will suddenly turn or drift right into my path, forcing me to take evasive action.

I understand when someone's not watching where they're going (looking at the phone, staring in shop windows, etc.). But when they're looking right in my direction and still turn right into me, it gets annoying. It's like they're intentionally trying to bump into me.

The worst was going through St. Pancras train station a couple of winters ago on my way to a ski trip. I was wearing a bright ski jacket, I had a big duffle bag on my back, and I was dragging a 6-ft-long ski bag behind me, so it's not like I was inconspicuous. And yet, I had to keep dodging and weaving to avoid hitting people who were turning right into me.

My son complains about that too - he lives in a big city.

You might try an old bicyclists approach. Carry a small but loud horn with you and give it a squeeze when you detect a potential collision. The other approach would be an electronic device that generates a truck backup alarm.

In a crowded place, it's understandable that there will be a number of people walking in a straight line that you will have to avoid. Those don't really bother me, and I don't mind being polite and moving over. It's the people who turn directly into my path, usually at the last minute, even though they should be able to see me that really wind me up.

One of these days, I'm probably just going to stop taking evasive action when that happens.

My son is 200 pounds, 6'1" and built like a brick wall in the upper body. He's not the kind of guy you want to walk into. But people do it anyways.

imo some think walking is a contact sport so i either take the role of running back or offensive lineman. ;)

Whenever I can, I try to take the role of running back following a couple of blockers.

If I see a couple of people walking the same direction and roughly the same speed I want, then I follow a couple of steps behind them. They break up the crowd, and I don't have to worry about collisions.

I may have been drinking, but some events of this evening has left me completely murderous. I can't go in on details, but I'm extremely mad right now.

Last time we heard, you have a nightly orgy going on next door, and you said next time you "are going in there".

Let me guess, all dudes?

Im not mad at anthing really just a bit frustrated on occasion...Like when Fed plays below his standard ( 'big deal'...)

Perhaps people need to breathe and think calmly a bit more often and humility and good thoughts may follow?
