No. Why? I talk crap about players on this forum. I dont want everytime I post, people throwing out my failed career.... In brief i failed in Challengers Lost almost every first round... did average in futures...I also prefer to stay Anonymous....thats not the point though. point is,some players weapon is fitness.. this is like taking away players with a big serve... not fair

OP should come and visit us in Melbourne tmr, will be even hotter. We want to see tennis, not iron man or marathon.

I live in Georgia and in the summer, it's between 110-120 coming off of the hard courts. It's always much hotter on the court than the actual temperature due to the reflected heat from the court surface. I don't can't how fit you are, it's dangerous to play under that heat. Heat strokes are no joke

Did you play in 43C in Australia ?

I guess you didn't

I worked under 45C in Karratha, Western Australia and i tell you it's horrible. I can't even imagine how they do especially the ones playing 4 hour matches.

Best thing you can do is drink 5 litters of water at night and 5 more the next day before the match.

I think people underestimate how dangerous 40+ heat is, if you're not prepared you could suffer so badly.

These tennis players are prepared yet they're suffering so bad, Sharapova and Knapp just played 3+ hours and they both looked like the walking dead. It's a nightmare and the organizers have to do something about it...ignore the "yes men" and do something.

Well a tennis pro( I seriously doubt this and don't care if you are as it is nothing special) regardless of success should not speak like this.

Let be honest....you won't last 1/10th of the time that the fainted pro's have dealt in the heat.

I doubt you played challengers in this level of heat....and if you are as fit as these pro's...maybe you would done better with your abbreviate career.

Just wait until you see how Monfils handles it!

Additionally, extreme heat isn't good for anyone.

Yes they are professional athletes, so that means they should play under any conditions? 40? 50? 60?

So you think there should be no heat rule at all?

Apart from the Hawaiian Ironman triathlon, I can't think of many professional sports which would expect their athletes to compete for several hours under those sorts of conditions.

Well, apparently they can handle more than you could in general. Since we're watching them sweat their balls off and you're talking nonsense here.

Ajla Tomljanovic is hot and can handle it.

Exactly that, no heat rule

I played a district playoff match in Sacramento last summer in 109 F degree weather. Let me tell you, it's brutal. The match lasted about 2 hours, and I probably drank and lost 3 or more GALLONS of water.

It's about health and safety. Look at how many kids have DIED, especially during football practice over the years.

It's not a matter about "can't handle the heat", it's about safety and staying alive. Heat wins. This obvious troll thread /closed

Its not a troll. A middle eastern/True African cant relate to the Western man when it comes to something being "too Hot". Especially if your being paid for it.

Can't relate? Let me sum up:

Any human being when exposed to extreme heat/cold for an extended period of time WILL DIE from aforementioned exposure.

That is their workplace. In no other job would you send a worker to do hard physical labour in that heat?

They played some high quality tennis in the last set esp in that f###ing heat!!
some people are ignorant and will never give credit where it's due!

First off, you being from NA, implies your body is more capable of coping with very high temperatures.
Secondly, claiming you've played challengers (presumably in order to boost the credibility of your words in the OP) works the opposite way, when you're not willing to back up your talk.

I can't believe the OP is actually serious.

Of course he's serious. He also believes that clown Monfils is GOAT.
The guy's never cracked the top 10 and has a losing record against
almost every top 10 player. His record is also 4-16 in Tournament Finals.

What would u expect? :)

he was in the top 10 for almost 2 years

Ivan Dodig said he thought he was going to die in the heat. Yes tennis players are athletes but they are human. The AO organizers should be ashamed of themselves they are greedy and not listening to the players. 40 degrees or higher is extremely hot someone could die on the court.

Good post. I think the OP would prefer to see a tennis player die on the court than have some reasonable precautions.

Making such a claim and then refusing to back it up makes you lose even more credibility. Go ahead and remain anonymous all you want, just please don't make stuff up and then say you don't want to back it up for the sake of remaining anonymous. I think you are completely making it up.
