Chris Evert on Federer matches.

I thought this was interesting on how she is more stressed about Fed matches than she was of her own LOL.

"I’ve never been as
emotional watching a tennis match as I
have done after Roger has lost. This
may sound strange, but his losses
affect me much more than my own
defeats. I was watching him play
Tommy Robredo in the fourth round of
this year’s US Open, and I had to walk
away. I could see that Roger was going
to lose, and I just couldn’t watch any
more. I didn’t want to feel what I was
going to feel. And his defeat to Sergiy
Stakhovsky, in the second round of
this year’s Wimbledon Championships,
wasn’t that awful? It’s the defeats at
grand slams that affected me the
most. Roger is a special breed – some
of those defeats just rolled off his
back, but I never found them easy to
take. And I haven’t really spent that
time with the guy. I hardly know him.
I’m not a stalker, I promise you.”

She should be a little more professional I agree but hey! one simply cannot resist the amazing game of the GOAT :D

Chris Evert is creepy and pathetic. She should be embarrassed to have said all of this garbage.

At least she's not a Berdych. Moreover ALL commies have favorites . They just pretend to be objective when its painfully obvious who they like. At least Evert doesn't pretend objectivity.

What is that supposed to mean? She didn't say this during commentary. She's allowed to say what she likes when she's not working.

As annoying and unintelligent commentator Chris Evert is, I can truly relate to this quote.

I can definitely relate to this quote.

It took me a few years to really train my emotions to watch Fed lose to Djokovic and Murray regularly. I knew they could beat him once in a while but now it's just he's lucky to win a set off them.

Now that he's losing to guys outside the Top 20 regularly this year, it's just sad because he's the reason I picked up a racket. His "invincibility" (against everyone except Rafa) is what in my mind put him at and above Michael Jordan as my favorite athlete ever.

Jordan was still scoring at age 39 when he knees were giving out, I hope Roger will still be winning a few titles and pushing semi finals in a few years when he reaches the end.

It's just sad because I've invested so much time in Roger as a fan, that when he loses early, it's just like man I have nothing else to look forward too.

The types of losses against Robredo and Stakhovsky are the worst because when Fed is really off, you can see it on those days. Usually if Fed is spraying balls it's in the first set to get acclimated to his opponent. If he doesn't adapt by the 2nd or 3rd set, it's usually man it's just not his day today and it's like watching a slow death. He starts beating himself, hitting balls out and hitting the net and you can just kind of see the lack of conviction and the submission on his face on days he knows he doesn't have it.

The day he lost to Stakhovsky, I was nervous the entire match because Stakhovsky was playing the match of his life, and Federer was just not hitting his spots or catching breaks. Around the 4th set, I knew it would take a miracle for Fed to win even if he made it to the 5th because Stak was just playing out of his mind. Was very painful to watch that entire match and seeing the slow train wreck.

Nothing creepy about Chris's comments, that's how many fans also react.

I'm also a huge Federer fan, but his Wim12 win was a big bonus and anything after that I treat as gravy. Now I've accepted that he's not going to be winning consistently anymore and just enjoy the play without caring much about the result.

We can give her a pass. She's a woman and can show her emotion. I actually like that kind of human side and honesty from a legend. It's not even an assault of some type like 'I want some to be injured' or something. Just shows she's such a big fan of Federer's.

LOL she shouldn't have got too upset with the loss to Robredo, he was only going to get smashed in the next round anyway...

I want to know what'll happen to her when Nadal wins 18 slams over the next few years.

Yeah, so Nadal will win a further 18 slams in 4 years (four calendar slams and a bit), hence taking his total up to 32 slams by the time he is Federer's age now? Sounds realistic, fanboy.

Mirka better watch out. We all know how Evert likes to steal men from their wives. Just look at Greg Norman.

No worries on Fed being the next Mr Evert. Her next husband will be French. She already has had a US, Australian, and English husband, so a French husband would give her a career grand slam.

I actually like ChrisE. I don't find it creepy. I think all she is saying is Federer just floated over the game in his prime and it is difficult to watch him lose to Tommy Robredo in a major. It is like watching a maestro lose to a hack.

:lol::lol::lol:

Maybe she will next target Patrick Mouratoglou and steal him away from under Serena's nose. Apparently, she never liked Serena much anyway! ;)

Good for her. I like Chris Evert. The world needs more honesty. She's just being honest about how she feels. Nothing wrong with that. It's kind of surprising that Fed has that effect on so many people. He never inspired me one iota and that's why I never got into tennis while he was dominating.

Obvioulsy, per her article, there are many, many people that are emotionally invested in Roger and love him dearly. That's a good thing. I kind of like the whole "lion in winter" thing with Fed now. As long as he's not beating Nadal, I wouldn't mind one bit seeing him go on a great run and snag one more slam.

my feeings exactly. i was happy he won wimbly. i just wish he had won the gold. i have grown to respect today's payers but their games aren't as pretty as his. it will be a sad day when him and serena retire.

A younger version(maybe even the current version) of today's Chrissie can steal me any day. Oh but wait you can't steal the willing.

I suppose she would be a much better person if she fawned over the nadal instead.

Fawning over Nadal while predicting that he loses every match, wishing he loses every match to avoid losses to Novak, pretending to hate the guts out of Novak calling him an assortment of names, cursing everything associated with Novak including his coach would all make Evert a very creep...I mean better person. True story.

People calling someone as 'creepy' for saying she hates to watch Federer lose are the real 'creepy' ones. EEEEwwwwww..Big Puke.

I was far worse than that, troll. Her disturbing love for Fed taints her commentary as well. She already stinks as a commentator as it is, and her undying love for Fed makes it even worse.

Good for her. It's her feelings and she is comfortable sharing it with others.

It doesnt happen to Nadal fans mostly because they are bunch of body builders and tow truck drivers with tattoos and sagging baggy pants.
They will never understand this.
